Yuri Gagarin was the first person in space. He’s from Russia. He went into space on April 12th, 1961. The first person on the Moon was Neil Armstrong. His rocket landed on the Moon on July 20th, 1969. He’s from the United States of America.

Twelve astronauts have walked on the Moon. There are six American flags on the Moon. Four other countries have sent a rocket to the Moon, but there were no people in those rockets. These countries are Russia, India, China, and Japan. Astronauts are very healthy. They have to exercise every day and they have to study very hard. If you want to be an astronaut, you have to work very hard, exercise, and study every day.
