The gabb Organized Business Startup System About this Program

What is a business? A business is a legal entity. In a way, it operates like a person, with its own identification number, its own money, and its own personality (brand). A small, creative business fills 3 needs: ● ● ●

Connection: by deeply serving its customers Creativity: by providing an outlet and support for its owner’s creative life Stability: by creating financial and emotional stability for the owner

In this program In this program, you will be learning an organized approach to getting your small business up and running. The system makes sure that your business is grounded in each aspect — that you are making money, that your customers feel deeply cared for, and that your business gives you the freedom and time to nurture your own creative process. This program is for people who are knowledgeable in their field, who are professional, and who don’t have a lot of money to waste. It gives you direction and focus so you can build cash, momentum, and a feeling of success.

What is a business process? The overall structure of this course is to build out 6 business processes. A process is something that you can repeat, improve upon, automate, or outsource. For example, let’s take a look at the process of setting up an appointment. When you first get started, you might note your appointments in a daily planner. With just a few clients, that’s an easy system to maintain. However, once you start meeting with more people, that system might not work as well. You might not always have your appointment book with you. You might not be very consistent at texting, calling, or emailing a reminder for each meeting, and then your clients may miss meetings that are important to your business.. To automate, speed up, and improve upon this appointment making process, you could use an online calendar. That way, you ©2021 Get a Bigger Boat, LLC All Rights Reserved

The gabb Organized Business Startup System About this Program can make appointments using an app on your phone. Since you always have your phone with you, you can make an appointment any time. That’s an improvement on the old process. This system also automates the appointment reminder process, because the online calendar can be set up to send reminders automatically.

Great processes work for you A great process is one that works for you. Some people enjoy using computers and other people don’t. I used to work in engineering, so I am very comfortable using computers. I have clients who prefer to write things down on paper. Computers confuse them and their minds don’t work that way. The goal of this course isn’t to get everyone creating the same systems that work for me. A computerized system you don’t know how to use isn’t better than a paper one. The goal of this course is to teach you how to create systems that work for you. That is how you build a unique business that you feel in control of and can grow. I will be sharing my experiences and there are some processes that I use in my business that I’ll require you to use during the course, such as placing files in specific folders. That’s because those are part of my process. By using my systems, it will give you an opportunity to see what is working for me, and a chance to try out some ideas and software you might not have used before.

The 6 business processes This program organizes your business into 6 processes that you grow in sequence. These are: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6.

Get a business: Executive Process Get a product to sell: Product Development Process Sell it: Sales Process Count Your Money: Accounting Process Deliver on Your Promises: Product Delivery Process Grow Your Business: Marketing Process

Executive process The Executive Process is the part that you, as the owner of your business, will always oversee. If your company were to really expand, you might hire managers to manage all the other processes in your business, but you would always be the person with the vision for your business. As the executive, you are responsible for handling all the important paperwork, such as tax filings, or renewing business permits, to keep your business running ethically and legally. You also set the direction of your company, deciding what new markets to go into, new products to create, and which areas of your business to trim back upon.

Product development process Product Development is one of the most creative aspects of your business. In this course, you will learn the gabb design methods, drawn from professional design systems. This program has been modified to make it easier to apply and to add steps for creative inspiration important to creating your unique, visionary program.

Sales process Sales is the heart of every business, and it’s especially important in a teaching business. Sales is how you create relationships. To build a great brand, you have to know your customer’s needs and create trust so that they will continue to do business with you. The art of selling has many facets. There are high-pressure sales (think car sales) and entertaining types of sales. In this program, you learn relationship sales. Relationship sales is a system for creating trust and strong, ongoing professional relationships with your clients.

Accounting process The accounting process involves all things money — processing credit and debit card payments, managing your checking account, procuring loans, and bookkeeping. To be an ethical business person, you must handle your money with integrity. This is a very important process to stay on top of. You must manage the money that your customers give you with respect, in order to earn and keep their trust. Accounting tells the story of your business. When you go to apply for loans or share a business plan with an investor, they will want to see your books showing how you spend money and make money.

Product delivery process In my experience as a business coach, product delivery is the process that makes my clients finally feel that they can make a living from their business. Product delivery is simply delivering on the promises you make. It means following up on emails and phone calls. It means uploading documents into folders. Good product delivery systems help to ensure that every promise is fulfilled — the best way is to make it easy to fill the promise immediately.

Marketing process Marketing is the last process to build, but it’s often the first process that my clients focus on. Aspects of marketing are incredibly creative and fun: designing logos, posting on social media, and building websites. Marketing’s function is to bring leads into your sales process. You must establish a system for converting leads into customers before you begin marketing, because otherwise you are generating interest, but have no way to create a deeper relationship with your clients that actually gets them to buy from you. Your marketing must be tailored to the customers you want to attract. Once you know who your customers are, you can design materials that appeal to those people — and you can begin measuring how effective your work is by looking at metrics.

The gabb Organized Business Startup System About this Program

The 3 stages of business success This module is the first of 3 modules. By the end of the complete course, you should have a business that is fully launched.

The 3 modules To grow a business, each process needs to become more efficient. In this program, you go through the laps of growing your business 3 times, refining all 6 processes in sequence.

Stage 1: Tugboat — find your students I call this stage “throwing spaghetti at the wall.” It’s the least efficient stage of business and, emotionally, the most difficult to get through because you do not know who your customers are. I keep this stage of the program short and action-oriented so you can have quick success, stay motivated to keep going, and see the clear progress. This program quickly teaches you the complete cycle of building all 6 processes in order so that you can learn the system and apply it effectively in the next stage.

Stage 2: Sailboat — find your teaching voice Now that you have a few students, you can start to build out more efficient systems to serve them. In this stage you are focusing on creating fantastic customer service and finding your voice as a teacher as you connect to the students you are meant to teach. You are growing your skills in sales and cultivating a list of students who see your program as an investment in their own future.

Stage 3: Sailboat — build an end to end teaching system The 3rd stage of your business is when it starts to really grow and take off. In this stage, you finish your complete teaching curriculum, have students that are engaged with your learning and ready to take more in-depth programs. You will have great online systems to deliver your training both in person and through professional media. Financially, your business will be making money and you will be able to apply for grants, loans, and government contracts to fund your business.
