Deuces Wild - Dueling Pianos

Tribute to Journey Wednesday, February 9 7:00pm Grab your friends and neighbors for a fun night with a tribute to one of the most iconic bands in music.

Wednesday, February 23 7:00pm Dave Eichholz and Ted Manderfeld are Deuces Wild Dueling Pianos. For over 19 years they have traveled coast to coast in the USA, Canada, Panama and Mexico as the most sought after dueling piano act in the country. Their high energy mix of comedy, music and extensive audience participation makes this a show unlike any other! Clap along, laugh along and sing along with Dave & Ted, Deuces Wild!

Each show - $20 per person Bring your own lawn chair. No coolers. Portable Bar Available Please refrain from placing chairs on the lawn until after 10:30am on Tuesday before the event. Do not park golf carts at the Town Center by the Amphitheater after 2:00pm on the day of the event. Make your reservations to attend. Log in to the Pelican Preserve Town Center website and click on the Event Calendar.

Destinations Concert Menu 5:00 - 6:30pm Regular dinner service will not be available on this evening. Residents do not need concert reservations in order to enjoy the a la carte menu. Watch for emails on concert menu.

Please include the names of all members in your party when making your reservation. Any names not included will be charged to your Town Center account. Cancelations are required 24 hours in advance or your account will be charged. Join Latitude in their tribute to famous duets. Singing, dancing and great times will be had by all who attend this great show done by one of our favorite local groups.

How to Enroll in Auto-Pay for the Town Center For the added convenience of Pelican Preserve Residents and our Town Center accounting team, we encourage all Pelican Preserve Residents to enroll in auto-pay on the Pelican Preserve Residents website using your bank checking account. By enrolling in auto-pay using your bank checking account, you will:  Save time in paying your Town Center monthly account statements and quarterly assessments while ensuring payment is made on time.  To avoid a 3% convenience fee set up auto-pay through your bank.  Save time for our accounting team in posting payments to accounts.

Enrolling in auto-pay using your bank checking account is fast, easy and free! 1. Log in to the Residents website 2. On the Residents website homepage, click “View / Pay Statements” under Quick Links, or find this page under the “My Town Center” section of the website 3. An account statement window will open 4. Click on “Bill Pay” 5. On the “Bank Account” tab, enter information for your bank checking account. Please be sure to complete all fields in this window before clicking the “Save Bank Account” button at the bottom. 6. After entering your bank account information, click “Auto Payment” on the left to enroll. 7. In the Payment Center window, complete all the information to set your auto-payment. Please note the following: 8. Payment Date: It’s recommended to select a payment date between the 8th and 20th of the month to ensure your payment has adequate time to process and post to your account prior to the payment due date. 9. Payment Frequency: Select “Monthly” 10. The amount of your auto-pay will depend on one of these two options: "Balance Due” (all charges from the last statement) or “Current Balance” (all outstanding charged) 11. When finished, click the “Schedule Payment” button at the bottom 12. On the next screen, review your auto-payment information and click the “Create Auto Payment” button at the bottom to finish enrolling. 13. REVIEW of 2022 Town Center Dues The dues for 2022 first quarter were billed on your 2021 statement. This payment amount shall become due and payable on or before January 1, 2022. The Town Center fees for 2022 of $3,048 are as follows:  The annual Operating Assessment fee will be $1,560  The annual Special Loan Repayment fee will be $1156  The annual Reserve Assessment fee will be $332 Your resulting 2022 quarterly fees billing will total $762.  December - February  March - May  June- August  September - November

Messages Welcome Back Fision News. You can scroll through these topics by pressing the up and down arrows on your remote. When you find the topic you want, you press “SELECT.” That will take you to subcategories that you can then highlight with your “down” arrow and hit “Select.”

Pelican Preserve has its own Community Channel where Residents can find lots of information regarding Pelican Preserve and the Town Center, list of PPCA Board Members, committees, hours of operation at the Town Center, billing information, special events and entertainment listings, contact information for Castle Group Property Management staff and ICON Management staff, and so much more. Some Fision remotes do not have a “MyHome” button. In these cases, press “MENU” or the LEFT ARROW on your Fision remote. Then Pelican Preserve Community Channel Easily Available on the Fision press PROPERTY and press OK/SELECT. Remote Pelican Preserve Channel Also Accessible on Your Smartphone and Tablet

To access the Channel, you use the Hotwire Fision remote-control device and press the “My Home” button located on the top row in the middle, just right of the “Power On” button. That opens up the Channel for viewing.

