TAPA was established as a non-profit organization in February 1975 by a few physician assistants who functioned under the delegatory privileges of physicians provided in the Medical Practice Act. The Texas Academy of Physician Assistants exists to improve the health of all Texans.
CHALLENGES ADVANCEMENT OF THE PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS (PA) PROFESSION IN TEXAS In Texas, there are more Nurse Practitioners (NP) and Nurse Practitioner programs than there are Physician Assistants (PA) and Physician Assistant programs In order to be able to make positive legislative impact on behalf of PAs, TAPA must be a bigger voice and advocate for PAs, with less members and less people in the state of Texas TAPA members were looking for jobs, but often the roles for the job postings were for PAs or NPs, meaning there were less jobs for PAs to fill DECREASING NON-DUES REVENUE Before coming to Web Scribble, TAPA was experiencing a downward trend in non-dues revenue TAPA desired a revenue sharing pricing strategy that was a win-win for TAPA and their job board provider IMPACT OF COVID-19 Even with the huge need for healthcare professionals, TAPA members were facing layoffs and furloughs TAPA needed to quickly figure out how they could become a supportive resource to their members during such an uncertain time
SOLUTIONS CAREER CENTER PROVIDES A CLEAR MEMBER BENEFIT TAPA members have a dedicated career center that connects TAPA members looking for PA-only positions and employers located across the state of Texas A large percentage of TAPAs membership are students; they experience an immediate benefit of TAPA by getting connected with their first, and many times, second job, found through an easy-to-use career center STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP Forged a solid relationship with regular meetings dedicated to planning, reviewing and strategizing upcoming improvements to the TAPA career center TAPA has one point of contact for everything related to the career center SOPHISTICATED, BUT USER-FRIENDLY TECHNOLOGY Web Scribble crafted a customized career center for TAPA that offered a seamless and user-friendly experience for both job seekers and employers Web Scribble integrates directly with iMIS - TAPA’s Association Management System (AMS) enabling members to experience a seamless sign-in process
RESULTS NICHE JOB BOARD THAT ADVANCES THE PA PROFESSION TAPA’s dedicated job board makes it easy for PAs to find a job in the state of Texas Employers want to hire someone who is a member of TAPA and know exactly where to find them, resulting in more PAs in the state of Texas INCREASED MEMBERSHIP The TAPA Student Affairs team made the career center the focus of exit interviews with the schools, resulting in increased membership and more PA job seekers Increased PA membership means more people to work towards a positive shift in legislation on behalf of PAs CONTINUOUS RELATIONSHIP BUILDING & SUPERIOR CUSTOMER SERVICE To continuously improve TAPA’s career center, Web Scribble and TAPA meet regularly to go over career center progress, questions, and plans for future initiatives TAPA has a sounding board to bounce new ideas off and is provided with the support to make their ideas come to life TAPA receives its non-dues revenue payments by form of ACH payment, allowing for quicker, more continuous payments User satisfaction increased due to consistent communication and collaboration to solve problems
