STAR MOMENTS FROM OUR FACULTY The MOT Class of 2022 is the first cohort of MOT students which I (Dr. Coviello), as a member of the Temple OT faculty had the chance to serve as an instructor/Academic FW Coordinator from start to finish, so this class will always be special/memorable to me. I will remember Human Dynamics lab, as the first in-person course that I taught (as a lab assistant). Proof includes a photo of myself and Maggie Slonaker (& others) that I taught vital sign monitoring in full PPE. My ever present “Positivity” and “Putting Positive Thinking out to the Universe”especially as related to finding PEO sites and getting all students’ clearances processed.

Dr.Coviello

Although I never worked in a Pediatric setting, I was able to support (3) students (Myrna, Morgan Zurlo, & Quintina) during PEO lab and Level I A FW at Little Leaders Institute LLC during the fall 2020->spring 2021 semesters in-person for (20) visits. This opportunity permitted me the chance to role model life-long learning and it’s an amazing feeling to see how much the children looked forward to our visits. The time I held back tears when introducing my colleague, Dr. Fatima Chehouri Nasser, OTD,OTR, Director of OTC – Lebanon and President of Lebanese OT Syndicate to the class during Zoom OT Service Delivery and OT Management Summer I 2021 term. I had not seen Dr. Chehouri – Nasser since the COVID-19 pandemic began and I was surprised by my reaction to seeing her image on screen. My incessant need to take screen shots! Sarah Cummings: “Dr. Coviello!” During Brittany Cowan, Sarah, and my presentation at POTA conference, when I inadvertently tried to take a screen shot of our presentation while I was sharing my screen. Finding out the Morgan Maksym works at the local Italian Market that I frequent, taking a selfie, and introducing her to my neighbor (who was also shopping at the same time). Scrubbing the kitchen at Haven House (located in a farm house built in the 1800’s) with Leigh Wolfrum and Dr. Pugh in 90+ degree heat and no air conditioning.

Three words . . . COFFEE. WITH. CONNOR. Of course, there was the day I FINALLY got to meet everyone in person. And then Lori outed Rachel. Hmm, is it a coincidence that it was all part of Coffee With Connor? You are the first class with whom I have shared my love of quilting. Warnings that "Prison Susan" might show her face, but she never did lol. Our COTAD chapter!!!

Dr.Connor

STAR MOMENTS FROM OUR FACULTY

Dr.Gargin

Some memories I have include: Navigating the pandemic! Your class was the first back on campus - and we managed with gloves, masks, and face shields! You were always flexible and appreciated whatever time we could be in person. Always volunteering to help whether it was interview days, service opportunities or making the academic festival special for the M2s last year. Movement analysis presentations on zoom and my kids participating in all the kahoots. No one would ask me if I was engaged. You had to text a M2 to ask me!

Meeting you all in January in person with all of us having masks and shields and moving around the lab space to try to get to know you all on crutches.

Actually getting in the field with my research students to complete measurement at the preschool!

Dr.Lynch

STAR MOMENTS FROM OUR FACULTY

I have said it once and I will say it again, the final day of Assistive Technology where you all were presenting the culmination of 6 weeks of hard work was one of my fondest memories with you all as a class. You were all so proud of your own team and others. As if it couldn't get better,

Dr.AbbottGaffney

the faculty from Tyler walked into the room and I was brought nearly to tears. And of course, as we wrapped up Assistive Technology and I posted a robust slide asking "How do I do this? When can I expect to 'feel good' about this? Will I make a difference?" To which Joe Mathis replied "No. I don't have any questions."

STAR MOMENTS FROM OUR FACULTY

I will always remember your cohort as the “COVID cohort” that willingly joined our program knowing you would be largely hybrid and the future of in-person activities was unclear. To me, this speaks to your collective motivation to become OTs, no matter the challenges and uncertainties to get there. I have seen incredible flexibility in your cohort always matched with professionalism and patience. I know this will serve you well in your future careers. You were the first cohort back on campus for Human Dynamics Lab and the first to donning full PPE for labs under strict physical distancing policies. Again, you were all flexible, and professional as you just rolled with what was needed to get lab done. Now you are all PPE pros! One of my favorite parts of any cohort is always the student led research courses. I will fondly remember how flexible my homeless health initiative group was with our on again and off again in person programming. Although we did not get to do nearly as much in person delivery as expected, our session at the Bucks County YWCA will remain a fond memory. Another great memory of being in-person with your cohort was volunteering at the Haven House. You all worked hard in the heat and shared some great laughs as we struggled to assemble furniture, pain the porch and tidy up the living areas. Your cohort also went above and beyond to collect donations for the women and children residing there to help make their daily lives filled with meaningful occupations.
