ABOUT THE COVER For those who are unfamiliar with the concept of MONOCHROMES, they are artworks made from a single color. Obviously, this color can be shaded, and the effects of texture, shine or material can also bring a particularity to the final artwork.

MONOCHROMES are the pure and perfect expression of an artist's talent, for others, they are yet another scam stamped as contemporary art. MONOCHROMES of all colors, whites, blacks, reds, blues, small, monumental, smooth, rough, porous, shiny, satin… Despite its eminently simple and pure character, monochrome represents an inexhaustible medium of expression for artists, who can customize their approaches and techniques to infinity, as we will see.

EDITORIAL

C O N T R I B U T I am delighted to introduce to you a mono feels magazine that radiates the different shades in every artists. The idea on creating this magazine,is the thought of broadening the viewers mind and a task that must be relatable, knowledge and class attached to it.

"We all have that different shades of colors in our lives."

CaCaballero CLAIRE ANGELI A. CABALLERO Editor in Chief Lahug,Cebu City

We have always love the minimalist and simplicity in things. But have you ever wondered who implemented it? If not, this is definitely for you. What I have known is that In Style they called it a basic but it actually signifies strong, deep and full of emotions.A way for some of us to be ourselves and be creative. Aside from that a monochromatic color means one color. It is dealing with shades of gray, which is one of the reasons why it can be exceedingly more powerful than any color if produced correctly. And often emotion is assiociated with this type of art due to its color, connecting with a feeling or a memory.

A Faded Journey of an Artists

" I CAN DRAW BUT MAYBE IT'S STILL NOT GOOD ENOUGH ". Ethan Morgan

Ever since I was young I really thought I am pro on this kind of field already. My family and even friends always told me way back then that I could accomplished anything because of how good I was atleast that's what they told me.In every task and competition related to arts they think of me always and even let me join their groups because of it.But it suddenly changes when I did go to college.

" IT'S HARD BEING COMPARED ALL THE TIME". Ellisa Jane

Whenever I create new things nor simply making my own artstyles to call it on my own. They always compared me to somebody else, saying it's giving them the same vibes and artstyles.Asking me if I am a fan of them and sometimes accusing me of copying someones artworks. If I create something creepy, they told me I have a problem of my childhood. And If I did something on what is trend, they woul say I want attentions.(Sigh).

" I'VE GOT NOTHING MORE TO CREATE". Crystal Florida

Loosing interest on something that you really love doing before is very devastated and sad.And that is what I have experienced right now.I don't know what to create anymore, even sketch something on paper and I don't got any broad imaginations.Feels like I'm stuck in my own head without anything but just blank canvas and a broken pencils.I might just rest it out for a while and I'm hoping that this won't last.

" I WONDERED IF THEY KNOW ME". Roby Jackson

I was part of many known cartoon movies, games, shirt designs and comic strips and yet no one could recognized and even remember me.So I guess that's the part of how faded my journey is just to make them happy while I'm here behind screens and crampled papers.Only to realized that an artists will be known if they already got some rich status and some got famous when one died as an artists.

" IF ONLY I HAVE THE MATERIALS FOR IT". Mary Lee

Lucky is a word for those artists who have supported parents on their passions or hobbies in arts. But with me,whom I rely on my own well,it sure is tough but still it's a way for me to better and work hard to be able to achieved my dreams .Other's might say that it's not about the materials but about the talent.I say it's not always work that way.

He was born on July 31, 1963 in Sakashita, now a part of Nakatsugawa, Gifu. He began his experience in the horror world at a very young age, with his first manga being Mummy Teacher by Kazuo Umezu; his two older sisters read Umezu and Shinichi Koga in magazines, and consequently, he began reading them too.[1] He grew up in the countryside, in a small city next to Nagano. [2] In the house where he lived, the bathroom was at the end of an underground tunnel, where there were spider crickets; such experiences were later reflected in his works. [1] Ito began to draw manga at the age of 4, taking inspiration from the works he read in magazines. He continued to draw as a hobby until he became a dental technician in 1984, where he struggled to find a balance between the two. Some of his most notable works include Tomie, a series chronicling an immortal girl who drives her stricken admirers to madness; Uzumaki, a three-volume series about a town obsessed with spirals; and Gyo, a two-volume story in which fish are controlled by a strain of sentient bacteria called "the death stench." His other works include The Junji Ito Horror Comic Collection, a collection of his many short stories, and Junji Ito's Cat Diary: Yon & Mu, a self-parody about him and his wife living in a house with two cats.

12

Ito's work has developed a substantial cult following, with some deeming him a significant figure in recent horror iconography.1987, he submitted a short story to Monthly Halloween that won an honorable mention in the Kazuo Umezu Prize (with Umezu himself as one of the judges).[3] This story ran for 13 years and was later serialized as Tomie.[4][5] Ito drew the cover of Mucc's 2002 album Hōmura Uta.[6] He collaborated with the band again in 2020, for the cover of their made-toorder single "Shōfu 2020".[6] Ito teamed up with Takashi Nagasaki and former diplomat Masaru Sato to create Yūkoku no Rasputin (2010– 2012), based on Sato's personal experiences in Russia, for Big Comic. [7] Film director Guillermo del Toro cited on his official Twitter account that Ito was originally a collaborator for the video game Silent Hills, of which both Del Toro and game designer Hideo Kojima were the main directors. However, a year after its announcement, the project was canceled by Konami, the IP's owner.[8] Ito and Del Toro would later lend their likenesses to Kojima's next project, Death Stranding.

1).Do I have the talent and skills to become an artist? Well of course you do,anyone can learn to be an artist with the right training, tools, and passion.

2).Why aren't my arts improving?

16

You might probably not improving and don't become proficient because you did not practice enough and put off by early failures-"It doesn't look anything like it".

BY:ERICK COLE

3).Why won't they ever commisioned me? There are many reasons why some artists may have been turn down or not gotten any offers.Maybe it just so happens that they are looking for a certain artstyles, you don't show much examples of your works and that maybe the price is not right.

4).oh my,the had there own artstyles but How will i ever find mine? It's okay to envy other artists, but you could also find yours by making a lot of arts, experiment in other artstyles, analyzing your own work, take the elements that you like and just give yourself some time through creating what you love.

5).When will I become a known artist? To become a known artist you must create an irresistable online presence, creating artworks and posting it online, art places and even in art galleries so that people will know you. After which you'll gain followers to promote for you and vise versa you also support other artists.

6).Is it possible for me as an artist to make this as a job career? Yes, it certainly is a good lifestyle and a job career if you are creative and determined on what you do.This includes selling artworks, teaching, working on commissions,or even get paid to create logos oe illustrations.
