President

RMMC-MI's byword is 'home of the best'. With this, the institution aspires to provide the suitable facilities to make sure students are given nothing but the best service to excel in their respective paths. Putting great emphasis on quality education that will shape the students to become intelligent and informed citizens of the society is a goal that adheres greatly to the views of the institution's namesake. RMMC-MI stands firm on the belief that quality education nurtures and shapes not only the minds but also the hearts of its constituents.

Adapting and adjusting to the changes brought about by the new normal has been one of the highlights of this academic year. Our students have learned how to reintegrate their selves and showcase their talents through the different in-person activities such as the Abre Klase and Hinampang, to name a few. Our institution's magazine attests to these activities and works brought about by the perseverance and talents of the students and staff alike. And so, I would like to sincerely thank the parents and stakeholders for their continued support and belief in all of RMMC-MI's endeavors. Your trust will surely lead our students to hurdle through the challenges of the present and the future that is to come armed with optimism, empathy, and responsibility to become the best in the 'home of the best'. Every accomplishment starts with a vision and that’s why I humbly stand here in front of you today tremendously honoured. I Chrest Ianne Peusca, A 1st year student of Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English. This day serves as a reminder of how far Mr. & Ms Hinampang 2022 has come and also a reminder of the road ahead. The preparation is tough and the competition is indeed challenging but with the endless support of my classmates, excellent coaching of my department, with a beautiful transformation of my glam team, and top of all my faith in God, I made it through. Also, I want to thank the Hinampang 2022 organization for hospitality, kindness, and a great experience. From Miss Hinampang 2022 experience I learned that the main purpose is to teach the young generation to respect their culture, camaraderie & to believe in oneself, . I’ve always believed that there is no barrier to reach our dreams or to have an impact on others. because surely RMMC is the home of the best!

P29

RMMC-MI HOME OF THE BEST I never thought I would parade myself in front of a huge crowd representing the pride of my department which is the College of Teachers Education. As someone who had no experience in pageantry, I took several excuses before my mentors could ever persuade me to join. However, there was in me a planted desire to use this opportunity to be a platform for the change that I want to see in my community and that is the Moral and Spiritual Formation among Youth. This desire brought my feet toward the panel for screening. But things were not easy. I had no clue about everything – how to project, persuade, and answer questions. Despite those weaknesses that I had, I hoped to be one of the candidates for tr. and Ms. Hinampang 2022. Fast forward, I was qualified by God’s grace and the journey began. The acad coaching, Passarellacoaching, photo shoots, and all the preparation – all were surreal. There were countless moments when I could not answer even the simplest questions my coaches would ask me. I can not even articulate simple sentences. Perhaps, all my weaknesses and the negatives were permeating my head. I lost my confidence and even the hope to win. I could recall my attempt to retreat. My purpose was slowly blurring out as my weaknesses rapidly rise in front of me. I was afraid. For the past years, my department has consistently brought home the crown and I was pressured not to be able to win it. I focused more on the crown rather than my advocacy. Thankfully, I was not stopped by my doubts and weaknesses. I just took action and received encouragement from me my mentors, friends, and colleagues. I became stronger than my strongest excuses because of the people that surrounded me and my passion to bring light the moral and spiritual formation among youth. I was equipped. I was prepared by them for the battle. Lights, music, the crowd, and the panel of judges. I am here! It was real! My heart pounded like a drum and I shivered like I never had before. Yet, when I saw my co-candidates with their debonair and gorgeous looks and the smiles painted on their faces, I was strengthened. For me, it will all be worthless if I will not enjoy the moment. I pulled myself up and grooved on the floor and flaunted my looks and proudly represented the College of Teacher Education. This is it! I am capturing a bigger crowd! I am reaching a larger number of youths. I am ready to set forth my advocacy! Graciously, I brought home the crown! This was one of the most magical moments in my life. Not the crown alone but the way that it has paved for my advocacy. I could not thank the Lord enough for putting me here. I know it’s a huge responsibility. But I am ready to take it on. To all RMMCians, let us desire deeper dreams. It is one thing to dream high for ourselves, but it is an entirely different thing to dream deep for others. I am certain that we are created not for ourselves but for others – to love and serve them with all humility and compassion. I am Mega Val Erasga, your Mr. RMMC-MI 2022.

