From The President Desk Dear Angels, The theme for this year's International Women's Day was 'Embrace Equity'. The theme focuses on a gender-equal world that is free from bias, stereotypes and discrimination. A world that is diverse, equitable and inclusive. While this may seem to be a given, there are many societies where equality is still a struggle - and often surreptitiously ! At the deepest core of equality is the access to personal hygiene & health. Tangent India went full throttle in its South & West phases of Crimson Menstrual Hygiene project. West zone saw the participation of 10 clubs benefitting 1750 girls. In the South zone, 14 clubs participated and 3325 young women received the sanitary napkins. The efforts of Project Convenor, Sonal Desai is truly unmatched & commendable ! Tangent India had our MTM in the temple city of Indore alongside the 41 Area 5 MTM. It was an honour to have TCI VP Jayashree Chaudhry as Chief Guest. This was followed by a visit to the holy city of Ujjain. The national Board had its second board meeting making the half year mark. Ladies Circle India celebrated its Charter Day on March 18th. Our convenors Ginni & Rashmi ensured that Tangent India sent greetings to LC. Every Tangent club sent charter greetings to 3 Ladies Circle clubs ensuring that greetings were received by every LC ! President Tangent India sent greetings to LC presidents ( past & present). TCI conducted a zoom meeting of all country heads to discus the various proposals to be presented at the AGM in UK. It was my pleasure to attend and participate in these discussions. Presidential visit continued to the Delhi clubs of T2, T3 & T33. It was special to attend the T3 meeting at Sudha Vohra’s house where she had laid out a sumptuous vrat lunch. This was followed by the book launch of our own highly accomplished, Dr.Pawan Jain. Dinner was a stylish affair with a few couples at PP Renuka’s house. The next day we had a meeting with T2 members over lunch – where an easy camaraderie flowed. The next stop was at the project by T3 in Jaunapur village in the presence of our project donor Mr.Sandip Sahai, CEO Clearwater Analytics, USA. The project was followed up with a felicitation program for the donor hosted by Puja Khullar. We used the opportunity to make a brief presentation of the menstrual hygiene projects conducted by our members across India. The impact and need of the project was not lost on our donor, who kindly committed to continue support for this project ! Overall, a very action packed & fruitful visit to the capital city ! It was my honour & privilege to attend the Area 1 MTM at Ooty and the T5 Crimson Project. Glad to note the quiet flitting of our little Angel Whispers from T45 – T18 – T19 – T43 – T10 …. Quite a flight by the tiny one !! On that note, sending you all loads of angel dust to shower magic in your lives…. Believe In Angels … Be Blessed, Beautiful & Bold Ranjana Singh President (2022-23)

A Tangent India Fellowship Initiative Hello Angles 🧚🏻 With a proud feeling would like to announce that President Ranjana Singh’s dream to connect Tangent Clubs with Ladies Circles was a total success. All our 46 Tangent Clubs sent Greetings for the Ladies Circle India Charter Day – to the Chairpersons and Secretaries of all 148 Ladies Circles in India. It was surely a Grand Reach-out by our Tangent Clubs, which was also very well received and appreciated by Ladies Circles. On behalf of Tangent India, I would like to thank all the Tangent Clubs for their whole-hearted and support which was full of enthusiasm. It was a real pleasure to receive warm appreciation from the Ladies Circles. The coordination was also creditable as all the Tangent Club Chairpersons and Secretaries sent out their respective greetings on 17th March itself, which was the Ladies Circle India Charter Day. The above delightful fellowship effort also gave me an opportunity to interact with several Tangent executives in this process, which was a real high point for me personally. Fellowship Convenor Pawan & Ginni

The Little Flower - Inspirational Short Story Once upon a time lived a little flower, though not quite a flower. She lived her life curled up and tucked away inside her protective shell. It was warm, dark, and she felt very secure within it. She stayed inside this shell and never once made an effort to come out. As the days and weeks went strolling on by, as they always do, she became anxious and listless of her all too familiar circumstances, and wondered, "Is there more to it than this?" Strange and new thoughts began to percolate into her mind, bubbling up from her subconscious, and so she wondered, Is there something else, something more, something grandeur to life than this? Suddenly, like a flash of light, a new thought came to her, maybe I can open this ceiling and see what's outside. This new thought overwhelmed her with excitement, what an idea! Could there be…an outside... and something more? And so that night the little flower fell asleep and dreamed dreams. The next morning the little flower, all curled up in her safe and dark cocoon awoke excitedly and began thinking of a way to open the ceiling. The more she thought, the more determined she became, believing more and more, and then, suddenly, cracks began to appear in the ceiling. Excitement filled her and the cracks grew longer as she began to stand up, "It was working", she thought! The cracks got longer and wider and then suddenly, she heard strange sounds coming from the outside, alien and unnatural sounds which frightened her, and so, being fearful, she sunk even deeper into her humble abode and the cracks on the ceiling zipped up and disappeared. She thought, maybe this isn't such a good idea after all, believing that there was something dangerous out there and it was better to remain inside. And so the little flower continued in her meager existence inside her little shell, but she just couldn't shake off those strange anxious feelings and general discontent of her all too familiar circumstances. It was as if something inside her was telling her to open up. These feelings continued to bother her and wouldn't go away. She thought, there must be something more, and I need to see it, and so she became all the more determined. That night, the little flower fell asleep and dreamed dreams. The next morning the little flower, all tucked away inside her safe and dark cocoon awoke excitedly and stared up at the ceiling, intimidated at the barrier. She heard a still small voice inside say, "Whatsoever you can conceive and believe, you can achieve,‟ and so she thought, I can do this! and moved closer to the ceiling of her cocoon, and would you believe it, the cracks reappeared and the ceiling was beginning to open up! The strange and alien sounds came back but the little flower persisted, her goal unwaveringly in mind. Suddenly, a strange new thing, sunlight began to creak in through the cracks, the little flower had never before experienced such a thing, it was warm and blissful, it was as if every fiber or cell of her being was being electrified by this light. Those strange and fearful sounds, though still there, meant nothing to her as this warm sunlight was lifting herself into another realm of existence. She opened up and as she did, her beautiful petals stretched forth in full array for the very first time. Unbeknownst to her, she was a little flower, and to her astonishment, a whole world, boundless in scope was outside her that entire time. Those strange sounds were actually the voices of people, giant bipedal organisms with kind and soft faces, friendly creatures with the spark of intelligence within their eyes. She realized that there was actually nothing to fear and her only mistake was not realizing it sooner. She had joined a community of other magnificent flowers and beautiful winged creatures, and by opening up she became a blessing to countless people and in return received the blessing of sunlight, invigorating and nourishing her very soul. The world before and the world after, no comparison could be made, so vastly different are the two. The little flower lived a happy life at the botanic gardens and though her life was short-lived, her grace is forever eternalized in countless pictures taken by the giant bipedalings, in the end, she lived true to herself and was able to give back, forever grateful of a little thing called life. You are the flower that has blossomed by opening out to Tangent India! Keep spreading joy and happiness!!