The PP Community Channel and other Hotwire features are also available on your smartphone or tablet using the free "Hotwire Fision" app. Once you download the "Hotwire Fision" app from your smartphone or Tablet app store onto your device, you then touch the "Community" icon at the bottom of the screen.

RESIDENT ID CARD UPDATE If you have not received your New Resident ID card, please visit the Pelican Lounge. Distribution times will be from 8:30am - 4:00pm Monday through Friday. Appointments are not necessary. Please visit the Pelican Lounge/Library to receive your new card. New photos will be taken, as well as updating your account profile. To expedite this process, please fill out the Pelican Preserve Resident User Information Form available on line under Forms & Documents on the Pelican Preserve Town Center website or email Nicole Chausse or Ashley Rowe if you have any questions. Your Resident ID card may be used for identification, gate/room proximity access, and account charging to help ensure accurate billing. Your Resident ID card will have your name and account number printed on the card, as well as your picture, along with a magnetic stripe encrypted with your Town Center account number so it can be swiped for an account charge at the Town Center.

Here is some additional information that will be helpful to know:  Please do NOT hole punch new cards. Lanyards and pouches are available to purchase in the Pelican Lounge/Library and Fitness Center.  Please do not place card on cell phone charging pad.  Please note that cards cannot be distributed without a recent photo.  After your photo is taken, you will be given your new card or receive a Access CARD SYSTEM TOWN CENTER ACCESS date/time your card will be ready for pickup at the Town Center.

The Town Center administrative office is located across from the Art Room. The hours are 9:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday.

Adhere to posted speed limits throughout Pelican Preserve and yield to pedestrians in crosswalks. Golf course and cart paths are for golfers only. Please do not use the golf course or cart paths to jog, run, walk or walk your dog. This includes early morning and evening hours. Do not ride bikes on the sidewalks. Use the bike lanes on Pelican Preserve Boulevard. When riding on the road, ride with the flow of traffic, not against it. Don’t forget your helmet! Bikers should follow rules of the road which means stopping at stop signs, signaling and yielding to pedestrians. When walking in the community, please use the sidewalks. Help us maintain the beauty in our natural areas and properly dispose of dog waste. Do not throw waste bags in the preserve area. Please do not feed the wildlife in the preserve or in your neighborhoods. This includes alligators and squirrels.

Dog Park Usage & Maintenance There are two dog parks located at the Town Center, one of which is being relocated as a result of amenity improvements. If you are interested in utilizing the dog parks, you must register your dog at the Town Center reception desk. Forms may be found on the Pelican Preserve website under “Documents & Forms.” Please note that the dog parks will be closed the first Monday of every month for routine maintenance. Please do not allow your dogs to dig in the dog parks. Residents must pick up their dogs waste and dispose of in the receptacles provided. Pelican Preserve Name Tags We encourage Pelican Preserve Residents to wear name tags to Pelican Preserve events, functions and get-togethers. Order your neighborhood specific name tag by completing the Name Tag form and submitting it with a check for $8.50 per name tag payable to Trophy Case in the lockbox in the computer room located in the Pelican Lounge. You will be notified when you name tags are ready for pick-up. Generally within two weeks. Golf Cart Parking As we work to maintain the Town Center, please use designated golf cart parking spaces when visiting the Town Center. Please refrain from parking in front of doors, walkways and lawns. Do not park golf carts in the main Town Center parking lot. Golf Cart Requirements Drivers of golf cart must be 16 years of age and a licensed driver in order to operate a golf cart. Refrain from having children on your lap. Children must be seated while riding in a golf cart. Smoking at the Town Center The Town Center is a smoke-free zone. Please refrain from smoking or vaping in all areas of the Town Center. Outdoor Pools There are two outdoor pools and two hot tubs located at the Town

Center. The lagoon pool is for general use. The pool located next to FlipFlops is an adult pool only. A designated lap lane is also available for lap swimming at all times. Please be courteous, the pool is designed for lap swimming and general usage.

   

No glass containers are permitted in the pool areas. Food and drinks not permitted in the pool or within 4 feet of the pool edge. No outside food or drinks are permitted in the pool area. Children under 12 years old are not permitted in the hot tubs per the Lee County Health Department.

