PURE AIR DRYER REPAIR KIT INSTRUCTIONS ! WARNING When working on air system components the following precautions should be observed. 1. Stop engine when working under a vehicle. Always block the vehicle wheels to prevent a fore or aft roll. Bleeding off system air pressure may cause the vehicle to roll. Keep hands away from brake chamber push rods and slack adjusters; they may apply as system pressure drops.

2. Never connect or disconnect a hose or line containing air pressure. It may whip as air escapes. Never remove a component or a pipe plug unless you are certain all system air pressure has been exhausted. 3. Never exceed recommended working air pressure and always wear safety glasses when working with air pressure. Never look directly into component ports or direct a pressurized air flow at anyone. 4. Never attempt to disassemble a component until you have read and understood all recommended procedures. Some components contain powerful springs and injury can result if not properly disassembled. Use only proper tools and observe all precautions pertaining to the use of those tools.

The Pure Air Dryer can be completely overhauled while installed on the vehicle, if there is adequate clearance from either end: 14" Clearance Required For Top End Servicing 12" Clearance Required For Bottom End Servicing LUBRICATE ALL "O"-RINGS AND SEALS PRIOR TO SERVICING 1. Drain all air from the vehicle reservoirs. Loosen the line on the dryer marked "inlet" to ensure no pressure remains in the unit. Completely disconnect the inlet and outlet lines and move them to one side. 2. Using a 1.5" wrench, remove the check valve end cap. Remove the spring and valve disc. Discard disc. Remove the "O"-Ring from the cap. Discard the "O"-Ring.

SERVICING THE PURE AIR DRYER FROM THE INLET/OUTPUT END (CONT’D) 3. Remove the six 1/2" hex flange nuts retaining the top cover. Tap the cover lightly with a plastic or brass hammer to loosen. Lift off the top cover. Remove the spring from the top of the desiccant follower, clean and set aside. 4. Pull the center cylinder from the unit. The intermediate aluminum cylinder will come out with the center cylinder.

SERVICING THE PURE AIR DRYER FROM THE INLET/OUTPUT END (CONT’D) 8. To reassemble the lower cover (cont'd): c. Install new purge valve seat (Item 10 - Kit Contents). Start the purge valve screw by hand and torque to 50-80 in.lbs. d. Using the 1" O.D. nut as a tool, install the purge valve into the lower cover. Tighten and torque to 35-50 ft.lbs.

a. Remove the intermediate aluminum tube from the center cylinder unit.

e. Install purge exhaust elbow fitting with the three screws and torque the screws to 30-50 in.lbs.

b. Remove the "O"-Ring from the base of the center cylinder unit and discard.

f. Set aside the complete lower cover.

5. Disconnect the heater wires and governor purge valve air line from the lower cover and move them to one side.

9. Clean the interior of the dryer housing with a clean cloth. 10. To reinstall the lower cover:

6. Remove the six 1/2" hex flange nuts retaining the lower cover and tap the cover lightly with a plastic or brass hammer to loosen. Lift the cover off. Note: Do not remove the cover screw on the heater.

a. Install new lubricated "O"-Ring on the sealing flange of the lower cover (Item 3 - Kit Contents).

7. To service the lower cover:

b. Install the lower cover on the six bottom studs and press the cover into place.

a. Remove the purge exhaust elbow fitting by removing the three screws. b. Insert a 1" O.D. nut in the purge valve. c.

Using the nut as a tool, turn the purge valve counter-clockwise to remove.

d. Remove the center screw in the purge valve seat and discard the seat. e. Remove the "O"-Rings from the purge valve body and the purge piston. Discard both "O"-Rings. 8. To reassemble the lower cover: a. Clean the entire cover and purge valve components with a clean cloth. b. Install new lubricated "O"-Rings on the purge piston and purge valve body (Item 8 and Item 9 - Kit Contents).

c. Install the six 1/2" hex flange nuts and draw the cover up evenly. Tighten the nuts and torque to 100-150 in.lbs. 11. To service the desiccant canister: a. Remove the follower from the top of the desiccant. Clean and set aside for re-use. b. Pull the desiccant from the inner canister. Remove used loose desiccant by shaking it into a waste receptacle. c. Remove the screw retaining the filter element on the bottom of the center tube assembly. d. Discard the filter element. 12. To reassemble the desiccant canister: a. Clean the center tube unit and the intermediate cylinder with a clean cloth.

