Good connectivity from city from north eastern part while still having a quiet zone in interiors and opening out towards vegetation and farm lands in south and east sides. Slope towards the water channel, allowing all water of site to drain off in western side. In the vicinity of various educational institutes Assam has rich cultural and natural heritage, increasing the design values

Jorhat is one of the major cities of Assam. Jorhat acts as a gateway to upper Assam and to the state of Nagaland. It was the last capital of the Ahom Kingdom and home to many historical monuments of Assamese culture. In the north of the district, the Brahmaputra River forms the largest riverine island of the world, Majuli, which spreads over 924.6 square kilometres with a population of about 150,000. The island, threatened with constant erosion by the mighty and unstable Brahmaputra River, had been the principal place of pilgrimage of Vaishnavites since the age of the Ahom rulers. Several Sattras (monasteries) resembling those of medieval times are headed by Satradhikars teaching Vaishnavism, which was introduced by Srimanta Sankardeva (1449-1568). Each Sattra has an unknown wealth of Vaishnavite scriptures and extensive revenue-free lands cultivated by the Bhakats (celebated monks) of the Sattras. The cultural diversities which prevailed in Jorhat nearly a century ago has inspired the people to participate in cultural activities through the decades and as a result Jorhat has been able to produce many creative writers, musician, actors, historians and journalists, terming Jorhat "The Cultural Capital of Assam"

In July the highest number of daily hours of sunshine is measured in Jorhat on average. In July there is an average of 9.4 hours of sunshine a day and a total of 291.26 hours of sunshine throughout July. In January, the lowest number of daily hours of sunshine is measured in Jorhat on average. In January there are an average of 7.39 hours of sunshine per day and a total of 229.08 hours of sunshine. Around 3122.4 hours of sunshine are counted in Jorhat throughout the year. On average there are 102.65 hours of sunshine per month. Summer starts here at the end of June and ends in September. There are the months of summer: June, July, August, September.

The climate in Jorhat is warm and temperate. The summers here have a good deal of rainfall, while the winters have very little. The climate here is classified as Cwa by the Köppen-Geiger system. The temperature here averages 23.7 °C or 74.7 °F. About 2699 mm or 106.3 inch of precipitation falls annually. The driest month is December, with 12 mm or 0.5 inch of rain. Most of the precipitation here falls in July, averaging 489 mm or 19.3 inch. August is the warmest month of the year. The temperature in August averages 28.1 °C or 82.6 °F. January is the coldest month, with temperatures averaging 17.2 °C or 63.0 °F. There is a difference of 477 mm or 19 inch of precipitation between the driest and wettest months. Throughout the year, temperatures vary by 10.9 °C or 19.7 °F.

MICROCLIMATE The close proximity of site from Bhogdoi River (1.5 km) and huge Brahmaputra River (10 Km) makes the already high humid area even more higher. In addition, nearby waterbodies like the lake and canal also cools the approaching breeze. Dense Vegetation on the Eastern Side will block most of the morning sunlight and increase dew, frost and humidity. Heavy traffic area is leading to smog. Close proximity from gardens from south west bring fresh aroma in institute, cancelling out pollution from traffic canal.

Isolated from the main plateau by the embayments of the Kepili River, the upland there displays a rugged topography. For the given site, the extreme level ranges from 92 mts. ( West ) to 105 mts. (North East & South East). Thus, making an overall slope from East to West of 13 mts.
