anishing Songs is a diary of a journey – a personal journey of over seven years by a modern day photographic artist with his ear to the ground. The book is not about the trees, the huts, the beads or even the beautiful landscape. It is not about the people either. Vanishing Songs is an amazing compilation of illuminating moments that reflect the veiled thoughts of Africa. Woven through its pages is a story with a message; a deep message that is so simple, yet so significant. It is a photographic coffee table book that explores the Maasai, Borana, Turkana, Pokot, South Sudan, among other communities. This book captures precious moments; An old man sitting on the ground, looking into the future; a reflective moment in Garissa immortalized; A man in Kwale seems to speak without uttering a word. His face is wrinkled with age, and his hands hardened from years of toil. He has been there and done that! Yet his journey is not complete.
