TOPIC 3 LA ESCUELA Y LA CARRERA Where do you go to school/? – ¿dónde estudias? What is the school like and what is its name? –¿Cómo es tu colegio y cómo se llama? it is a mixed school and its name is Christ Church Foundation – Es un instituto mixto y se llama Christ Church Foundation It is a big school, there are more than a thousand students – es un colegio grande , hay más de mil estudiantes What colour is your school? - ¿De qué color es tu colegio? It is brown and yellow – Es marrón y amarillo There is a uniform – Hay un uniforme What does your school have? - ¿ Qué tiene tu instituto? My school has many classrooms, laboratories, a hall and two staff rooms – Mi escuela tiene muchas aulas, laboratorios, un salón de actos y dos salas de profesores There is also the offices of the principal and secretaries, a library and sports fields – Hay también unos despachos del director y las secretaias, una biblioteca y unas pistas polideportivas Say you like school because the teachers are nice - me gusta el instituto porque los profesores son simpáticos Ask your penpal what subjects she studies - ¿Qué asignaturas estudias? School begins at 8:40 and there are four classes in the morning – Las clases empiezan a las nueve menos veinte y hay cuatro clases por la mañana I always get to school on time but some students arrive late – Siempre llego a tiempo pero unos estudiantes llegan tarde In the afternoon, there are three sessions and school ends at 2:30 – Por la tarde, tres sesiones y las clases terminan a las dos y media In Barbados , the students have lunch at school – en Barbados, los estudiantes comen en el instituto They eat hamburgers, fries, pizza or sandwiches – Comen hamburguesas, patatas fritas, pizza o bocadillos To drink, they have coco cola, lemonade, orange juice or water – Para beber, toman coca cola, limonada, naranjada, o agua. I like fruits, spaghetti and meat – Me gustan las frutas, los espaguetis y la carne On school days,I have breakfast at seven and my family and i have dinner at six thirty – Los días escolares, desayuno a las siete y mi familia y yo cenamos a las seis y media. How do you get to school? - ¿Cómo vas al colegio? Sometimes I go with my parents by car – A veces voy con mis padres en coche Many students go by bus,but when they live near the school they walk – Muchos estudiantes van en autobus pero cuando viven cerca del instituto, van a pie What time go do you return home in the afternoon - ¿a qué hora regresas a casa por la tarde? In my family we all return at different times – En mi familia todos regresamos a diferentes horas I return at 3:30 and my parents return home at 5:45 – Regreso a casa a las tres y media y mis padres regresan a las seis menos cuarto.
