JUST Residence Banco Santander Foundation JustMAD has proved to be a powerful piece in the cultural scene in Spain. Thanks to the generosity of the Banco Santander Foundation, Just Residence program has played a big part in this positive impact. Just Residence’s third edition consists in a 4-week stay in Spain, and it offers the residents the opportunity to enjoy a unique experience in a new creative environment while spending time with other international artists. 2016’s iteration aims to achieve a world wide creative spectrum, and therefore is articulated through an open call. This is meant to bring together a representative sample of young artists from around the world. In previous editions participation was by invitation only. The residency program destination is Málaga. Residents will certainly benefit from the experience of living in this gorgeous Mediterranean city. Málaga has lately become one of the most important art centers in Europe thanks to the opening of two big museum franchises, that is Pompidou and San Pettersburg Museum. These big names add up to the already existing Picasso Museum, Carmen Thyssen and the CAC, focused in contemporary art. Artist Dario Escobar acts as Just Residence’s mentor. The JustResidence Banco Santander Foundation 2016’s jury, chaired by Escobar, has selected the following artists. Sabrina Barrios (Brazil), Gustavo Blanco-Uribe (Venezuela), Andrés Frix Bustamante (Colombia), Francisco (US), Anna Nosowicz (Poland), Bertrand Peyrot (France), Ryan Turley (US). List of galleries that support their artists coming to JustResidence 2016 and that will be present at JustMad7: Erin Cluley Gallery (Dallas, US) No Man’s Art Gallery (Amsterdam, Holanda) La Ramona Proyectos, Espacio 101 (Bogotá, Colombia) Pragaleria (Varsovia, Polonia) Dot Fifty One Gallery (Miami, US)
