Under The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, employers, landlords and business owners in England and Wales are legally responsible for thefire safety of anybody who works at, or visits theirpremises. In Scotland this is known as The Fire Safety Regulations 2006. Since our incorporation in 1970, we have expanded our portfolio of products and services to reflect our clients growing and varying needs. OUR SERVICES WHY DO WE NEED TO MAINTAIN INTRUDER ALARM SYSTEMS Insurance companies insist that all intruder alarm sytems are regularly maintained, which means that they must have a maintenance contract from a third party approved company. INTRUDER ALARMS WHY DO WE NEED TO MAINTAIN FIRE ALARM SYSTEMS? Insurance companies insist that all fire detection and alarm systems are regularly maintained, which means that they must have a maintenance contract from a third party approved company. BS5839, the British Standard for Fire Detection and Alarm Systems, recommends that systems are maintained 2 or 4 times per year.

SUSTAINABILITY Amalgamated Ltd. is committed to continuing sustainable development of its business activities by ensuring it meets the needs of clients, legislation, regulation and society in general with the use of responsible business policies, legal compliance, operational systems and accreditations. With independent verification by Third-party certification bodies, we endeavour to provide world-class quality products and offer first-class client services; system design, installation, servicing and maintenance. We procure staffing, materials and components from ethical and sustainable sources. Components include high quality electronic parts, circuit boards and interconnecting cables, enabling the finished product to have a long lifecycle. We work to the accepted rules of ethical business conduct and as such, are committed to high ethical standards in our business dealings to ensure the integrity of our organisation and employees is always maintained. Developments in manufacture have led to reductions in resources during the products’ lifecycle, based upon other similar products and systems. End of commercial life products are then processed and 100% recycled or diverted from landfill. Business continuity processes are in place, which analyse major risks to the business. These are categorised in priority and relevant mitigation measures are put in place. These are subject to continual review through the business Integrated Management System which incorporates ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001 systems, recognised Industry Schemes and Customer-led appraisal schemes. Last year Amalgamated carried out an analysis of our carbon footprint and identified an opportunity to reduce our carbon emissions through investment in electric vehicles. Since then, we have developed a carbon reduction strategy to transition from the current diesel cars driven by our management team, and as a result we are proud to say that 50% of our management team’s vehicles are now fully electric. We are committed to driving this initiative further with the aim of achieving 100% of our management team’s vehicles being electric. In addition to this we have also switched our engineering fleet to low emission VW transporter vans which have a CO2 rating of 125g/km, further reducing our carbon footprint