Pelican Preserve Newsletter The Pelican Preserve monthly newsletter is available at the Town Center reception desk, Soleil Health & Fitness, and The Club at Pelican Preserve. Residents should also receive the newsletter via email and can also view the latest edition on the front page of the Town Center website. When initially logging in to the website your username will be your Town Center account number followed by either 0 or 1, depending upon who the primary is on the account. Passwords are the first letter of your first name followed by your last name (no spaces and all lower case). Community Bulletin Board The community bulletin board and business card display are located in the computer room in the Pelican Lounge for your convenience Copies and Faxes Copies and Faxes may be done in the Administration Office or at Soleil Heath & fitness. Sign Up for Pelican Preserve Text Message Alerts As an added convenience, we are implementing text message alert program so Residents may receive the following types of text message alerts from Pelican Preserve: Emergency Weather Conditions; Facility Updates/Closings. Log into the website and go to My Profile to register.

MAILING ADDRESS FOR PAYMENTS If you are mailing your payment, please address to: Pelican Preserve Community Association, P.O. Box 162671, Atlanta, GA 30321-2671. Please make sure your Town Center account number is listed on the check. This is for Pelican Preserve Town Center only, not The Club at Pelican Preserve. If you are using bill pay through your bank, please advise your bank of the address to ensure your payments go to the correct address. Remittance envelopes are enclosed in our statements if you wish to pay by check. If you are currently paying online through the Town Center website, no changes need to be made.

Access CARD SYSTEM TOWN CENTER ACCESS The Town Center is equipped with an access control system. The only way to access the outdoor pool area, sewing room, billiard room and card room is with Resident user cards. ALL RENTERS must obtain Resident user cards from Kim Davis in the fitness center. GUESTS Guests are permitted at the outdoor venues at the Town Center (pools, FlipFlops, tennis and pickleball). Residents may accompany guests to the outdoor pools/ Flip-Flops to receive wristbands or Residents may acquire guest passes with Nicole or Ashley at the Town Center reception office in order to gain access to the pools/Flip-Flops. Community Security Company Weiser Security Services monitors gate access into the community and provide patrols through the neighborhoods. The system, DwellingLive, aids in security to allow access into the community and make Pelican Preserve safer. Residents may log into DwellingLive to register their guests for front gate access to the community. If you have questions about the new system and how to log in, please call Castle Group at (239) 985-1634. Keep Your Information Up to Date Don’t forget to update your information with Ashley Rowe at the Town Center reception office. Ashley may be reached at [email protected] or (239) 985-1769. Or log in to the Residents website to update your information on the “My Profile” page, which is automatically routed to the administrative office upon update! Please be sure to update:   

Town Center Payment and Access Card Drop Box Town Center payments may be made online, by logging in to your account, with Nicole Chausse or Ashley Rowe in the Town Center reception office or at the front desk of Soleil Health & Fitness. A drop box is available for your convenience outside of the Town Center reception office in the Pelican Lounge for Residents, guests and renters to drop off their account payments, as well as, guest access cards.

Address and phone numbers Birthday so you can be a part of the Destinations Birthday Club Emergency contact form, which can be updated by filling out a form at Soleil front desk. The emergency contact information is kept on file in the event we need to contact someone for you.

Golf Lessons The Club offers lessons from our professional golf THE CLUB HOURS OF OPERATION staff. Appointments for private lessons may be Golf Shop/Practice Facilities Daily made with any one of our Golf Professionals. The Member/Member is coming up on February 8 and is always a great event. Get a partner and enjoy the competition.

Tuesday March 15th is the inaugural MGA/LGA End of Season event with dinner and entertainment. Groups and individuals will be recognize for coordinating all of the special events of our season.

All owners within Pelican Preserve are required to be members of Plaza Del Sol/Town Center and pay the fees and charges levied pursuant to the Town Center Declaration for use of the Town Center amenities and facilities. The golf course, golf facilities and golf clubhouse are part of The Club at Pelican Preserve which is not associated with Plaza Del Sol/Town Center. Purchase of a membership in The Club at Pelican Preserve by application and payment of the applicable membership fee is required for use of The Club at Pelican Preserve golf amenities.

