It is such a privilege to watch something grow. To witness the scattered beginnings of an idea collide until they form something fragile, but tangible. To observe the different impressions left like fingerprints on the surface as it is molded into something substantial and solid. And finally, to watch it unfurl into a fully-fledged product that becomes a platform, giving life to a chorus of voices that are longing to be heard. This issue of Inkwell has been exactly that. With over 100 submissions, the Inkwell editing staff has worked tirelessly to nurture an idea that exhibits the creative writings of 50 Jupiter High School Students. We have seen the class and the magazine grow substantially since last year, and I am so proud to be a part of something that gives our young writers a place to showcase their talents and develop their voices. Introduction... 2 We allstarted somewhere, whetherit be a spark of inspiration from countless years ofreading, a coincidence, or as a result of an assignment. No matter how, we all began our writing journey the same way: with an idea. What Inkwell Inc. existsto do is allow unique opportunitiesto grow with writers, meet like-minded people, and showcase ourtalent as artists, and it all begins with this first magazine: a journey within ourselvesthrough colors. After COVID hit us, a lot of our emotions have been brought out, some old and some new. They have shown theirtrue colors, and now that the craze is dying down we are left to deal with all the confusingly overwhelming emotionsit hasleft behind. This magazine is meant to be a journey within ourselves and those emotionsthrough something familiar and hopeful: a rainbow. The magazine will progressthrough the colors of the rainbow and the feelings associated with each color, beginning with red (passion, anger, love, and lust) and ending with purple (mystery, magic, and royalty).
