APR – MAR

PUSHP NIKETAN SCHOOL

With the advent of the new session, 2022-23, a ceremonious puja was conducted in the school premises, so that the blessings of the Almighty would be endowed upon us for a successful session ahead. The ritual created an ambience of purity and cleansing of the aura, to energise us with vigour and freshness for the new beginning.

Pareeksha Pe Charcha: (01.04.2022)

This annual event held every year, hosted by our honourable Prime minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, was attended by students of grades X and XII. It was a live telecast arranged in the library for the students who were about to attempt their board examination. Modiji shared valuable tips on how to take board examination and also different entrance tests about to come, in a relaxed and stressful manner.

Puppet Show: (01.04.2022)

The fun began when the show began. Teachers of the pre-primary and junior school, narrated stories in the form of stick puppets for the tiny tots. The show displayed activity-based learning for the students, that is practised regularly with the students.

APR – DEC And the show begins (Puja): (01.04.2022)

‘Hard days are the best, because those are the days when champions are made, and the best part of the game is the opportunity to play’. When it comes to sports the students of PNS are the children who rise with maximum adrenaline. The students of grades I-V participated in the Sports day organised exclusively for them. Students took part in different athletic competitions, with utmost sportsmanship spirit.

Baal Sabha- VI-VIII: (20.04.2022) & 27.04.2022) The old tradition of Baal Sabha started this year with the science department. The students exhibited different topics in the form of charts and displays to explain different concepts of science to the students. In this manner the students become more aware of what is done in the class. Students participate in this for different subjects throughout the year to display various topics that they study in the classroom.

Story Telling- I & II: (13.04.2022)

After the interaction hurdles of the 2 pandemic years, the teachers of grades I & II made efforts to break the ice between themselves and students by telling them stories in an animated way. The little boys and girls who could not relish too much of the kindergarten section physically in school enjoyed this manner and gesture of starting the interaction through stories.

Sports Day: (05.04.2022)

The batch 2021-22 was bid a heartfelt goodbye by Team PNS with good wishes from all the teachers and students. The program was organised by the successors of the guest batch. The program was celebrated with games, interactions, dance and personalised gifts to the students.

Sant Kabir Ke Dohe: (22.04.2022)

सब जग सूता न ींद भरि, सींत न आवै न ींद। काल खडा ससि ऊपिै , ज्यीं तयिसि आया ब ींद॥ The students marked the event with reciting beautiful verses by Sant Kabir Das. The ambience of these beautiful verses created a serene moment for all those who witnessed the program.

Inter-school Art Competition: (23.04.2022)

Talking of the environment, an inter-school art competition was organised by our school where schools from all over Dhampur participated. The theme for the day was ‘Nature Painting’. All the students enthusiastically exhibited their painting skills. The show ended with prize and certificate distribution.

Teacher’s Training Program (Madam Jyoti Nagranee): (24.04.2022)

‘Teachers can change lives with just the right mix of chalk and challenges’. To know the exact mix a teacher has to learn and unlearn all the time. For this PNS keeps on organising different training programs for the teachers to get exposed to what the other educators are doing all over the world. The first training workshop was delivered on the topic of ‘You Wear Multiple Hats’, by Mrs. Jyoti Nagranee. Madam Nagranee is a renowned educationist and a consultant. In the workshop she made us look at different perspectives about what a MAY teacher can be. She made us look at the different hats that we are wearing as an educator. It was a general workshop for all the teachers.

Farewell 2022: (16.04.2022)

Colour...Colour... Which colour do you want to choose? I CHOOSE RED. The students of the pre-primary dressed up in bright hues and shades of red to enjoy the watermelon party. The teachers also participated in the program by serving watermelon to the students and the day ended with a fun and festivity of teachers and students of the pre-primary section.

Mother’s Day: (07.05.2022)

Second Saturday of May, each year, is celebrated as Mother’s Day. We also celebrated the day with the students of the preschool. To show their love for their mothers, the students of the pre-primary section made love cards for their mothers. The cards were then sent back with the child for their mothers. The day marked the warmth of the bond between a mother with its child.

Virtual Tour Grade VI: (25.05.2022)

Covid times were on, so were the precautions and preventions. So, we planned to bring the destination reach our students. Hence a virtual tour was arranged for the students of grades- VI ‘A’ & ‘B’. Educational virtual trip to Amul ice-cream factory was organised for these students.

Teacher’s Training Workshop (Madam Jyoti Nagranee): (25.05.2022)

‘Redefining the Role of a Teacher’ was the next title of the workshop for the teachers. The workshop was for the teachers of grades VIVIII, where they learnt how to deal with students, post pandemic. There were certain keywords that Madam Nagranee gave us, and we extracted those from the meeting and inculcated them to the maximum extent into our teaching lives.