SERVICING THE PURE AIR DRYER FROM THE INLET/OUTPUT END (CONT’D) 12. To reassemble the desiccant canister (cont'd): b. Install a new filter element (Item 1 - Kit Contents) on the base of the center tube unit with the screw and plastic follower. Tighten the screw and torque to 60-90 in.lbs. c. Install a new lubricated "O"-Ring in the groove at the bottom of the center tube unit (Item 4 - Kit Contents). d. Insert a new desiccant bag (Item 2 - Kit Contents) in the center tube. Push or shake bag down until desiccant is seated in the bottom of the cylinder. e. Install desiccant follower with skirt side toward the desiccant bag. f. Install intermediate cylinder on center tube assembly making sure the "O"-Ring is not pinched when cylinder is seated.

OPERATIONAL CHECKS Once the unit is serviced and installed, close the reservoir drains, start the engine and build up pressure to 100 psi and shut off engine. Check for air leaks at the inlet and outlet of the dryer. Correct any leakage problem. Re-start engine and build up pressure to compressor cutout. At cutout pressure the dryer purge valve opens and immediately expells a large volume of air, followed by a slow flow of air lasting approximately thirty (30) seconds. Check for leakage at the purge governor port. To check operation of the heater, you must subject the unit to 32°F. At this temperature the thermostat is closed and the bottom housing should begin to feel warm. The temperature should continue to rise until the thermostat opens between 55-75°F. Before placing the vehicle back in service, close the reservoir drains and perform the following tests:

g. Insert entire assembly into dryer housing from the top. h. Position the spring on top of the desiccant follower. 13. To service the top cover:

1. Remove blocks from wheels and reconnect tractor to trailer. Reblock the tractor and trailer wheels. Charge the tractor air system. Activate the trailer fill valve in the tractor cab. Observe the trailer brakes applying and automatically releasing as the trailer reservoir(s) are filling (except for dolly applications which may use a non-charging type relay emergency valve).

a. Remove and discard all three "O"-Rings. 2. Adjust the trailer brakes. b. Clean the top cover and install three new lubricated "O"-Rings (Items 3, 4 and 5 - Kit Contents). c. Install the top cover on the six top studs and press the cover down into place.

3. Make several service brake applications and visually check for a brisk application and release of trailer brakes.

d. Install the six 1/2" hex flange nuts and draw cover down evenly. Tighten the nuts and torque to 100-150 in.lbs.

4. Make and hold a service brake application. Check for air pressure leakage at all fittings. A soap and water solution liberally applied to the connections is an excellent method for checking air pressure leakage. Tighten fittings, if required.

14. Install new check valve seal (Item 6 - Kit Contents) with rubber side down. Install check valve spring with smallest diameter toward the seal. 15. Install new lubricated "O"-Ring on check valve end cap (Item 7 - Kit Contents).

5. Release the service brake application. Place the vehicle park valve (in the tractor cab) in the park position. Observe full trailer brake application. Place the park valve in the drive (not parked) position, and observe full brake release.

Install end cap. Tighten and torque to 35-50 ft.lbs. Reconnect inlet, outlet and purge valve air lines. Reconnect heater wires. Proceed to operational checks.

6. Upon successful completion of the above tests, remove the wheel blocks.

Install new purge valve seat (Item 10 - Kit Contents). Start the purge valve screw by hand and torque to 50-80 in.lbs.

d. Using the 1" O.D. nut as a tool, install the purge valve into the lower cover. Tighten and torque to 35-50 ft.lbs. e. Install purge exhaust elbow fitting with the three screws and torque the screws to 30-50 in.lbs. f.

Set aside the complete lower cover.

