THE FINAL SCRUTINY, THE FINAL PREPARATION This weekend at the 9:00 a.m. Mass we will celebrate the 3rd and final Scrutiny for the “Elect of God”, those preparing for Baptism, Confirmation, and First Holy Eucharist at this year’s Easter Vigil Mass. They, along with the already baptized Candidates for Confirmation and First Holy Eucharist have been on a long journey of conversion that does not end at the Vigil Mass, but rather is the beginning of a lifelong, on-going conversion journey of growing in faith and holiness. Remember all of our Elect and Candidates in your prayers during Lent and Holy Week as they prepare to be received into the Church at the Easter Vigil Mass. PARISH RETREAT SOON! Mark your calendar for Saturday, April 26, 9:30am – 2:00pm for our annual parish retreat. All adults are invited to participate. There is no fee for the retreat but we do ask you to register after Mass so we can prepare sufficient materials. Lunch will be a pot luck buffet so please plan to bring a dish to share. THE LITTLE WHITE BOOKS ARE HERE!!!!! Have a more meaningful and faith filled Easter to Pentecost by using the Little White Book. Books will be available in English and Spanish for $1.00 each after weekend Masses on April 12/13 in the PFLC. Be sure to pick up your copy and Give one to a Friend, Neighbor and/or Family members. CRS RICE BOWL REFLECTION: HAITI This week, CRS Rice Bowl invites us to enter into solidarity with the people of Haiti. We are encouraged to reflect on the Catholic social teaching principle, Call to Family, Community and Participation, and reminded that, as social beings, we are called to seek God together. Let us pray this week for our brothers and sisters in Haiti and all around the world, that our families and communities may be strengthened and blessed. This special Mass will include sacred motets and the liturgy of Easter sung in Gregorian chant and sacred polyphony, with the principal choral parts (Kyrie, Gloria, Sanctus, etc.) of the Mass sung in a polyphonic setting by the Renaissance composer William Byrd.
