1. Participants will have an understanding of a variety of deformities appropriate for deformity correction and limb lengthening. 2. Participants will have a basic understanding of treatment options for pediatric and adult orthopedic deformities. 3. Participants will be able to identify precautions to observe when treating a patient undergoing limb lengthening. 4. Participants will familiar with basic treatment protocols for the following: • patient undergoing femoral lengthening (internal vs external fixation). • patient undergoing tibial lengthening (internal vs external fixation). • patient undergoing humeral lengthening (internal vs external fixation). 5. Participants will have a basic understanding of the Pitfalls of Limb Lengthening and prevention strategies.

ADVANCED REHABILITATION TECHNIQUES FOR LIMB LENGTHENING AND DEFORMITY CORRECTION PRECEPTORSHIP•MARCH 13-15, 2023 PRECEPTORSHIP OBJECTIVES 2023

1. Participants will have the opportunity to observe live, and in-person, Physical and Occupational Therapy sessions geared toward their target patient population. 2. Participants will have the opportunity to participate in problem solving sessions to discuss cases observed, or cases that they present, with the experienced Paley Rehabilitation Therapists. 3. Participants will have the opportunity to participate is Labs targeted to their needs (Stretch Lab for Lengthening, Splinting Lab, ASTYM demonstration). 4. Participants will have the opportunity to attend an Ad Hoc meeting on developing a Limb Lengthening Deformity Correction Rehabilitation Program at their facility.