6. Pull the center cylinder from the dryer. The intermediate aluminum cylinder must also be removed. 7. To service the desiccant canister:

b. Insert a 1" O.D. nut in the purge valve.

Pull the desiccant from the inner canister. Remove used loose desiccant by shaking it into a waste receptacle.

d. Remove the center screw in the purge valve seat and discard the seat.

d. Remove the screw retaining the filter element on the bottom of the center tube assembly.

e. Remove the "O"-Rings from the purge valve body and the purge piston. Discard both "O"-Rings.

Set aside entire assembly.

Discard the large "O"-Ring on the cover. 8. To reassemble the desiccant canister:

Install a new lubricated "O"-Ring in the groove at the bottom of the center tube unit. (Item 4 - Kit Contents)

Install the six 1/2" hex flange nuts and draw cover down evenly. Tighten the nuts and torque to 100-150 in.lbs.

d. Insert a new desiccant bag (Item 2 - Kit Contents) in the center tube. Push or shake bag down until desiccant is seated in the bottom of the cylinder.

d. Install new check valve seal (Item 6 - Kit Contents) with rubber side down. Install check valve spring with smallest diameter toward the seal.

e. Install desiccant follower with skirt side toward the desiccant bag.

e. Install new lubricated "O"-Ring on check valve end cap (Item 7 - Kit Contents).

f.

f. Install end cap. Tighten and torque to 35-50 ft.lbs.

Install intermediate cylinder on center tube assembly making sure the "O"-Ring is not pinched when cylinder is seated.

g. Set aside entire assembly. 9. To service the top cover: a. Remove inlet and outlet air lines and move to one side. b. Using a 1.5" wrench, remove the check valve end cap. Remove the spring and valve disc. Discard disc. Remove the "O"-Ring from the cap. Discard the "O"-Ring. c.

Remove the six 1/2" hex flange nuts retaining the cover. Tap the cover lightly with a plastic or brass hammer to loosen. Lift off the cover.

11. Retrieve desiccant assembly. Position the spring on the top of the desiccant follower. Insert the entire assembly into the dryer housing from the bottom. When inserted fully, the top cover "O"-Rings should retain the desiccant assembly. 12. To reinstall the lower cover: a. Install new lubricated "O"-Ring on the sealing flange of the lower cover. (Item 3 - Kit Contents) b. Install the lower cover on the six bottom studs and press the cover into place. c.

Install the six 1/2" hex flange nuts and draw the cover up evenly. Tighten the nuts and torque to 100-150 in.lbs.

d. Remove and discard all three "O"-Rings. 13. Reconnect inlet, outlet and purge valve air lines. e. Clean the top cover with a clean cloth. 14. Reconnect heater wires. f.

Clean the interior wall of the dryer housing. 15. Proceed to operational checks on reverse side.

10. To reassemble the top cover:

INSTRUCCIONES DE USO DEL JUEGO PARA REPARACIÓN DEL SECADOR PURE AIR

! ADVERTENCIA Se deben tomar las siguientes precauciones cuando se trabaje con componentes de sistemas de aire. 1. Detenga el motor cuando trabaje bajo un vehículo. Siempre asegure las ruedas del vehículo para prevenir un balanceo delantero o trasero. Sangre la presión del aire del sistema puede ocasionar que el vehículo ruede. Mantenga las manos alejadas de la cámara de frenos, de las bielas y de los ajustadores flojos; éstos se pueden activar mientras desciende la presión del sistema. 2. Nunca conecte o desconecte una manguera o conducto que contenga presión de aire. Ésta puede batirse mientras el aire se escapa. Nunca retira un componente o un plug de la tubería a menos que usted esté seguro de que toda la presión de aire del sistema se ha acabado.

