Before the start of Covid, my father and I made the decision to go swimming at Aluva. One of his friends made the suggestion to him to sign up for the same. Thus, we started swimming in February of 2019. I had always wanted to learn swimming, so I was really looking forward to it. I started going there every day at five in the morning with my father because I thought it was a great opportunity. After the swimming lesson, dad leaves me off at school and then drives to NPOL, where he works. Without fail, we went swimming, but by the time the major pandemic, Covid arrived, our swimming had ended. Covid provided a significant break for both of us and the visitors to Aluva. Like everyone else, I had nothing else to do during Covid and was very disappointed that I couldn't go swimming. As the months went by, COVID was gradually decreasing, and we eventually resumed swimming. There, I had

a really wonderful experience. My dad and I were able to socialise, establish friends, and take care of one another. There were parents, grandparents and children. Like a family, everyone there got along well. After a lot of training and effort I was at the stage of perfection and decided to cross the Aluva Periyar River in May 2022.It was a great experience to swim across the river. The friends I made there also started cheering for me. It made me more motivated and I pushed to my limits and at last I did succeed. Indeed, this is my greatest accomplishment to date. I then received a few awards. All praise goes to Saji Valasseril, who helped my father and me throughout. My family has been really supportive of me during this entire process. I thank my Principal and teachers for supporting me during the time. I then encouraged my family and friends to join the swimming club. I recommend everyone to learn to swim as it will come in handy someday. Everyone will benefit greatly from the chance.
