Story Transcript

September 2022

Final preparations are underway to finish up the renovated Brokke Center with a target date of opening sometime in September. The Brooke Center will house the library, new coffee café, beautiful patio overlooking the water, poker/game room, card rooms, performing arts room, and computer room. As the expansion project continues at Flip-Flops and Group Exercise, one of the card rooms will be temporarily used as a group exercise room. The Brokke Center will also be designated as the NEW Business Office where Residents can pay bills, inquire about statements, receive access cards, make copies, send faxes and more. In combination with the Castle Group offices, the Brokke Center will be your one stop shop for Resident services. The new furniture will arrive sometime this fall. Watch for emails on the official opening date coming soon!

Expansion Project Update Terri Lollio, General Manager

Although progress continues on the Facilities Expansion Project, we have had some delays due to supply chain issues and contractor scheduling. Many Residents are already enjoying those facilities that have been completed and opened, such as the pickleball courts, softball field, tennis courts and bocce courts. We are waiting for the delivery of the furniture for all of these areas. The renovation of Flip-Flops continues, however, we have had to temporarily stop the construction of the attached group exercise rooms. The delivery of the precast concrete floor for the second story has been delayed so construction has been halted until the floor arrives sometime this fall. Construction continues in the Administrative building as work is being done to renovate the restrooms, add a meeting room and Food & Beverage office, as well as renovate the lounge area. The original two card rooms are being renovated to become a new sewing room and spa.

We anticipate opening the Brokke Center sometime in September pending inspections and issuance of the certificate of occupancy. This will include the new library, the cafe, two card rooms, the poker room, performing arts room, and administrative offices. The completion of the landscaping will take place during the next few weeks. Coffee service will be available in the new cafe. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to improve the facilities at the Town Center.

When the Brokke Center opens in September, card groups will be relocated to the new facility. If you have not done so, please contact Kelly Entsminger, Activities Director, to confirm your card group. Groups will be sharing space with others depending upon the size due to fitness classes being conducted in one of the card rooms during the expansion project.