3. Nunca exceda la presión de aire de trabajo recomendada y siempre utilice anteojos de protección cuando trabaje con la presión de aire. Nunca mire directamente dentro de los puertos del componente ni dirija una corriente de aire presurizada a alguien. 4. Nunca intente desmontar un componente hasta que haya leído y entendido todos los procedimientos recomendados. Al Secador Pure Air se le puede hacer servicio general en forma completa mientras está instalado en el vehículo, si existe un margen adecuado desde cada extremo: 14" de margen requerido para hacer el servicio al extremo superior 12" de margen requerido para hacer el servicio al extremo inferior LUBRIQUE TODOS LOS EMPAQUES DE HULE "O" Y SELLOS ANTES DE HACERLES EL SERVICIO 1. Drene todo el aire de los depósitos del vehículo. Afloje el conducto sobre el secador marcado "entrada" para asegurar que no permanezca presión en la unidad. Desconecte por completo los conductos de entrada y salida y muévalos hacia un lado. 2. Utilice una llave de 1.5", retire el tapón terminal de la válvula reguladora. Retire el resorte y el disco de la válvula. Deseche el disco. Retire el empaque de hule "O" del tapón. Deseche el empaque de hule "O".

CÓMO HACER EL SERVICIO AL SECADOR DEL PURE AIR DESDE EL EXTREMO DE ENTRADA/SALIDA (CONT.) 3. Retire las seis tuercas guías hexagonales de 1/2" que sujetan la cubierta superior. Golpee suavemente la cubierta con un martillo plástico o de latón para aflojarla. Despegue la parte superior de la cubierta. Retire el resorte de la parte superior de la tapa del desecante, límpielo y hágalo a un lado. 4. Hale el cilindro del centro de la unidad. El cilindro de aluminio intermedio saldrá con el cilindro del centro. a. Retire el tubo de aluminio intermedio de la unidad del cilindro del centro. b. Retire el empaque de hule "O" de la base de la unidad del cilindro del centro y deséchelo. 5. Desconecte los cables de calentamiento y el conducto de aire de la válvula de purga y gobernador de la cubierta inferior y muévalos a un lado. 6. Retire las seis tuercas guías hexagonales de 1/2" que sujetan la cubierta inferior y golpee suavemente la cubierta con un martillo plástico o de latón para aflojarla. Despegue la cubierta. Nota: No retire el tornillo de la cubierta sobre el calentador. 7. Para hacer servicio a la cubierta inferior:

Utilice la tuerca de 1" O.D. como una herramienta, y instale la válvula de purga dentro de la cubierta inferior. Ajuste y torsione a 35-50 pies/lbs. e. Instale el empalme del recodo de escape de purga con los tres tornillos y torsione los tornillos a 30-50 plg/lb. f.

Haga a un lado la cubierta inferior completa.

9. Limpie el interior del alojamiento del secador con un paño limpio. 10. Para montar de nuevo la cubierta inferior: a. Instale el nuevo empaque de hule "O" lubricado en la guía de sello de la cubierta inferior. (Artículo 3 - contenido del juego). b. Instale la cubierta inferior en las seis clavijas de terminal inferiores y presione la cubierta en su lugar. c.

Instale las seis tuercas guías hexagonales de 1/2" y gire la cubierta hacia arriba uniformemente. Ajuste las tuercas y torsione a 100-150 plg/lbs.

11. Para hacerle servicio al bote desecante:

a. Quite los tres tornillos para retirar el empalme del recodo de escape de purga.

a. Retire la tapa de la parte superior del desecante. Límpielo y hágalo a un lado para utilizarlo de nuevo.

b. Inserte una tuerca de 1" O.D. en la válvula de purga.

b. Hale el desecante del bote interior. Para retirar el desecante suelto, sacúdalo dentro de un recipiente para desechos.

c.

Utilice la tuerca como una herramienta, gire la válvula de purga en dirección de las agujas del reloj para retirarla.

d. Retire el tornillo del centro en el asiento de la válvula de purga y deseche el asiento. e. Retire los empaques de hule "O" del cuerpo de la válvula de purga y del pistón de purga. Deseche ambos empaques de hule "O". 8. Para montar de nuevo la cubierta inferior: a. Limpie toda la cubierta y los componentes de la válvula de purga con un paño limpio. b. Instale los nuevos empaques de hule "O" lubricados en el pistón de purga y en el cuerpo de válvula de purga (Artículo 8 y Artículo 9 Contenido del juego). c.