Career Counselling Session (Mr. Rana Vikram Singh): (13.06.2022)

Virtual Science Exhibition: (31.05.2022) After the virtual tour to the Amul ice-cream factory, we organised a virtual science exhibition, where students, from their homes, in safety, prepared different projects and shared photographs and videos related to their topics. The entire project was organised by Ms. Asma, for grades VI to VIII. This virtual exhibition gave the students a platform to showcase their intellect, and it also maintained the academic bond between the teacher and the students, during the no-touch times of Covid.

What’s the next step in future? What should be the next stream of education? How to achieve and convince others, the ideas of our mind? All these most common questions of all adolescent students, with not very defined answers, just about to be ready for the world outside. All these questions and some more career related tips and tricks were shared with us by a renowned counsellor Mr. Rana Vikram Singh. He is an education consultant, mentor, trainer, coach and advisor. The students of grade XI participated in the program, and spoke to the coach about aspired dreams and how to attain them.

MAY & JUNE 2023

Yellow yellow dirty fellow. Not very dirty, a little messy though. The students of the pre-primary section enjoyed this day by nibbling into mangoes gleefully, and dressing up in yellow colour like the very cute mangoes.

Healthy- unhealthy food stalls: (21.07.2022)

What to eat and what not to eat.... To make the little buds of pre-primary understand this, the teachers’ prepared stalls of both in their building. The students were discouraged to eat food tagged as junk and they were explained why we should eat fresh food. It was a fun way of making the students differentiate between the two.

APR – DEC Yellow Day Celebration: (15.07.2022)

The students of grades I to V participated in the presentation of various activities done in class. The education imparted to them was displayed in a practical manner by the students, in front of their parents. Knowledge is gained more when it is taught. This was exhibited proficiently by the students of grades I to V.

Inter-House Science Quiz: (30.07.2022)

Our Einsteins to be, from grades IX-XII participated in the quiz composed of factual and application-based questions. It was an inter-house event that marked the victory of one of the houses, earning them a brownie point for their house. The quiz was strategically planned by the teachers of the science department into three different patterns of rounds with various questions.

Class Show Presentation: (28.07.2022- 30.07.2022)

When the entire world is busy with planning conquest and control over territories and demarcation of countries and borders, our students here organised a rally to support the campaign of ‘NO WAR’. The participation was shown by students of grades IX & X and with loud and firm intentions they marched through the DSM Campus to discourage war.

Theme Presentations: (08.08.2022)

What we learn in class, or the lessons that we revise at home; what is the practical importance of those lessons in life? Is it really worth learning those lessons? The students, through different tools and aids, performed activities of what they learn in the four walls of the classroom. The creative uses of charts, kitchen tools, laboratory equipment, etc was a part of this presentation.

Raksha Bandhan Celebration: (10.08.2022) This is an example of a bond in which brothers promise to safeguard their sisters from all evils. The Rakhi that sisters tie on the wrist of their brothers is not just a decorated string, but it is a metaphor of love and security. This festival was celebrated by the students of the pre-primary section by making decorated Rakhi strings. The students enthusiastically participated in the activity by making beautiful Rakhis.

APR – DEC No War Campaign: (06.08.2022)

With the unfurling of our National Flag on the occasion of Independence Day, our first Student’s Council vowed to adhere by the values and principles of the school. The also took the responsibility of trickling down the same into each student of the school. The Student’s Council then marched in the school compound, accepted the badge & sash by the Principal and also repeated the oath after the Principal.

Krishna Janmashtami: (17.08.2022)

The dark lord depicting Indian culture depicting love and sacrifice was so beautifully visible in our tiny tots, who dressed themselves as Radha and Krishna and celebrated the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami with their teachers. The festival was celebrated in the pre-primary section.

Theatre Workshop: (27.08.2022)

A produce of a month long, rigorous theatre workshop by Mr. Avinash Deshpande, a dramatist from NSD New Delhi, now an avid theatre person in Mumbai. He produced and directed a play performed by students of grades VI-IX & XI ‘Papa Kho Gaye’. It was performed by our students on a public platform provided by a renowned theatre group of the city: ‘Natyadeep’. Students received accolades and certificates for the show. The play was a comic representation of flaws of the society, making non-living things behave like humans.