Reservation Process for Racquet Sports Residents may make reservations online for tennis courts by logging in to Pelican Preserve's Residents website anytime, day or night!  All tennis and pickleball courts may now be reserved for play three days in advance beginning at 7:00am.  Registration for Tennis Round Robins, Competitive Doubles and Men’s Day will begin three days in advance at 7:00am.  Registration for Pickleball Round Robin, will begin three days in advance beginning at 7:00am.  Renters and guest may register for programs two days in advance. Upon reserving a court online, you and your guests will receive an immediate email confirmation. Clinics and lesson registration may be done at any time. How To Make an Online Reservation 1. Log in to www.pelicanpreservelifestyles.com.  Primary and secondary Residents have individual logins for the Residents website. Please be sure you are using your specific login for reservation and confirmation purposes.  For assistance with logging in to the Residents website, click the "Need Login Help” link on the login page. Or you may call Stacy Logue at (239) 985-1755. 2. Under the Racquet section of the website, select "Reserve a Tennis Court” or “Reserve a Pickleball Court”.

More Information  To reserve the ball machine, select the ball machine option next to your name.  Only one (1) reservation per day may be made online. If you would like to make a second court reservation on the same day, please call the Casita to check availability.  All racquet sports reservations must be made online. The only exception is a second same-day tennis court reservation. In order to do that, you must call the Tennis Casita to inquire about availability.

Racquet Sports Court Dress Code  Regular clay court shoes must be worn on the tennis courts at all times. Cross trainers or other running shoes are not permitted both safety and maintenance reasons.  Proper tennis attire including shirts and other full coverage clothing must be worn on the tennis courts. Swimsuits, cutoffs, workout attire, men’s sleeveless shirts, tank tops and golf shorts are not permitted.  Shoes worn on clay courts must be cleaned in the Tread Blaster prior to entering the Casita or pickleball courts.  Rubber soled athletic shoes must be worn. Open toed shoes, street shoes or golf shoes are not permitted on the Pickleball Courts.  Proper athletic, tennis or gym attire must be worn. Sleeveless men’s Athletic shirts are permitted. Swimsuits, other swim attire, modified shirt (cut off sleeves) or short cutoffs are not permitted on the Pickleball Courts. Check with Tennis Department for advice or with questions.  Check with the Racquet Sport Department for advice or questions.

Tennis Court Etiquette Reminder:  Please access courts through gates.  Do not walk across a court that is in use.  Be courteous to your fellow Residents.  To retrieve a ball from another court or return a ball to another court, wait until players have completed the point.  Dispose of trash in proper receptacles. Tennis Ball Machine Group Members The annual fee for the Ball Machine is $125 per household. We now have a six month fee of $75. Always cover the machine after use. Tennis ball machine may be rented by the hour for $12 when the Tennis Casita is open. Do not use the machine in rain or damp conditions. TENNIS COMMITTEE NEWS ATTENTION ALL TENNIS PLAYERS All new tennis playing Residents (or Residents not currently receiving Committee emails) should fill out the Player Profile Form located on the Tennis Committee page on the Pelican Preserve Residents website. The form is also available at the Tennis Casita. This will ensure you will be receiving the latest tennis e-mail updates. Your questions, comments and suggestions for improving our programming can be sent to the committee at [email protected]. Log in to the Pelican Preserve Lifestyles website and visit the Tennis Committee web page and look over the Tennis Advisory Committee's bylaws, view past minutes, and look at the master listing of available league teams. This should allow you to more fully participate in our tennis community.

TENNIS FOR NEWBIES! Welcome to Tennis Class First Tuesday of the Month 2:30 - 3:30pm Have you ever wanted to try tennis? This program will run through March on the first Tuesday of each month. Sign-up will be required and can be done on the Pelican Preserve website. There is no charge for this class. After attending the intro, players should do the Fast Start and Tennis Play 101. Residents are limited to doing the Welcome to Tennis Class one time ONLY. Fast Start to Tennis Class Fridays 12:00 - 1:00pm This class is geared toward the beginner wanting to master the skills needed to improve your game. This is where you can improve your skills to prepare for the next level. Sign-up will be required and can be done on the Pelican Preserve website. Cost: $12 per class Tennis Play 101 Wednesdays 12:00 - 1:00pm Tennis Play 101 is a great program that will introduce players to the basics of doubles play. Play will be modified to make development easier and fun! Players are required to attend the Free Introduction Class or at least one session of the Fast Start Tennis. Emphasis will be on game play and will not focus on technique. This program will run through March. Sign-up will be required and can be done on the Pelican Preserve website.

