MENTAL HEALTH WEBINAR Department of Educational Psychology & Counselling Webinar Series - Airlangga University, Indonesia The Department Of Educational Psychology and Counselling of University Malaya, in collaboration with t h e F a c u l t y o f P s y c h o l o g y, Airlangga University, is organising a series of Mental Health Webinars from 3rd December until 15th December 2021. This webinar will be coordinated by Dr. Ida Hartina Ahmed Tharbe together with Dr. Nurul Hartini from Airlangga University. They also organise various webinar activities, seminars and workshops with students and lecturers at both universities. Seminar Presentation activity involves students from Bachelor of Counselling, Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, Master of Professional Counselling and Master of Early Childhood Education. Participating lecturers are Prof Dr. Loh Sau Cheong (Special Need Education), Dr. Mohd Nazri Abdul Rahman (Early Childhood Education) and Dr. Norsafatul Aznin A.Razak (Family Counselling) from the University of Malaya. Handing over Teaching & Learning Devices iPAD and TAB officiated by Datin Fauziah Idris (President Selangor Association Mentally Challenged – SAMH) on the 17th November 2021 at Wisma Harapan. Also Dr. Mohd Nazri Bin Abdul Rahman., Head of Department, Educational Psychology & Counseling witnessed the program which 10 units of iPAD & TAB were presented to special needs children from 5-8 years old from the category of Autism, Down Syndrome, Dyslexic and Cerebral palsy. This program intention is to enhance special needs children to explore their learning skills through e-Learning, Mobile Learning or Digital Platform in all aspect of their Daily Life Skills. IT or Computer Assisted Instruction [CAI] is current era and trend for children any age to booster their knowledge – skills and mental capacity.

Experiential learning for students By Vishalache Balakrishnan

In line with deep philosophy learning with real-life experiences, several undergraduate, post graduate diploma dan doctoral students participated as volunteers during the squash Asian Team Championship 2021. They came from the Faculty of Education, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, and Centre for Sport & Exercise Science. Students were volunteering for five whole days, helping in duties such as life streaming, logistics and transport, food and beverage management, registration of public crowd and players as well as media coverage. The experien ces that th e volunteers received was invaluable. They were putting their soft skills

to practice and learning to work in an environment that was totally different from their formal lecture setting. Associate Professor Dr. Vishalache Balakrishnan as the Head for Volunteers has been coordinating volunteers for Squash Racquets Association of Malaysia (SRAM) since 2017 during the SEA Games. Practising what she teaches in SULAM@Service Learning Malaysia, Dr Visha is happy that SRAM provided a golden opportunity for the students from Universiti Malaya to participate in the voluntary service. The experience and knowledge gained makes the students holistic and more prepared for work life.

INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON EDUCATION (ICE2021) The Department of Educational Management, Planning and Policy, Faculty of Education, University of Malaya has proudly organized a great success of an international conference level named International Conference on Education or ICE2021. This conference is a joint collaboration with College of Education, National Chung Cheng University Taiwan and was held on 18 November 2021 (Thursday) with targeted participants from variety background of educators, researchers, academicians and postgraduate students. The ICE2021 conference coincides with the theme of ‘Quality Education for Social Development’ aimed for a good sharing session about the latest findings and views on the various aspects of education and social development growth to improve students’ knowledge and skills for the 21st century. With the fully online method via Google Meet platform, ICE2021 was successfully participated with about 80 participants from local and international (as the presenters or participants). The ICE2021 started with a very good sharing session from 3 keynote speakers who are expert in Educational Leadership and Management field, followed by forum session and parallel session from the presenters. The conference successfully ended with an announcements related to the best papers and presenters. Congratulations to the all committees, presenters and participants for a good cooperation and teamwork!