Teacher’s Training Workshop (Madam Jyoti Nagranee): (27.08.2022) ‘How can educators manage better in their classes?’ was the question which kick-started the workshop. Many answers, but more were the questions. This included the ‘Class Dynamics’, of how to handle students with utmost care and dignity. Psychological and behavioural study of each student is an integral part of the teaching learning process. Learning about the true definition of authority is the essence of true teaching.

Independence Day & Investiture Ceremony: (15.08.2022)

We started with session of grade XI from this day after performing the ceremonial puja. The introduction of Humanities stream for the first time in our school brought a change in the composition of students on the school. All students were welcomed into the school with vermillion on forehead and warm hearts.

Teacher’s Day: (05.09.2022)

The birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, is celebrated as Teacher’s Day all over India. The teachers in our school celebrated this day by having a gettogether after the school hours with a musical show.

APR – DEC Session for Grade XI Begins: (01.09.2022)

People who help us…. The society helpers. Doctors, nurses, teachers and many more. The students of the pre-primary group celebrated gratitude towards them by participating in fancy dress, dressed up as these helpers.

SOF (Science Olympiad Foundation): (15.09.2022 & 22.09.2022)

The Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF), an educational foundation, conducts examinations in schools all over the world, in various subjects for different classes. This year we registered the students of grades VI-VIII in various subjects. The first examination was conducted for the subject of General Knowledge on 15.09.2022, and the second examination was held on 22.09.2022, on the subject of English. It is basically the subject aptitude test, which determines the position of a student in a particular subject.

Transport Mela: (23.09.2022) An elicit display of different types of transport for the students was arranged by the teachers. The main aim of the teachers was to let the students understand and look for themselves, how these vehicles look and work. The teachers excitedly solved the inquisitive words of the little kids of the preprimary section.

Fancy Dress Competition: (07.09.2022)

िघुपसत िाघव िाजािाम, पसतत पावन स तािाम The victory of good over evil, the triumph of truth over deceit. There is a range of expressive ways to celebrate glorious heritage, culture and traditions, this is Dussehra for us and this is what we will transfer to the generations below us. At PNS we celebrated our age-old tradition of demonstrating the victory of truth over lies, of good over evil, of right over wrong and of justice over injustice, with Ravan-Dehen. The students of pre-primary participated in the entire program with utmost belief of Raja Ram winning over Ravana.

Founder’s Day: (16.10.2022)

The day we all await the entire year, to celebrate, to be a part of. Our ‘Founder’s Day’. The theme that we framed for this Founder’s Day was ‘Tenali Ram’ and teachers and students worked day and night to make this program a grand success. The entire show was composed of 5 plays and 9 dances, from all over the world. The show exhibited vibrant colours and emotions leaving the audience awestruck.

APR – DEC Dussehra Celebration: (06.10.2022)

Diwali Celebration: (22.10.2022)

The festival of lights and crackers was celebrated in our school in a different manner this year. The students displayed a ‘Nukkad Natak’, which is an age-old tradition of our country to spread a message. The message that the students wanted to spread was to use burn lesser crackers and also save money from what they spend on Diwali for themselves. The importance of environment was also laid stress upon by the students through this ‘Street Play’. The teachers were also felicitated with Diwali gifts by the school management.

The SOF tests were held again in the school for the students interested in the subject of science. The questions varied from different studies of Science; Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Through the conduction of the science Olympiad, the quality of science education gains track, it makes the student increase his interest in science and also provides recognition to the students with outstanding achievement in the subject.

SOF (Science Olympiad Foundation): (18.10.22)

Everything around us is an array of different colours. Green is the most common colour in the natural world, which represents life and energy. In order to teach our children about the uses of colours in their immediate environment and to help them develop an understanding of green colour in many forms, we celebrated green day in the pre-primary section of our school. All the students and teachers came dressed up in green coloured dresses. The day was also marked with plantation of trees in the school campus.

Project Veergatha: (07.11.2022) A nation’s strength ultimately consists in what it can do on its own, and not in what it can borrow from others. A special assembly was conducted for the entire school to showcase the importance of unity and patriotism. The martyrs who helped us gain independence, and build a beautiful nation, an amalgamation of the rainbow colours in a single string.

Teacher’s Training Workshop (Madam Jyoti Nagranee): (08.11.2022) Team and Leader are two phases of the same coin, both sides are equally important. The workshop was about how a leader should be for the team and vice-versa. The concept of leadership and team building was showcased to the teachers with the help of power-point presentation and videos. It was an interactive session where teachers were able to comprehend terms like duties, responsibilities, authority, team-building, etc. ‘With great power comes great responsibilities.’

