REGLAMENTO 61 SEMANA INTERNACIONAL DE CINE DE VALLADOLID 1. OBJETIVOS La SEMANA INTERNACIONAL DE CINE DE VALLADOLID tiene como objetivo básico la difusión y promoción de películas de categoría artística que contribuyan al conocimiento de la cinematografía mundial. 2. FECHAS La 61 Semana Internacional de Cine de Valladolid se celebrará del 22 al 29 de octubre del año 2016. SECCIONES El Festival constará de los siguientes apartados: a) SECCIÓN OFICIAL, que ofrecerá una panorámica del cine mundial de nuestros días. Los largometrajes y cortometrajes que participen en esta sección podrán entrar en concurso o estar fuera de él. b) PUNTO DE ENCUENTRO, muestra paralela de carácter competitivo que reúne primeros o segundos films de ficción que posean un especial relieve por su valía temática o estilística. Esta sección también incluye cortometrajes. c) TIEMPO DE HISTORIA, sección en la que compiten films documentales. d) DOC. ESPAÑA, sección en la que compiten films documentales nacionales. e) CASTILLA Y LEÓN EN CORTO, apartado competitivo para cortometrajes realizados por directores nacidos o residentes en la comunidad de Castilla y León, o que hayan sido rodados o producidos en dicha comunidad. f) CASTILLA Y LEÓN EN LARGO, muestra no competitiva de largometrajes y documentales realizados por directores de la comunidad de Castilla y León, o que hayan sido rodados o producidos en dicha comunidad. g) CICLOS, dedicados a la presentación y estudio de realizadores, géneros, estilos, cinematografías nacionales, cine y vino, etc.

h) SEMINCI JOVEN, sección competitiva destinada al público joven entre 12 y 18 años. i) MINIMINCI, una muestra no competitiva de películas para niños de entre 7 y 12 años. 4. REQUISITOS PARA PARTICIPACIÓN Las películas inscritas para participar en la SECCIÓN OFICIAL, PUNTO DE ENCUENTRO, TIEMPO DE HISTORIA y DOC. ESPAÑA deberán cumplir las siguientes condiciones: a) Estar producidas en 2016 ó en el último trimestre de 2015, y no haber sido presentadas en España, en salas públicas, DVD, vídeo o televisión. Tampoco pueden haber sido difundidas a través de Internet. b) No haber participado previamente en ningún otro festival español, ni en competición ni fuera de ella. Tampoco haber sido presentadas en ningún tipo de evento en España, especial o no. c) Los soportes de las copias deberán adecuarse a las exigencias técnicas de cada sección del festival. El soporte exigido para las películas de la Sección Oficial es preferiblemente DCP, pudiéndose admitir en circunstancias excepcionales 35mm. En las demás secciones del Festival se admitirán, además de DCP, 35mm, Betacam Digital y HDCAM (estándar). En los casos en los que el soporte sea DCP, los productores o representantes de la película proporcionarán al Departamento Técnico del Festival ([email protected]) las KDMs necesarias para cada uno de los servidores de las sedes en las que se proyecte la película. Los costes derivados de la generación de las mismas correrán a cargo de los productores o representantes de la película. Las copias se proyectarán en versión original con subtítulos en castellano o en inglés. En este segundo caso, se deberá remitir con anterioridad el texto de dichos subtítulos junto con un DVD, para que pueda prepararse su subtitulado electrónico. d) Podrán ser de largo o corto metraje. Se considerarán largometrajes las películas a partir de 60 minutos de duración y los cortometrajes no podrán superar los 30 minutos de duración. 5. PREMIOS Y JURADOS Entre todos los films de largo y corto metraje seleccionados para la SECCIÓN OFICIAL a concurso, un Jurado Internacional decidirá la concesión de los siguientes premios, que no podrán quedar desiertos: Largometrajes *ESPIGA DE ORO y ESPIGA DE PLATA, dotadas con 60.000 € y 20.000 €, respectivamente, que se entregarán a los distribuidores españoles de las películas vencedoras. * PREMIO 'PILAR MIRÓ' AL MEJOR NUEVO DIRECTOR, que compita con su primer o segundo largometraje para cine. Este galardón posee una dotación económica de 10.000 €, destinados al realizador elegido. * PREMIO AL MEJOR DIRECTOR.