RMMC-MI HOME OF THE BEST Success comes from delegating, risk-taking, and having a good team. From

Over-all Champoin

the start, there was already a pressure that has been hump unto our shoulders. The expectation of being the back-to-back champion for Hinampang 2022. Especially from our alumni seniors and the criminology faculty and staff. We want them to be proud of us and proud that we can handle our department. The Hinampang 2022 Intramural is an annual event hosted by The Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Colleges Marbel - Inc. Where we can show our talents, skills, capability, and proficiency in what we are good and proud of. It is also our way to show and share those talents with the school and other people. There were a lot of challenges and obstacles. We, the DSC Officers are challenged to do our part and responsibilities. It was difficult especially we are tight on time and the budget we are given is not enough for the demand we are put up into. We have made a lot of changes in our plans and I am just glad that we have a department that can support us. We divided our tasks so that we can support the participants in each event. There was a lot of hard work, mixed emotions, and sleepless nights especially in making the props and costumes for the street dancing competition. We finished all of it at 4:00 am just the day of the event. However, seeing the performance of our participants in the Intramural and showing their talents and skills to other people and how they enjoyed it, releases all of my fatigue away. We provided them with what they needed, water and food even if the budget comes from our pocket money but it was worth to spend after all they make our department proud of their talents. It was fun, exhausting but fun. I remember the day of announcing the winners of events in the Hinampang 2022. It was really nerve-wracking because all of the departments showed great skills and talents and also gave their all. We are hoping that we will at least win all of the sports events just to somewhat make it to the rankings. Our department won majority of the sports, some of the socio-cultural events and our candidates for search also won. We lost to some events but the team spirit was great and they worked hard and in the end they were the better team. When it is time to call the over all champion for the Hinampang 2022, there’s two departments left that haven’t been called, the Department of Education and Department of Criminal Justice Education.

P32

RMMC-MI HOME OF THE BEST The emcee announced that the team that will not be called first is the

Over-all Champoin

overall champion for the Hinampang 2022. When the Department of Education was called first, we jumped with joy and triumph and couldn’t believe that we really won despite all our anxiety that we wouldn’t. It was also an epic moment because the electricity blacked out and the wind was strong just before the emcee can call our department and hand out our trophy. The wind and blackout did not stop us. We jumped, shouted and cheered even louder. We were so excited that our DSC Vice Governor, Hance Aldrine Tesoro, and some of our officers rolled on the floor and sprint back and forth in the field. It was truly an amazing and worthwhile moment and experience for us. As an elected officer for this academic year, I can honestly say that I am a beginner in leading and handling tasks especially if your team or members are aspiring criminologists. Even though we are beginners in heart of leadership, there is nothing big or small, high or low in having a team sharing one goal. We are Criminology students of Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Colleges Marbel-Incorporated. We have a passion for excellence and a commitment to service. We have one dream, sharing one goal, to overcome the stream of our fears unto the path of our triumph. A law of life that means a lot to me is; Success is a journey, not a destination. It means that what matters is not necessarily where you are at the end, but what you accomplish while you go on your journey. I am most thankful for the College of Criminal Justice Department. Thankful for the never-ending support of our Program Coordinator, Ma’am Lily Mae B. Flores,RCrim, the criminology faculty and staff, the hard work and participation of the students, and the DSC Officers. Also, to the SSC Officers and SPS Office and to Sir Albert P. Balongoy, Ph.D. Vice President for Academic Affairs and to Ma’am Ma. Andrea Patricia M. Millado, MBA, College President. All of our hard work, achievements, and winning the trophy will not come to reality without their utmost support. “The most successful people in life have a clear idea of their goals and the drive to pursue them. We as individuals have to realize that life is a learning experience and being able to recognize the importance of our strengths and weaknesses in order to make a difference in relating personal growth. Having goals, priorities, and special qualities about ourselves is what gives us individuality in anything that we choose to do.”

