We hope everyone has been enjoying the 2013 season. March is another busy month at Pelican Preserve, so make sure you refer to most recent newsletter to stay up-to-date with all the scheduled events, activities and classes! Don’t miss the Rolling Stones Tribute Concert with the zStonz on Wednesday, March 13, at the amphitheatre or the St. Patty’s Day event on March 17 in the Promenade! Both are of these are going to be very well-attended events—reserve your spot early! I’m pleased to report the progress with our Town Center improvements. The carpet was replaced in the card room, billiards room and the administrative corridor. The interior painting was completed, and the drywall in the sewing room was replaced and repainted. We expect to all of the new furniture by the end of March. We are nearly finished converting our gas heaters to geothermal electric heaters at the pool. The new system will be much more reliable and environmentally friendly. Golf Club News We’ve got a great month planned at the Golf Club! Both LGA and MGA Member-Guest events are happening in March. The LGA Ladies’ MemberGuest is currently sold out with record participation! If you’re interested in playing in the MGA Men’s Member-Guest on March 14-16, we are still accepting registrations. The Club Staff looks forward to hosting these events each year because it is a great opportunity for us to show off our wonderful, active Golf Club. We have two great Members-only dining events in March. On Saturday, March 2, we have the Spring Fling Dinner Dance. Back by popular demand on Saturday, March 9, is our Saturday Social. Stay tuned for more details. If you’re interested in attending

these events you may sign up by calling (239) 985-1795. We finish out the month of March with our Annual Easter Buffet on Sunday, March 31. This event is open to all Residents and guests. Todd Lowe, USGA Senior Agronomist, spent the day at Pelican Preserve on February 12. During the morning Todd toured the golf course with Club Management and gave a presentation to our Golf Advisory Committee and a few Members. It was reported the conditions and progress are much improved over what he had observed in years past. The USGA believes we are headed in the right direction with course conditions, although we still have some work to do. The report will be shared in its entirety in the next few weeks as a part of our March GCAC meeting minutes. Annual Survey At the end of March you will receive an email invitation to complete the 2013 Annual Amenities Survey. This comprehensive survey covers all departments and services offered at the Club, and is your opportunity to share critiques, compliments and comments. It should take approximately 15 minutes and your candid feedback is critical for the planning and development of Club services. The survey results provide a snapshot of Members’ impressions of the Club and its services over the past year. Upon completing the survey, you will be entered into a drawing to win a $500 Gift Card at your Club! WCI Golf Club Challenge The 15th Annual WCI Golf Challenge is scheduled for April 15 at Tiburón Golf Club in Naples. This popular annual event features two four-person teams playing with their Professional Golf Staff from each WCI Club. This event includes lunch, golf and dinner. For more information about the 2013 WCI Golf Challenge, you may contact David Startzel at (239) 985-1703.
