Blue&White News Letter November Issue: Intramurals 20222 T U G U E G A R O CITY – The Mighty Heroes of Tesseract (Blue team) emerged overall champion of JHS Intramurals, organized by the Supreme Student Government (SSG) with the help of Louisian Volunteer Society (LVS), concluded at the James Ter Meer Gymnasium on November 24, 2022. About 1000 students from all grade TESSERACT EMERGES AS OVERALL CHAMPION IN JHS INTRAMURALS Abigail P. Almazan levels of the Junior high school, including their advisers, gathered for the awarding of winners and closing ceremony. The surrounding becomes nostalgic and historical the moment Lousian STARs set foot on the stage wearing baro and saya to reenact the rich culture of Filipinos. Whereas the Mighty Heroes of Tesseract(Blue Team), who hailed as the champion in skilled folk dance, amazed their audience with their use of candles or what is called padanggo. While the Gallant Warriors of the Orb(Gray Team), which holds second place, also showcased their incredible pot dance, which uses banga while dancing. CONTINUED ON P2

M e a n w h i l e , Tesseract also topped overall in Literary and Visual events; Aether in Sociocultural events, and Orb in sports. Agamotto, on the other hand, secured first place in KKP (Kaibigan ng Kalikasan Program). The results were finalized and announced by SSG moderators, Ms. Cristina Joy Barasi and Ms. Rowena Abegonia. CONTINUED FROM P1 SOURCE: TALA LOUISIANO FB PAGE Among the four teams in the Intramurals 2022, the Valiant knights of Aether succeeded in being the champion in contemporary dance that happened this morning, 24th of November, at USL James Ter Meer Gymnasium. The Valiant Knights of Aether, also known as the yellow team, performed their choreography with the song Waves by Dean Lewis. While the Mighty Heroes of Tesseract, or the Blue team, recognized for using a dramatic instrumental piece, claimed second place. The Great Defenders of Agamotto, with their team color in the shade green, is in third place with their background music Tatsulok by Bamboo. On the other hand, the fourth place goes to team gray, or the Gallant Warrior of the Orb, who uses the song Photograph by Ed Sheeran. YELLOW TEAM RANKS FIRST PLACE IN CONTEMPORARY DANCE Roana Verzosa On the other hand, the Great Defenders of Agamotto(green team), known for their iconic dance of holding two sticks and both eyes blindfolded, acclaimed third place. The Valiant Nights of Aether(yellow team), also known for their talented dance steps and colorful attire, is the fourth place. SOURCE: TALA LOUISIANO FB PAGE LOUSIAN STARS CENTER STAGE DURING HIP-HOP COMPETITION Roana Verzosa The Louisian stage went ablaze with the different choreography of each team during the Hip-hop competition this morning November 24, 2022, at James Teer Meer Gymnasium. Of all the four teams, the Valiant Knights of Aether(yellow team) get to claim first place with their great dance steps and song of choice. Despite being the last performer, the yellow team had set high standards. On the other hand, the Great Defenders of Agamotto(green team) indeed defended their team. They were hailed second place with their unique blindfolded dancing technique. While the Mighty Heroes of Tesseract(Blue Team) saved their kingdom as they danced incredibly, making them third place. Blue&White News Letter November Issue: Intramurals 20222 03 The Gallant warriors of the Orb(gray), the acclaimed fourth place, also wowed their audience with energy and great enthusiasm. Furthermore, the Hip-hop competition was the last sociocultural dance event. Winners were announced just after the judges’ evaluation, which was also revealed on the same day, in the morning second day of the JHS intramurals. JHS HOLDS MASTER BAKERS AS PART OF INTRAMURALS CELEBRATION Michael Edward Tibule CONTINUED FROM P2 As part of the recently-held intramurals, the master bakers competition was held on the eleventh of November. The said event was a part of the socio-cultural category competitions. The champion for the event was the Gray team, followed by the Green team, then the Yellow team. The competition was held across four teams- Blue, Green, Yellow and Gray. They each baked their own types of cakes for two hours. Then, the cakes were judged by the panel, Sir Ariel Lorenzo, Ma’am Melvie Mabbonag, and Ma’am Vanessa Liban. The team with the best cake was then given prizes and the certificate of championship. The members of the Gray team baked a Chocolate Moist Cake that turned out to be the one that got them the championship. The other members were Eureka Sye Callangan, Kheem Rein Morales, Carrie Pinsok, and Marie Hyacinth Marasigan. The Green team, who won as second place, had baked a squash carrot cake with nuts, an original recipe of their own. The members of green team were Shane Margaret Amora, Anissa Faith Lara, Rhein Jasmine, and Stephanie Agustin. The Yellow team served a Squash Cake topped with fondant. The members were Beatrice Nicole Verzosa, Ma Paula Ramos, Raine Dayag, and Kirk Soriano. The Blue team had baked a Banana Chiffon Cake. The members of this team were Olive Suyu, Maria Alingog, Gilianne Macababbad, and Daphine Mora. The event was graced by the presence of the Junior High school TLE Coordinator, Ma’am Melvie Mabbonag and Ma’am Rowena Abegonia, who both gave out their accolades to each team and commended them for their efforts while baking cakes during the said event. The master baker’s competition was just one of the many events that took place during the recent intramurals. This event was just a part of the recently held intramurals, which is an annual tradition in USJHS where all students and teachers compete in a variety of sports and other categorized events. Intramurals serve as a venue for students to relax after a grueling heavy academic load every day. It gives them a chance to unwind and bond with their friends. SOURCE: TALA LOUISIANO FB PAGE