RMMC-MI HOME OF THE BEST Please introduce yourself to us Hello! I am Tom Jeson Subade Nicolas, a fourth-year student taking up Bachelor in Secondary Education Major in English. What does your position as an SSC President mean to you, talk to us about it, and what are the most prominent activities of the council on the ground? The position I have right now as an SSC – President means a lot to me; it helps me to be bolder and more knowledgeable in terms of leadership, governance, and handling situation that needs a firm – and – wise decision. Being a leader requires you to be sensitive, adaptive, and optimistic, it is not all about the position, but minding of despising yourself just to serve your constituents is way better. It is well to serve than to be serve. What I can say right now, if you have eager to serve the student body and have the urge to stand as a spoke person then go. I am not here if no one believes and I am not standing as firm if I choose not to establish my own armour of persistence and confidence. I do consider anything under my leadership as prominent activities that we had conducted like Pasudnayag, Abre – Klase, and Hinampang. On these activities officers invest sleepless nights, sweats, and their health to make our activities successful. What is your advice to students who are currently studying during the difficult times? To all RMMCIans, if you think that everything doesn’t go well to what plan that you have anticipate, then learn to re-route your thoughts. Re-routing doesn’t mean you are re-stepping your steps; thus, it is a sign of being a wise man. do not let to pass the day without finishing any tasks. Learn to be optimistic and adaptive. We all experience hardships and difficulties in studying, what you need to do is to plant them shower them with positivity and laughter; as result you will be going to have a successful and blissful life. KAIZEN, AJA!!

Agustin, LPT got the top 10 spot in October 2022 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) garnered 92.60% ratings. Moreover, RMMC-MI has produced 275 newly Licensed Professional Teachers!

Please introduce yourself to us I am ANNA MARRIE MUNINIO AGUSTIN, 23 yrs of a resident of Tampakan,South Cotabato. A Daughter of a dried fish and fish paste vendor Why did you decide to be an educator? Given my finacial status my family could not afford medical course. Hence, I decided to take Education Course. Honestly, I dislike my course at first. However, when I was deployed as teacher-observer I fell inlove with the profession. I found purpose in life and that was to educate young women. What was your family’s reaction? "My parents were so happy about the news."

How did you find out you were the topnotcher? Was it expected?

II was sleeping when one of my friends call that I passed the the exam. Then, I received another message that I was a topnotcher. I'm in total shock, I don't have the slightest hope or expectation to Top the LET. I even doubted myself to pass the exam because my effort in studying is not that deep. I was working every day and the only time I study was when I have vacant time yet most of the time got distracted with mobile games particularly Mobile Legends. For whom (or for what) do you offer this success? I offer my success to my mother, brother and in -laws who never give up on me. They trust my capability despite the disappointments that I gave them. Also, I offer my success to the my boy, my son that keeps me going. He was my sunshine, my light that keep me motivated to work for my dream and to my partner, who stay by my side even if the world turn their back against us.

What do you consider as the greatest challenge in finishing your studies?

The greatest challenge I face while studying was managing my time. I was struggling to manage my time. It was really hard to be a student and a parent at the same time. I was also doing income generating sidelines such as selling Natasha, PC, ukay and other online products so that I can have extra allowances for my school projects and I can afford to buy diaper and milk for my son. Although, my in laws and parents supported me enough finacially I keep on hustling because I want to stand on my own. I want to lessen the burden I'm giving them as a student-parent.

What could be the “secret” to your success in the licensure examinations?

There is no "secret" my success is the fruit of my hard work and faith. Don't be too hard on yourself. Accept your weakness and try to make it a strength. Pray, ask and work for it. Where do you see yourself five years from now?

I can see myself five years from now as an elementary teacher. Nurturing and educating young minds. Empowering young generations through helping them to realize that other peoples validation doesn't matter. Also, Advocating mental health awareness through education.

What is your advice to students who are currently studying during the difficult times?

In difficult times kneel and bow down your head. Surrender your life to the Lord or to any divine being you believe. Cry, shout, and have a break down. It's okay not to be okay. What is not okay is to be stuck on the same situation. You should Dream big and never give up RMMC-MI- Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Colleges-Marbel, Inc.

Q1. Can you please introduce yourself to us?