Pickleball Reservations and Ratings All programs subject to change due to popularity. All other pickleball court reservations may be scheduled three days in advance for two-hour time slots. Court/tennis shoes are required to play. Please see Carol in the tennis shop for information and questions, or call (239) 985-1762. All pickleball players who want to participate in Member-Rated Open Play or Member-Rated Round Robin Play (scheduled play), must be registered with the Pelican Preserve Pickleball Committee and receive a rating. YOGA LIIT Thursdays 1:00pm Instructor: Melissa Poolside Group Exercise Yoga with Light Intensity Interval Training is a class that will consist of 30 minutes mixture of low impact sculpting, light cardio, and strengthening exercises based on pilates and yoga moves. This is a great class to train your core and gain range of motion without harsh movements on the joints. This workout is for all levels and is especially good for those want to keep back pain nonexistent. The second half of class will be a stretch portion with yin yoga in mind and brief meditation.

Please share a lane when indoor pool is busy. Lap swimming and water walking limited to 30 minutes when people are waiting. When pool is busy, water walkers should share the lanes closest to the ladders and walk single file so a lane can be opened up for swimmers. Stationary exercise work should be done in the circular area of the pool. If you are arriving for a water exercise class, please be courteous to those who may be exercising or finishing swimming laps by staying clear of the lanes.

PELICAN UNIVERSITY Educational Presentations The Legacy of Native America Presented by Resident, Frank Cuphone Monday, February 7 3:00pm Theater Come explore the myriad of contributions Native America—North, Central, and South—have given the world. Do you enjoy chocolate and vanilla, use the term “OK “, ride a toboggan, take Robitussin for a cough, play or watch lacrosse, agree with ecological responsibility, and appreciate women’s suffrage and our U.S. Constitution? All of these, and many more in terms of food, medicine, language, sports, voting rights, democratic government, and environmental science will be discussed. The Pelican Preserve Nurses Committee is happy to announce that we are reactivating the “Friends in Need of Companionship” Volunteer Program!

Pelican Preserve’s patriotic Field of Flags (FoF) display has delighted Residents for nearly four years. The FoF Brigade wants to expand the salute all the way to Prato and across the bridge headed to Palazzo. To do so, they need your help.

“FRIENDS IN NEED OF COMPANIONSHIP” COMPANIONSHIP ONLY-NO HANDS ON OR SKILLED CAREYou can help in two ways: VOLUNTEER PROGRAM FOR PELICAN PRESERVE RESIDENT/OWNERS 1. Volunteer to serve on a Field of Flags team, and/or MISSION: THE RESIDENTS OF PELICAN PRESSERVE ARE COMMITTED TO ASSISTING RESIDENTS WITH SHORT-TERM PERSONAL COMPANIONSHIP GOALS: TO UTILIZE THE INDIVIDUAL TIME, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES OF VOLUNTEERS IN PELICAN PRESERVE, AS THEY ARE WILLING AND ABLE TO PROVIDE A MEANINGUL AND EFFECTIVVE WAY FOR PELICAN PRESERVE RESIDENTS TO HELP OTHER RESIDENTS IN NEED WITHIN OUR COMMUNITY; WE ALSO STRIVE TO PROMOTE A SENSE OF CARING AND SUPPORT FOR OUR FELLOW RESIDENTS.

2. Financially contribute to support the purchase of additional 12” x 18” U.S. flags. Volunteer Volunteers are assigned to teams and each Memorial Day weekend, July 4th and Veterans Day they gather early in the morning to place flags and then later in the evening to retrieve them. Each team needs a “captain” who coordinates his/her team and who is responsible for storing the team’s flags (generally 250-300). Veterans Committee Offers New Flag Disposal Service Starting on Monday, February 7, the Pelican Preserve Veterans Committee will offer a service to collect old and damaged U.S. Flags so that they can be properly disposed of in a patriotic burning ceremony. The Veterans Committee will have a collection table on the first Monday of every month as part of the Farmers Market. To dispose of any old flag(s) you may have, simply drop them off at the veteran’s table. The project is being coordinated with the American Legion Post 274 of Ft. Myers Beach.

Parents of Estranged Adult Children (PEAC) Many parents are experiencing the very painful issue of estrangement initiated by our adult children (AC). Some of us, having been loving, supportive, giving parents, have no idea why our AC’s have decided to go “no contact” with us. We experience an incredible sense of pain, loss, SAVE THE DATE grief, guilt, and anger associated with this unfathomable, unimaginable journey. Many wonder “Am I the only one?”. The fact is that this is a THE BEACON GROUP for the blind & visually impaired will be global epidemic, experienced by parents around the world.