Instale el nuevo asiento de la válvula de purga (Artículo 10 Contenido del juego). Comience a atornillar la válvula de purga a mano y torsione a 50-80 plg/lb.

Retire el tornillo que sostiene el elemento del filtro en la parte inferior del montaje del tubo del centro.

d. Deseche el elemento del filtro. 12. Para montar de nuevo el bote del desecante: a. Limpie la unidad del tubo del centro y el cilindro intermedio con un paño limpio. b. Instale un nuevo elemento del filtro (Artículo 1 - Contenido del juego) sobre la base de la unidad del tubo del centro con el tornillo y la tapa plástica. Ajuste el tornillo y torsione a 60-90 plg/lbs. c.

Instale un nuevo empaque de hule "O" lubricado en la ranura en la parte inferior de la unidad del tubo del centro (Artículo 4 - Contenido del juego).

d. Inserte una nueva bolsa de desecante (Artículo 2 - Contenido del juego) en el tubo del centro. Empuje hacia abajo o sacuda la bolsa hasta que el desecante esté colocado en la parte inferior del cilindro.

CÓMO HACER EL SERVICIO AL SECADOR PURE AIR DESDE EL EXTREMO DE ENTRADA/SALIDA (CONT.) 12. Para montar de nuevo el bote del desecante (cont.): e. Instale la tapa del desecante con el lado del faldón hacia la bolsa de desecante. f.

Instale el cilindro intermedio sobre el montaje del tubo del centro, asegurándose de que el empaque de hule "O" no esté presionado cuando se coloque el cilindro.

REVISIONS DE FUNCIONAMIENTO por una lenta corriente de aire que dura aproximadamente treinta (30) segundos. Verifique si existen fugas en el puerto del regulador de purga. Para verificar el funcionamiento del calentador, la unidad debe estar a una temperatura de 32°F. En esta temperatura el termostato se cierra y el alojamiento inferior debería empezar a sentirse tibio. La temperatura debería continuar elevándose hasta que el termostato se abra entre 55-75° F.

g. Inserte el montaje completo dentro del alojamiento del secador de la parte superior.

Ante de colocar de nuevo al vehículo en servicio, cierre los drenajes de depósito y realice las siguientes pruebas:

h. Coloque el resorte en la parte superior de la tapa del desecante.

1. Retire los seguros de las ruedas y conecte de nuevo el tractor al remolque. Coloque de nuevo el seguro a las ruedas del tractor y del remolque. Cargue el sistema de aire del tractor. Active la válvula de llenado del remolque en la cabina del tractor. Observe que se apliquen los frenos al remolque y automáticamente se suelten mientras se llenan los depósitos del remolque (excepto aplicaciones con carretilla que pueden utilizar una válvula de emergencia de relé del tipo no cargable).

13. Para hacerle servicio a la cubierta superior: a. Retire y deseche los tres empaques de hule "O". b. Limpie la cubierta superior e instale los tres nuevos empaques de hule "O" lubricados (Artículos 3, 4 y 5 - Contenido del juego). c.

Instale la cubierta superior sobre las seis clavijas de terminal superiores y presione hacia abajo la cubierta para ponerla en su lugar.

d. Instale las seis tuercas guías hexagonales de 1/2" y gire la cubierta hacia abajo uniformemente. Ajuste las tuercas y torsione a 100-150 plg/lbs. 14. Instale el nuevo sello de la válvula reguladora (Artículo 6 - Contenido del juego) con el lado de hule hacia abajo. Instale el resorte de la válvula reguladora con el diámetro más pequeño hacia el sello. 15. Instale el nuevo empaque de hule "O" lubricado en el tapón terminal de la válvula reguladora (Artículo 7 - Contenido del juego). 16. Instale el tapón terminal. Ajuste y torsione a 35-50 pies/lbs. 17. Conecte de nuevo los conductos de aire de entrada y de salida de la válvula de purga. 18. Conecte de nuevo los cables de calentamiento. 19. Continúe con las revisiones de funcionamiento.