Blue&White News Letter 04 November Issue: Intramurals 20222 MASTER CHEF JUNIORS ON INTRAMURALS 2022 Stanley Jesus Cristobal Teams of USL’s jhs intramurals competed for the “Master Chef” competition held on Thursday, the twentyfourth of November 2022, in the junior high school’s very own TLE lab. The Mighty Heroes of Tesseract took home the bacon for their showstopping rendition of BatilPatung, by adding Tahong (mussel) to the dish. The competition wanted to showcase the team’s renditions of Tuguegarao city’s most recognizable dish ever. The different teams prepared variants of the said dish with their renditions and modifications to yonder, exemplifying the iconic noodle dish’s taste. It was a burning sight, and the contestants’ excitement and genuine happiness constituted and relieved them of any nervousness. Competitions kin to this is a marvelous way of showcasing students’ talent in cooking while also exhibiting the local cooking that is a massive part of local enthusiasm and sense of self-identity. Truly this competition brought out the sleeping intrepidity and craftsmanship of the participating high school students, which laid stationary for two years that were taken by the pandemic. Indeed it was a phenomenon of sensational skill and sportsmanship; like the dish they created, this competition will forever be iconic. SOURCE: TALA LOUISIANO FB PAGE The Gallant Warriors of the Orb (ray) defeated the Valiant of Knights Aether (yellow) at the first game of the men’s volleyball competition with the score of (16-25), (25- 14), (25,23) preventing their opponents desire in competing for tomorrow’s championship game at this year’s JHS intramurals, 23 November 2022. In the opening moments of set 1, the gray team overwhelmed by the yellow’s by powerful spike’s and serve’s outclassing them until they hit the 25 score mark which gained GALLANT WARRIORS OF THE ORB KEEP THE BALL ALIVE Luis Carodan CONTINUED ON P5 YELLOW AETHERS DOMINATE BATTLE OF THE BRAINS QUIZ BEE Abigail Almazan Three (3) students from The Valiant Knights of Aether (Yellow team) dominated the Battle of the Brains Quiz Bee last November 24, 2022 — bagging 1st place overall. Freisia Tuppil, Alyza Kae Galnayon, and their team captain, Sahm Klement Patino, took the lead with 41 points overall in the final round. Meanwhile, Tesseract (Blue team) ranked fourth, with a final score of 21, and the second and third placers were decided through a tiebreaker round. Agamotto (Green team) secured its spot in second place, while Orb (Gray team) got third. The quiz bee composed of three categories, with three rounds each: easy, average, and difficult. The first category focused on USL trivia, KKP, and CICM history. Aether scored 13 out of 15 points, earning the highest number of points among the four teams. The second category was on politics, social issues, entertainment, and sports, also led by the Yellow team, with a perfect score. Lastly, Yellow also got the highest score of 12 during the third round of the quiz bee, which focused on world history and religion. At the end of the third round, all teams celebrated by taking pictures with the event moderators.

Though they gave it their all in the second round, team gray was able to retain their confidence and strength due to yellow’s loss of speed and agility they were CONTINUED FROM P4 unable to secure victory and allowing the match for a deciding game. For the both of the teams it was a close match, Jude de Leon; captain ball of the gray team, scored the 25-point mark by his powerful and strategize placing that secured him and his team & slot for the championship game. “I still cant believe were going to the finals, even though we loss at the first set, I can say im proud of my teammates for regaining there confidence until the end” said by Jude de Leon (captain ball of the gray team). Roana Verzosa TENOR BAND ROCKS THE STAGE AND SNATCHES FIRST PLACE IN BATTLE OF THE BANDS The crowd went wild during the battle of bands as Louisian STARs rock the stage and have their audience stand and sing along as the bands cover different OPM songs. However, out of the five bands who performed, the Tenor band got to stand out and really capture the attention of everyone present on the last day of the JHS intramurals. Happened last November 24 in the afternoon at James Teer Meer Gymnasium. The tenor band comprises 7 members, including Samantha Bautista, Ezekyle Maggay, Sebastian Serrano, Stephen Mabborang, Ayanna Mohssen, Lianne Ballad, and Cyrille Balubal. The band occupied the stage for over 15 minutes as they sang and played three songs mainly: Ikaw Lamang by Silent Sanctuary, Ang Huling El Bimbo by Eraserheads, and Jopay by Mayonnaise which is the song that made the audience cheer the loudest when Samantha Bautista, the main vocalist asked: “what if bumalik yung greatest what if mo?” Besides this, Summer Seven, Bandang Doon, 3rd Degree Generation, and Kikoy’s Band made the afternoon of the JHS Department memorable and fun with their outstanding performance. Moreover, Louisian STARs had again proven their capability and might when showcasing their gifted talents.