I am Cherilyn S. Abonales, formerly known as Cherilyn Suazo when I am still studying at RMMCMI. I am the eldest among the 8 children of my father, a security guard, and my mother, a housekeeper. Technically, we can't afford to continue my studies after my mother died during the summer of my second year in high school. My mother left me the heavy responsibility to take care of my siblings especially our 1 month old baby brother. I was still blessed that God included me to be the recipient of the Kabugwason Paglaum Scholarship and Grant-in-Aid Program allowing me to continue my tertiary education with free tuition and monthly allowance. June of 2013 I enrolled at RMMC-MI to take up Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English and March of 2017 I gloriously graduated and earned my degree leading the graduating class of my batch as one of the blessed Cum Laudes. I am currently employed under the Department Education wit h San Vicente National High School as my reporting station.

RMMC-MI HOME OF THE BEST Q2. Can you please describe your stay at RMMC-MI? My stay at RMMC-MI is a mixture of descriptions. There were times I am at my happiest being a college girl like any other typical college student because of my friends and the memories we made both for our academics and leisure. Most of the time, I am the student survivor. I was blessed to study in a highly-named college institution free of payment because of the Kabugwason Paglaum Scholarship and Grant-in-Aid Program. I have no one to lean on to even for my personal basic needs both as a student and as a girl turning to be a lady. I have insecurities looking at myself wearing old clothes and I felt like I don't fit to be a city girl. While others loved to move around our classroom, I chose to just sit in the corner to make sure that no one would notice how I look. I have incurred absences in my classes because of financial shortcomings and I have no other option than to wait for the styphen that the scholarship was set to release for the month. Going home was even the worst. It was the real battle zone for me. On top of everything, is expected to be my mother's replacement for my siblings was the toughest. It felt like the weight of the world on my shoulders. There were times I struggled to mother my siblings and complete my academic requirements at the same time. I endured the pain of being judged as an irresponsible sister every time I choose to beat deadlines for school. I endured looking at the hungry faces of my siblings wearing old and stained clothes, grasping the pitiful sight of every person who could see us. Those sights hit me really hard on the chest but instead of being ashamed, I walked with my hopes up, claiming that one day we will also enjoy delicious meals and decent clothes that any other kids enjoy. Above all, I endured going through all of these only wishing my mom to be here.

Q3. Can you share with us the best memories that you had as a student in RMMC -MI? The best memory I had as a student of RMMC-MI is every time I managed to win over my problems without my parents. Yes, I never disturbed my father about my problems. I managed to analyse situations and make decisions not just for me but also my siblings. Of course, studying in an institution will not be worthwhile without the knowledge and character gained. I am blessed to be moulded inside an institution that introduced me to life-sensed knowledge and brought out the character in me that I never thought of having.

Q4. What are you doing now as a professional and what influence did the RMMC-MI have on your own professional career?

I am currently teaching in a public school and it inspires me to pass the knowledge and character that RMMC-MI fueled in me. I will always be a reflection of a survivor that RMMC-MI could produce. I will always be proud. I am from the HOME OF THE BEST.

RMMC-MI HOME OF THE BEST

Q5. What is your advice to the students who are currently studying during their difficult time ? My advice to young dreamers of today who struggles to be somebody someday is to embrace the struggle , the hardship, and the pain. Don't turn your back against it. Don't escape. Don't be afraid of fighting for your dreams even if you know it will hurt because that's a fact. It hurts. It drains. The moment I had finally brought my siblings to popular restaurants, bought them everything they need for their first day of school, and bought them gifts on their birthdays, it seems that the heavy weight I had on my shoulders turned into wings, making me feel like I'm floating in the air. Their smiles were fulfilling. Now, I know my mother is watching us from above, and of course, I look up at the sky too whenever I feel like she is watching us and I will say: "Okay lang kami Ma. Hindi na kami nagmumukhang kinulang." Life after you get your dream job or business doesn't mean living on a luxury. You will still face challenges. The change there is that you can manage it more than you can when you are still studying. When you get to that point of your life, you will discover that you have finally believed in yourself more than you did yesterday. You won't be scared for future problems to come. Instead, you are always aware that problems usually occur along our way and you are confident that you can WIN. Young dreamers, if you won't embrace the pain of chasing your dreams today then you are turning your back against the glory you are about to own in the future. Endure. The deeper the pain, the higher the reward. RMMC-MI- Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Colleges-Marbel, Inc.
