5 Tips Handling Hazardous Waste Improperly handling toxic waste could release harmful chemicals into the air, groundwater, or soil, posing a serious threat to your employees, the environment and any surrounding residences.

Conduct a thorough Risk Assessment (RA) before carrying out any work with chemicals. Ensure all relevant safe work procedures (SWP) are in place. Provide the training and information necessary for your employees to work safely and healthily. Communicate with your employees on the hazards involved and the precautionary measures to take if they are exposed to hazardous chemicals. Such hazard communication can be done through safety data sheets (SDS) and container labels of the chemicals.
