If Principars Message: After the players assemble on the stage and perform the graduation ceremony, the curtain falls on the first act of life. How was each person's part played during this first act? Do the critics say that the performers did well or do they refer to a lack of elemental training and learning? We believe that students who have had the opportunity to develop their basic life roles in New Milford have had better opportunities than many budding performers in the theater of life. Sound preparation for a role in life begins in the home and the community. This preparation is reinforced and expanded through formal education. High school experiences in New Milford have been varied and extensive. The opportunities for star-quality achievement have been available. Being able to elect course work closely related to individual needs has been a benefit often taken for granted, yet basic to ultimate success. We of the professional staff in New Milford High School strive to provide the best preparation for each student. We are confident that each graduate's educational background is strong and that it has given the experience necessary for successfully performing more challenging roles in the next act of life. W. RICHARD SNYDER Principal

We, the class of 1978, wilh the sincerest respect and gratitude, would like to focus the spotlight on Mis. I lizabeth Titunik for her excellent thirteen-year perforinaiu e at New Milford High School, dedicating our yearbook to her as a token of our appreciation. During our four-year run, all of us have had many con tacts with Mrs. "T"., always finding her ready to attend to our physical needs in a concerned and comforting m.inner. Although her job as the' school nurse involves hc'i with our health and well-being, Mrs. Betty Titunik finds the' time' and interest to listen to personal prol)leins. I ler warm, open, and friendly attitude invites students with trouble's to sc'ek her hel|), and she finds enjoyment in guiding thc'in in the' right direction. Calm and careful with accident case's, kind and ge'utlc' with illness, considerate' of special complaints; Mrs. Titunik handles each student's plight pleasantly and effee tivc'ly. I ler role has been a necessary anel serious erne' in our se heilastic career and it has been a satisfying and benefie iai perfor mance. The finale has arrived, the' time' has come' for one' who has starred backstage' to take* a bow. Wc' are' grale'ful to this fine lady.
