With Brothers only losing just one game so far, they came up against the travelling Burdekin Canetoads in this round 4 matchup. Brothers wasted no time at all as Marcell Du Prez sliced through the defense offloading to winger Samuel Doyle for the first 5 pointer of the match.

After Samuel Doyle scored his second try of the match, Ned Sedgwick raced to the line putting Brothers in a secure lead. Moments later, a missed tackle from Brothers sent Kelsey Hesp through the line as he offloaded to his fellow teammate Luke Torkington, securing the first points for the

CaneToads. After Matthew Rauch scored back to back, Brothers secured a turn over courtesy of Kalen Timbs where Lachlan Fanning tore down the sideline and was supported by Jeremy Morton who finished it off. Burdekin were not going home with just 1 try under their belt as Michael Hall took a quick tap, burrowing his head through a sea of blue and white jerseys, to dot the ball down. Brothers did what they do best as Samuel Doyle nabbed his first hat-trick of the year from a slick counter attack as he sped past his oncoming defenders. One more try from the CaneToads courtesy of flanker, Morgan Baker locked the score up for the Toads at 21 points. To finish the game off Matthew Rauch also secured himself a hat-trick as he lead his team well. A highlight reel of all the scoring plays can be found on our FaceBook page. This week, both teams will take a well deserved break as they rest up for the Easter long weekend.

Following the Brothers v Burdekin game at Mike Carney Toyota Park, the undefeated Teachers West faced off against fierce competitors, North Ward Old Boys.

It only took 4 minutes for the first points to be scored as Brandon Drane went hard from a set peice and scored under the posts. After some strong defensive efforts from North Ward, they found themselves defending a scrum 10 meters out where Teachers capitalised setting up Ginau Harry to waltz over the try-line for a meat pie. Desperate to keep North Ward from

scoring, the Old boys pick and drive proved to be successful as Cooper Arnaboldi burrowed his head adding 5 points for North Ward. Another try from Ginau Harry put Teachers West in a comfortable lead as reserve grader, Josh Newman accelerated past his defenders adding another 5 points to the tally. Some dominant phases by the Old Boys caught the bulldogs on the backfoot with a penalty to set up North Ward to score their second try of the match as they mauled it from a successful lineout where Jon Salee pumped his legs and secured a meat pie. North Ward's rein of terror didnt stop there, as Declan Marchioni dummied 5 meters out creating space for him to score right on fulltime. Scoring highlights of this game can be found on our Facebook Page. Next up in round 4, North Ward have their first homegame of the year on Thursday night at the Sports Reserve where they will host Western Suburbs as they return from their bye.

Round 4 in the Kinetic Women's competition had Teachers West up against North Ward at Mike Carney Toyota Park. For the North Ward ladies, it was tough battle as Ellie Gray scored using her speed to out pace her defenders early, not long after teammate Chloe Sobieralski found the white line to open the score for the Bulldogs early on. After marching down the field North ward try their luck for the line but unfortunately came up short which set up Katrena Odell to score a back-to-back double 5 pointer. Having many opportunities

to score, North Ward would fall short with handling errors costly. As full time came closer and closer, Teachers West were not done yet and Anjeleah Corrigan went over to score a brace, both from barrelling runs up the guts of North Ward's defensive line. Round 5 will see North Ward at home where they will face off against Western Suburbs on a Thursday night fixture while Teachers West take their well deserved break heading into the Easter holiday long weekend before returning for round 6 on the 15th of April.

Round 4 of the Kinetic Womens Competion had Brothers going up against the Burdekin PinkToads. Starting off, Hayley Crawford opened

the scoring for Brothers as she busted through the line for a run away try. The PinkToads did well to hold Brothers out for a while but unfortunately a missed tackle is all that was needed for Elisabeth Matthers to increase the score for her team. Two back to back tries from Hayley Crawford set up her teammate, Jane Schefe to run it straight up the middle and score under the sticks as she was momentarily backed up by another try courtesy of her front row

partner Chloe Kelly. After many attempts, Burdekin looked like they were going to add some points on the board but unfortunately just fell short, this assisted Emma Hannigan in getting both of her back to back run away tries. Brothers were not done their though as captain Julia Douglas used her speed and fast footwork to break through the defensive and scored twice under the sticks to finish off the game with a commanding lead to her team. Brothers will go into the Easter break with 3 wins and 1 loss while the PinkToads look to come back after the Easter break ready to rip in as they are still chasing thier first win.
