SOUTHERN STATES BENEFITS CONFERENCE We are making plans this year to bring the same great benefit information and support to retirees who have left the Big Apple for the sunny south! Our Southern States Benefit Conference reaches members all through the south, with convenient meeting locations in Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina. Live presentations from Local 1180 staff and providers will address all retiree questions, set you up to get the maximum allowable reimbursement, and get the most out of all of your health and supplemental benefits. COMPUTER & TECHNOLOGY CLASSES The Retiree Division recognizes the need for retirees to become savvy with computers and technology, not just for the social aspect, but for the need to access online account information and benefits. Computers and technology are now a permanent part of our existence. Local 1180’s new retiree computer and technology classes will address how to log in to member portals on health benefit websites, learn how to download and save documents, and save PDFs to email them from your device for the purpose of filing for reimbursement. Additionally, we still also discuss fun stuff like social networking, movie streaming services, and online safety. Join one of our online or in-person classes. Space is limited for the in-person classes. Call the Retiree Division to register.

Come to our in-person monthly meetings to learn about your Local 1180 benefits. The CUNY School of Labor and Urban Studies (SLU) is our meeting place, located at 25 W. 43rd St. in Midtown Manhattan. Their COVID policy requires all attendees bring current vaccination card to each event. You MUST register to attend by calling the Retiree Division at 212.226.5800. Lunch will be served. REIMBURSEMENT & SUPPLEMENTAL BENEFITS SUBMITTING FOR REIMBURSEMENT 1. The filing deadline for submission for the submission of your 2022 claim reimbursement is June 30, 2023. 2. Our phone lines are open and fully staffed. If you have questions about benefits, we recommend joining our online meetings and learning with fellow retirees. Listening to the questions posed can make it helpful to better understand your benefits. If more personalized assistance is wanted or needed, call the office directly at 212.226.5800.

3. Completed forms and documentation in a PDF can be emailed to the Security Benefits Office at [email protected] 4. There is a CWA Local 1180 Reimbursement Claim Form Drop Box at the security desk in the lobby of our building. If you have completed your forms and would like to personally deliver them, you can seal them in an envelope and drop in box at 6 Harrison St., New York, NY 10013. 5. If you would like to send in your forms, please allow up to two weeks for confirmation of receipt.