APR – DEC Green Day Celebration: (07.11.2022)

Maths Olympiad was conducted in the school under the SOF initiative to let the students showcase their aptitude in the subject of mathematics. The question paper consists of questions which lets the students get exposed to international level of competition in the subject. The aim of the tests is to foster an interest in maths and improve the mathematical skills of participants through these team-based competitions.

Children’s Day Celebration: (14.11.2022)

Nehru Ji considered children as the foundation of society as the real strength of the nation. This is the reason why the celebration of Children’s Day is done on his birth anniversary. Our school also celebrated this occasion, on various levels through different programs. The teachers presented a small program for students from grades Nursery to V. Grades VI-IX enjoyed a pot luck lunch in their respective grades, whereas grades X-XII enjoyed a friendly match to celebrate this day. The day was filled with loads of fun and happiness for all the students.

Declamation Competition: (16.11.2022) Declamation is done to mark a statement about the title provided. The students of grades VI-VIII participated in this literary activity, in the Hindi language. It was an inter-house event and points were rewarded to each house for their performance. The topics ranged from discipline in students’ life to time management. The topics were given with the intention of understanding the ideals of a student life.

Uttarakhand Sports Games, Kashipur: (22.11.2022-25.11.2022) The Niketians from grades VII-XII participated in the events of Volleyball and Badminton and also won accolades for the school. We won 3 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 1 bronze medal in the course of the entire event. The fruits of hard work of practice and perseverance was paid off well to the school. After the havoc filled COVID year, this kickstarted the relay of inter-state activity participation.

Teacher’s Team Spirit: (26.11.2022)

The small feet, became peddlers in the lush green ambience of the Micro colony, with their mother teachers. The students of the pre-primary section enjoyed the day by learning about leaves, flowers, buds, butterflies, etc. The teachers and students spent the entire day sitting in the garden and enjoying the day with various activities and most importantly: Nature Walk.

The arrival of the new Vice Principal, Mr. Arvind Kumar, was marked with team building activities of the teachers on the fourth Saturday. The activity was conducted to spread positivity amongst the teachers, by making each one write, one point of goodness for the other teachers. The activity invoked the feeling of inert confidence, and a feeling of trust in others.

Vegetables and Fruits Hawking: (30.11.2022) The Pre-primary group of teachers and students arranged for stalls of vegetables and fruits, highlighting upon the benefits of eating healthy. Together with this the team also showcased the difference between healthy and unhealthy food groups. The students were interested in learning about what to and what not to eat.

DECEMBER 2022

Inter-House Kabir Ke Dohe: (12.12.2022)

The poet in all the students was invoked, lyrically as the Kabir ke Dohe competition was declared for the students of grades VI-IX and XI. The students not only absorbed the Doha, but also interpreted its meaning and importance in life. All the houses and their house masters participated in the event with a lot of zeal and the feeling of enlightenment by those words.

The event of Tech Fest held in Bijnor by Sahodaya invited our school to participate in the Science exhibition where they wanted the students to build projects with an innovative approach and functional. The students of our school from grades IX and X participated in the exhibition by presenting three different working models. One of the projects showcased, the students working on the concept of an alarm system for the arrival of emergency vehicles before reaching a jam, the other being rainwater harvesting and generation of electricity by it and the last one was Smart Water Treatment, where the motor would automatically switch off as soon as the water is filled. CBSE RO Dehradun, Mr. Ranveer Singh, visited the fest and appreciated the students of our school for their performance and wished good luck to everyone. Our students marked their position, amongst the estimated 60 schools.

‘Sanrachna’ for grade-I, ‘Nanhe Pankh’ for grade-II, ‘Chu Le Aasma’ for gradeIII and ‘Hum se Hai Duniya’ for gradeIV, were the names given to the Class Show by the little buds, who would bloom to become beautiful flowers. This is our concept of the Class Show. Here students present various performances based on academic and non-academic topics, in front of their parents. The show was put up with the help of the mother teachers and the students for their parents to exhibit and conclude everything they studied in the entire end.

Class Show (Grade-I-IV): (30.11.2022-03.12.2022)

The tiny buds of grades Nursery to UKG bloomed with their talent. The cuteness, the energy, the innocence of the children bowled over the hearts of each parent and the teachers. We celebrated ‘Anand Utsav’ 2022 on the sunny day to mark Christmas and the advent of the Winter break for the preprimary.

The word fair represents fun, games and a lot of entertainment, when it is mentioned. But in our school, we associated another aspect with the other three; i.e., learning. The students of grades I-V organised a grand Maths Mela in the school premises with the help of the teachers, and most importantly the Mathematics Department.

