Please join Norm Mastalir, Managing Director in extending a sincere Fairmont Family welcome to,

Sabrina Sequeira INSPIRE Participant, Assistant Manager in Food & Beverage

Fairmont Chateau Whistler effective January 9, 2023

Sabrina joins Fairmont Chateau Whistler with a variety of hospitality experience

under her belt. Sabrina was previously a Marketing Manager at Happy Hotels, has

worked as a Partnership Advisor at Montreal Releve, and was most recently a Bar

& Restaurant Coordinator at Le Centre Sheraton Montreal. Sabrina graduated in

December 2022 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, specializing in Tourism and Hospitality Management, from the University of

Quebec in Montreal- Quebec Institute of Tourism and Hospitality. Here is what

Sabrina has to say: What was your Career Highlight, and what made you interested in hospitality? Hospitality interests me because no day is the same. I love being challenged within my role in the workplace. When you are not working, what do you enjoy? When I am not working, you can find me hiking, reading or cooking! What was the best advice you have been given? I have always been told that if something does not work out, it is okay, because something else will! Please join Norm Mastalir, Managing Director in extending a sincere Fairmont Family congratulations to,

Benjamin Bravington-Sim Food & Beverage Controller Fairmont Chateau Whistler

effective February 12, 2023

Ben is an insightful and experienced leader within the Food & Beverage industry, working in

various bars and restaurants since 2010. In 2016, Ben arrived to Canada joining Araxi as the

Assistant Bar Manager, and joined Nita Lake Lodge as the Restaurants Manager in 2018. Ben

joined Fairmont Chateau Whistler in 2019 as the Assistant Outlet Manager in Portobello, and

as most recently promoted as the Restaurant General Manager of Portobello. Here is what

Ben has to say: What interested you in hospitality? I honestly think I was born into it. I grew up around Chefs, Managers and Health professionals. Despite attempting to break the mold in my first few job placements, I ultimately gravitated back due to that combination of food, creativity, care, and passion. I was so in love with it all. What was the turning point in your career? After winning a national bartending competition, I realized I could use the same focus and strategy in other areas of my career and life in order to find new opportunities. Anything you would like to share about Be As You Are? We all feel our best when we belong and this provides the ultimate stage for us to realize our own self-actualization. See the best in others and see the best in you! To learn more about Benjamin, connect with him on LinkedIn! https://www.linkedin.com/in/ben-bravington-sim-bb5a8495/

Guest Comment of the Week! We have stayed at your hotel a number of times over the last several years and it has always been the benchmark! We lived in Seattle for a few years and travelled to the Fairmont Chateau quite regularly. We have since returned to the UK and this was our first return since 2017. It is a great compliment to say nothing has changed! It was as though we have never been away. You still have some of the same staff (Martin and Daniel in the Wildflower - both absolutely brilliant and both remembered us!!). The overall experience is always outstanding.

Our kids are now 17 and 14 and we/they are very lucky in that we have the good fortune of travelling on many family holidays around the world and when our kids say (every time) that the Fairmont Chateau is the best hotel out there, it is hard to disagree with them! We cannot speak highly enough of every member of staff and the hotel as a whole you are what every hotel should be striving for.

Thank you again for a wonderful holiday and we hope to see you again soon!

Accident outside of work? If you have had an accident outside of work or are injured report this to your leader to determine whether you may return to work for your shift.

If your injury is causing discomfort you will be asked to follow up with a medical practitioner to determine whether you are safely able to perform your daily duties

IF RESTRICITONS CAN BE ACCOMODATED If the restrictions can be accommodated, a graduated return to work will begin, you will be asked to follow up with your practitioner regularly for reassessment to track your recovery. At each visit we will require a new FAF to establish if there have been any changes in your restrictions. Again these forms will need to be returned promptly to your leaders. This process will continue with your practitioner until we can ensure that there is no aggravation

IF RESTRICITONS CANNOT BE ACCOMMODATED

INJURIES & WORK REPORTING & RESOURCES

If the restrictions cannot be accommodated safely, we will not be able to return you to work. you will be asked to work with your practitioner on your recovery and provide new FAF once you begin to see less restrictions. we will welcome you back to work with a graduated return to work plan.

COMPLETE A FITNESS ASSESSMENT FORM (FAF) The FAF can be completed by a doctor, physiotherapist, chiropractor or similar practitioner. Please note some doctors may charge for this note.

The FAF is then returned to your leaders, they will determine if the restrictions can be accommodated in your role with modified duties/hours.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE WHEN OFF WORK Short term disability may be an option for colleagues through Canada Life Extended Medical benefits. STD can offer compensation for 70% of a colleague’s salary, whilst off work for a period of 7 consecutive days or more. More information regarding eligibility, please see Talent & Culture.