2. Ajuste los frenos del remolque. 3. Realice varias aplicaciones del freno de servicio y verifique en forma visual una aplicación enérgica y libere los frenos del remolque. 4. Realice y sostenga una aplicación de freno de servicio. Verifique fugas de presión de aire en todos los empalmes. Un excelente método para verificar si existen fugas de presión de aire es la aplicación abundante de una solución de agua con jabón a las conexiones. Ajuste los empalmes, si fuera necesario. 5. Libere la aplicación del freno de servicio. Coloque la palanca de estacionamiento del vehículo (en la cabina del tractor) en la posición estacionamiento. Aplique totalmente los frenos del remolque. Coloque la palanca de estacionamiento en la posición en marcha (no estacionamiento) y libere totalmente los frenos. 6. Después de completar en forma exitosa las pruebas anteriores, retire los seguros de las ruedas.

Luego de haber instalado y hecho servicio a la unidad, cierre los drenajes del depósito, inicie el motor y acumule la presión a 100 psi y cierre el motor. Verifique si existen fugas de aire en la entrada y salida del secador. Solucione cualquier problema de fugas. Reinicie el motor y acumule la presión para el cortacircuitos del compresor. Cuando se alcance la presión del cortacircuitos, la válvula de purga del secador se abre y expele inmediatamente una gran cantidad de aire, seguido

Se puede realizar la revisión general por completo del Secador Pure Air mientras está instalado en el vehículo, si existe un margen adecuado desde cada extremo: 14" Margen requerido para el servicio del extremo superior 12" Margen requerido para el servicio del extremo inferior LUBRIQUE TODOS LOS EMPAQUES DE HULE "O" Y SELLOS ANTES DE HACER EL SERVICIO 1. Drene todo el aire de los depósitos del vehículo. Afloje el conducto sobre el secador marcado como "entrada" para asegurar que ninguna presión permanezca en la unidad. 2. Desconecte los cables de calor y depure el conducto de aire de la cobertura inferior y muévalos hacia un lado. 3. Retire las tuercas guías hexagonales de 1/2" sin quitar la cubierta inferior. Golpee suavemente la cubierta con un martillo plástico o de latón para aflojarla. Baje la cubierta. 4. Para hacer servicio a la cubierta inferior: a. Quite los tres tornillos para retirar el empalme del recodo del escape de purga. b. Inserte una tuerca de 1" O.D. en la válvula de purga. c.

Utilice la tuerca como una herramienta y gire la válvula de purga en dirección de las agujas del reloj para retirarla.

d. Retire el tornillo del centro en el asiento de la válvula de purga y deseche el asiento. e. Retire los empaques de hule "O" del cuerpo de la válvula de purga y del pistón de purga. Deseche ambos empaques de hule "O". f.

Deseche el empaque de hule "O" grande de la cubierta.

5. Para montar de nuevo la cubierta inferior: a. Limpie toda la cubierta y los componentes de la válvula de purga con un paño limpio. b. Instale los nuevos empaques de hule "O" lubricados en el pistón de purga y en el cuerpo de válvula de purga (Artículo 8 y Artículo 9 Contenido del juego).

5. Para montar de nuevo la cubierta inferior (cont.): c.

Instale el nuevo asiento de la válvula de purga (Artículo 10 Contenido del juego). Comience a atornillar la válvula de purga a mano y torsione a 50-80 plg/lb.

d. Utilice la tuerca de 1" O.D. como una herramienta, y instale la válvula de purga dentro de la cubierta inferior. Ajuste y torsione a 35-50 pies/lbs. e. Instale el empalme del recodo de escape de purga con los tres tornillos y torsione los tornillos a 30-50 plg/lb. f.

Haga a un lado la cubierta inferior completa.

6. Hale el cilindro del centro del secador. También se debe retirar el cilindro de aluminio intermedio. 7. Para hacerle servicio al bote de desecante: a. Retire el resorte de la parte superior de la tapa del desecante. Límpielo y hágalo a un lado para utilizarlo de nuevo. b. Retire la tapa de la parte superior del desecante. Límpielo y hágalo a un lado para utilizarlo de nuevo. c.