Indian Sports National Games, Lucknow: (27.12.202230.12.2022) The Niketians from grades VII-XII participated in the events of Badminton and also won accolades for the school. We won 3 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 1 bronze medal in the course of the entire event. The fruits of hard work of practice and perseverance was paid off well to the school. This brought us to a beautiful end to the year 2022.

‘Anand Utsav’: (24.12.2022)

Republic Day Celebration: (26.01.2023) The 74th year as a Republic was a proud moment for all of us, and we celebrated the event with a March past and a musical tribute to our National Flag Hoisted by the teachers and students of our school. We also celebrated Basant Panchami by offering flowers to the idol of Maa Saraswati seeking her blessings to provide us enlightenment and righteousness.

Pareeksha Pe Charcha: (27.01.2023)

The entire nation was logged into the major Talk show hoisted by the Honourable Prime Minister of India, which was telecasted to focus on the solutions against stress of examination. The show catered the audience consisting of teachers, parents and students of grades IX to XII. PNS also showcased the live telecast in school as well as facilitated the parents and students with the link for the show. It proved to be helpful as our PM answered to various questions ushered over him from various corners of the country by various students.

Teacher’s Training Workshop (Madam Jyoti Nagranee): (28.01.2023

Stress is a station in the entire journey, on the road to success. Not everyone is enlightened on how to balance work and life in a manner in which neither the work nor their health is affected. Madam Nagranee conducted a very useful workshop on the topic ‘Work-life Harmony & Coping with Stress’. She provided us with keywords which we could preserve in our minds to facilitate ourselves with relaxation and peace.

JANUARY

Class Photography: (03.02.2023 & 07.02.2023) To capture the bouquet of smiling faces in a click, as the session ends, we preserved the moments of the session 2022-23 organising Class Photography. The entire school gathered class-wise with the respective teachers to create a nostalgia. Students of grades I to XII were clicked on 03.02.2023 and the students of the pre-primary were clicked on 07.02.2023.

Setting another Sports Milestone: (15.02.2023 & 19.02.2023) A student of grade III, of our school set the goals of the school high by securing ALL INDIA RANK #1 (under 11 category), in the Hamdard Second Squashers Open Squash Championship, New Delhi. By doing this we have achieved yet another position in the game of Squash and kept our traditions alive. Ansh Kumar, Son of Mr. Rakesh Kumar, from Dhampur, successfully prove the victory of talent in our country.

February 2023

Academic closure of the year: (03.03.2023 to 20.03.2023) Empower-II brought the session of 2022-23 to an intellectual end. The students came to school with a preparedness of their subjects and narrated the entire course on paper. The performance of the students would be analysed by the subject experts and the results would be setting yet another slab of performance for teachers and the students for the next session.

Scout - Guide Camp: (21.03.2023 to 23.03.2023)

Be prepared - to be physically strong, mentally active and morally straight - with the aim of achieving this objective, the scouts and guides of Pushp Niketan School Dhampur assembled for a three-day camp at the school premises, from 21.03.23 - 23.03.23 Enthusiastic scouts and guides, dressed in prim and proper uniforms arranged themselves in the horse shoe formation, and witnessed the Flag Breaking ceremony, after which the LOC (leader of the camp) declared it open. The scouts and guides proudly presented their abilities in knotting, lashing, gadget making, first aid, estimation, fire making etc.

Creative and effective thinking gets you to steps away from your default positions and approaches, this colourful strategy exposes learners to six different styles of thinking and helps them look at a problem from six different perspectives, The Teachers for VI to IX, not only participated in this activity but also learned different course of thinking. Here's what each of the Six Thinking Hats represents: The White Hat: Facts and Information. The Red Hat: Feelings and Emotions. The Black Hat: Caution. The Yellow Hat: Positives. The Green Hat: Creativity. The Blue Hat: Thinking.

Parent-teacher interaction: (27.03.2023)

The final interaction of parents and teachers for this session, to discuss mistakes of the past and improvement for the future, celebration of academic achievements of the students, prospects of the next session was organised. Hoping to begin the new year with new targets to achieve.

Teacher’s Training Workshop (Madam Jyoti Nagranee): (24.03.2023)

The Junior students created artistic master pieces out of the ramble they collected during their nature walk. The scout/guide company of Pushp Niketan School, Dhampur. The energetic scouts also built a Burma bridge in the school's park for all their team members to enjoy. It was a moment of great achievement for them to see even the scout master/guide captain walk successfully across the bridge. Each day was divided into well marked slots for different activities with reasonably spaced-out breaks. Every camping day ended with a fun filled campfire put up by the campers. The students bid goodbye to each other pledged to become better citizens, physically strong, mentally active and morally straight.
