CARTA DE BIENVENIDA / WELCOME LETTER

Querido compañero: Me alegra darte la bienvenida en nombre de la Cátedra de Traumatología del Deporte de la UCAM y de Clínica CEMTRO al V Simposio Internacional Clínica CEMTRO sobre AVANCES Y ACTUALIZACIONES EN TRAUMATOLOGÍA Y ORTOPEDIA y agradecerte muy cordialmente tu asistencia y participación. Me complace ofrecerte este Programa que hemos preparado para compartir tres días dedicados al intercambio de conocimientos y a tener una idea más próxima de los avances científico-médicos, reuniendo con ello materiales que nos ayuden en nuestro trabajo y a acercarnos mejor al futuro. Debo decirte que también este año contaremos con la extraordinaria colaboración del Profesor Roger Guillemin, Premio Nobel de Medicina, quien presidirá nuestras tareas. Deseo expresar aquí nuestro inmenso agradecimiento por su apoyo y por el interés que, suscitado por nuestro pasado Simposio, ha mostrado en estar también este año con nosotros. Como temas monográficos trataremos Hombro (con tratamiento por Cirugía Artroscópica de sus lesiones) y Músculo (la lesión más frecuente en el deporte) participando en ambos destacados especialistas. La tarde del viernes y la mañana del sábado la dedicaremos de nuevo a Ingeniería tisular y molecular. Cada vez más, debemos acostumbrarnos a vivir en fase de generar datos de investigación. Este año, al tratamiento de las posibilidades de la Ingeniería tisular se añade la nueva frontera del diagnóstico y terapia moleculares. Estamos ante un cambio progresivo de mentalidad, actitudes y habilidades en el que tenemos que hacer el esfuerzo de verlo desde dentro. Estoy seguro que los notables investigadores que presentan sus trabajos nos acercarán más y más a resolver destrucciones o deterioros de tejidos con cultivos celulares, es como decir “CÉLULAS PARA CURAR”. No sabemos de antemano el momento justo y en el lugar que será, pero no tenemos duda que ese futuro llegará y cambiará la vida de muchos hacia mejor. Durante la celebración del V Simposio, la medicina regenerativa y la ingeniería tisular y molecular se expondrán, mostrándonos que nos espera un hermoso futuro para las patologías del sistema músculo-esquelético... ¿Llegaremos a regenerar nuestras propias extremidades? Gracias a todos los que habéis hecho posible este V Simposio, que hemos cuidado con la ilusión de siempre. Dear colleague, It is my pleasure to welcome you on behalf of the UCAM Cathedra Sport Traumatology and CEMTRO Clinic to V International CEMTRO Clinic Symposium on ADVANCES AND UPDATES IN TRAUMATOLOGY AND ORTHOPAEDICS and I would like to thank you cordially for your assistance and participation. It gives me great pleasure to present this Programme, which we prepared for three days dedicated to share knowledge and to have a near idea of scientific-medicine advances, collect materials to help us in our work and to bring them nearer for a better future. I must say that during this year too we are counting with the exceptional collaboration of Professor Roger Guillemin, Nobel Prize winner in Medicine, who will preside our tasks. I would also like to express here our immense gratitude for his help and interest, which, prompted by our past Symposium, he will be with us this year too. In addition to this, we will discuss Shoulder (by Arthroscopic Surgery treatment of injuries) and Muscle (the most frequent injury in sport) participating in both outstanding specialists. On Friday afternoon and Saturday morning we will dedicate again to Tissue engineering and molecular. More and more we must get accustom to live in phase of generating data of investigation. This year, to the treatment of Tissue engineering possibilities, we must add the new diagnostic and molecular therapy frontier. We are in a progressive change of mentality, attitudes and abilities to which we must make and effort of seeing from inside. I am sure that the outstanding investigators that are presenting their work will make us get nearer more and more to resolve tissue destructions or deteriorations with cell cultures, it is like saying “HEALING CELLS”. We don’t know before hand the just moment and in which place it will be, but we have no doubt that that future will arrive and will change the live of many for better. During the celebration of the V Symposium the regenerative medicine, tissue engineering and molecular, we will be showed that a great future is waiting for muscle-skeletal system pathologies… Will we ever regenerate our own extremities? Thank you to all that have made possible this V Symposium which we have taken care of with the illusion we always have.