Hale el desecante del bote interior. Para retirar el desecante suelto, sacúdalo dentro de un recipiente para desechos.

d. Retire el tornillo que sujeta el elemento del filtro en la parte inferior del montaje del tubo del centro. e. Deseche el elemento del filtro. f.

Haga a un lado el ensamble completo.

8. Para montar de nuevo el bote de desecante: a. Limpie la unidad del tubo del centro y el cilindro intermedio con un paño limpio. b. Instale un nuevo elemento del filtro (Artículo 1 - Contenido del juego) sobre la base de la unidad del tubo del centro con el tornillo y la tapa plástica. Ajuste el tornillo y torsione a 60-90 plg/lbs. c.

Instale un nuevo empaque de hule "O" lubricado en la ranura en la parte inferior de la unidad del tubo del centro (Artículo 4 Contenido del juego).

8. Para montar de nuevo el bote del desecante (cont.):

10. Para montar de nuevo la cubierta superior (cont.):

d. Inserte una nueva bolsa de desecante (Artículo 2 - Contenido del juego) en el tubo del centro. Empuje hacia abajo o sacuda la bolsa hasta que el desecante esté colocado en la parte inferior del cilindro.

d. Instale el nuevo sello de la válvula reguladora (Artículo 6 - contenido del juego) con el lado de hule hacia abajo. Instale el resorte de la válvulai reguladora con el diámetro más pequeño hacia el sello.

e. Instale la tapa del desecante con el lado del faldón hacia la bolsa de desecante.

e. Instale el nuevo empaque de hule "O" lubricado en el tapón terminal de la válvula reguladora (Artículo 7 - Contenido del juego).

f.

Instale el cilindro intermedio sobre el montaje del tubo del centro, asegurándose de que el empaque de hule "O" no esté presionado cuando se coloque el cilindro.

g. Haga a un lado el montaje completo. 9. Para hacerle servicio a la cubierta superior: a. Retire los conductos de aire de entrada y salida y muévalos hacia un lado. b. Utilice una llave de 1.5", retire el tapón terminal de la válvula reguladora. Retire el resorte y el disco de la válvula. Deseche el disco. Retire el empaque de hule "O" del tapón. Deseche el empaque de hule "O". c.

Retire las seis tuercas guías hexagonales de 1/2" que sujetan la cubierta. Golpee suavemente la cubierta con un martillo plástico o de latón para aflojarla. Despegue la cubierta.

d. Retire y deseche los tres empaques de hule "O". e. Limpie con un paño limpio la cubierta superior. f.

Limpie la pared interior del alojamiento del secador.

10. Para montar de nuevo la cubierta superior:

Instale el tapón termnal. Ajuste y torsione a 35-50 pies/lbs.

11. Recupere el montaje del desecante. Coloque el resorte en la parte superior de la tapa del desecante. Inserte el montaje completo dentro del alojamiento del secador de la parte inferior. Cuando estén completamente insertados, los empaques de hule "O" de la cubierta superior deberían retener el montaje del desecante. 12. Para instalar de nuevo la cubierta inferior: a. Instale el nuevo empaque de hule "O" lubricado en la guía de sello de la cubierta inferior. (Artículo 3 - Contenido del juego). b. Instale la cubierta inferior sobre las seis clavijas de terminal inferiores y presione la cubierta en su lugar. c.

Instale las seis tuercas guías hexagonales de 1/2" y gire la cubierta hacia arriba uniformemente. Ajuste las tuercas y torsione a 100-150 plg/lbs.

13. Conecte de nuevo los conductos de aire de la válvula de entrada, de salida y de purga. 14. Conecte de nuevo los cables de calentamiento. 15. Continúe con las revisiones de funcionamiento del reverso.

a. Instale los tres empaques de hule "O" nuevos lubricados (Artículos 3, 4 y 5 - Contenido del juego) en la cubierta superior. b. Instale la cubierta superior sobre las seis clavijas de terminal superiores y presione hacia abajo la cubierta para ponerla en su lugar. c.
