Nativity of Our Lord Isaiah 9:1-6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government will be upon his shoulder, and his name will be called “Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Psalms 96:1-3, 11-13 Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; let the sea roar, and all that fills it; let the field exult, and everything in it! Titus 2:11-14 For the grace of God has appeared for the salvation of all men… Luke 2:1-14 And the angel said to them, “Be not afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy which will come to all the people; for to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”
NOTE TO PARISHIONERS AND VISITORS: Did you get your copy of “Resisting Happiness” by Matthew Kelly last weekend? It is a gift from these wonderful members of St. Mark’s Altar Rosary Society (shown above) and our Holy Name Society. As we join Altar Rosary members, Helen Hopkins and Pilar Kowitski (below) in singing Christmas carols, we celebrate the Birth of Our Savior, Jesus Christ! We want you to take that joy with you. So whether you are a parishioner or visitor, please take home a book! It is estimated that one-third of the people attending Christmas Masses here this weekend only come once a year. Sometimes all it takes to bring them back to attending Mass every Sunday is the right book at the right time. We hope that “Resisting Happiness” is that book and that Christmas Day is the right day!

Mary’s Child Pro-Life Ministry is chartering a bus to Washington D.C. to join people from all over the country in peaceful protest against legalized abortion! This is an AMAZING, UPLIFTING experience for both the old and young! Since the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision on January 22, 1973, over 60 million babies have been “terminated” by legal abortion in the U.S. alone.
Each day in the U.S. about 3,300 babies are aborted. Be a voice for the voiceless and get on the bus! Departure from St. Catharine’s Church in Spring Lake is on January 27th, at approximately 7:15 AM (immediately after 6:45 AM Mass). Return home at about 9:30 PM.