* PREMIO A LA MEJOR ACTRIZ y AL MEJOR ACTOR. * PREMIO A LA MEJOR DIRECCIÓN DE FOTOGRAFÍA. * PREMIO 'Miguel Delibes' AL MEJOR GUIÓN. Cortometrajes * ESPIGA DE ORO y ESPIGA DE PLATA, dotadas con 6.000 € y 3.000 €, respectivamente, para los realizadores de los cortos que las obtengan. * PREMIO 'EFA SHORT FILM NOMINEE VALLADOLID 2016'. El cortometraje europeo vencedor de este galardón, dotado con 2.000 €, quedará seleccionado como uno de los finalistas al premio anual de la European Film Academy. Tanto entre los largos como entre los cortos no deberá concederse más de un premio 'ex aequo', cuya dotación económica, en caso de tenerla, se repartirá al 50%. El Premio 'EFA Short Film Nominee' no podrá otorgarse 'ex aequo'. Por su parte, la sección PUNTO DE ENCUENTRO contará con un Jurado de tres profesionales que otorgarán un PREMIO AL MEJOR LARGOMETRAJE y otro al MEJOR CORTOMETRAJE EXTRANJERO, dotados con 15.000 € y 3.000 €, respectivamente, para los directores de los films ganadores. El apartado 'La Noche del Corto Español' dispondrá de un premio específico de 3.000 € para el realizador del film ganador, galardón que también será otorgado por el mismo Jurado. SEMINCI JOVEN: El Premio de 6.000 € de esta sección será otorgado por votación popular de los estudiantes que asistan a las proyecciones, y recaerá en el director de la película que obtenga mayor puntuación tras el recuento de votos. Un Jurado de tres profesionales premiará al MEJOR DOCUMENTAL cinematográfico de la sección TIEMPO DE HISTORIA, premio que cuenta con una dotación económica de 20.000 € para el realizador del film. Este Jurado concederá también un SEGUNDO PREMIO, dotado con 10.000 € para el realizador. Ninguno de dichos galardones podrá quedar desierto. Otro Jurado de tres profesionales premiará al MEJOR DOCUMENTAL NACIONAL de la sección DOC. ESPAÑA, premio que cuenta con una dotación económica de 6.000 € para el realizador del film. 6. OBLIGACIONES DE LOS PREMIADOS Las películas que obtengan premios deberán especificar el premio obtenido en el Festival Internacional de Cine de Valladolid en todos sus afiches, comunicaciones, publicidad y en los títulos de las copias estrenadas en España tanto en su exhibición en salas como en su lanzamiento para formato doméstico (DVD, BluRay, etc.) y otras plataformas. 7. CÓMO PARTICIPAR La inscripción de películas en el Festival es gratuita. Para participar, deberá procederse de la siguiente forma: Películas para visionado del Comité de Selección Se puede remitir la película a través de un enlace permanente de reproducción, facilitando la contraseña, si fuese necesario, a la dirección de correo: [email protected]

También se podrá enviar una copia de visionado en DVD con subtítulos en castellano, inglés o francés a las oficinas de la Semana por servicio de mensajería, antes del 30 de junio de 2016. En ambos casos hay que cumplimentar y remitir también el Boletín de Inscripción del Festival que se encuentra alojado en la página web del evento: www.seminci.es El Festival no devolverá los DVD de aquellos films que no sean seleccionados. Películas seleccionadas e invitadas por el Comité de Selección a) La invitación de cada película seleccionada por el festival será estrictamente confidencial entre la dirección del mismo y los productores o representantes de la película invitada, hasta que el Festival decida anunciarlo oficialmente. b) Se enviará a la organización de la Semana el Boletín de Inscripción debidamente cumplimentado, un DVD, lista de subtítulos, fotos, sinopsis y créditos técnicos. c) Se remitirá la copia de la película por servicio de mensajería a: SEMANA INTERNACIONAL DE CINE DE VALLADOLID Teatro Calderón Calle Leopoldo Cano, s/n, 4ª planta 47003 VALLADOLID (ESPAÑA) Tfno: +34 983 426 640 El remitente comunicará inmediatamente al Festival los datos de su envío. Todas las películas deben llegar antes del 1 de octubre de 2016. d) El material promocional de cada película también debe estar en poder del Festival antes del 1 de octubre de 2016. Este material deberá enviarse en formato digital e incluir un pressbook, fotografías en alta resolución, así como archivos de audio y video (trailer 3 minutos). Su distribución online se realizará a través del área reservada a los medios de comunicación en la web oficial del festival (www.seminci.es). Asimismo se deben enviar 10 carteles a la dirección postal del certamen. 8. TRANSPORTE COPIAS DE PROYECCIÓN Los gastos de transporte, desde el lugar de expedición de la copia y viceversa, correrán a cargo de la entidad que inscriba la película. El seguro contratado por la Semana de Valladolid cubre los riesgos de incendio, pérdida, robo, daño y destrucción de la copia por el periodo comprendido entre la llegada al Festival y su retorno a la dirección indicada por quien haya inscrito el film. El plazo máximo para efectuar cualquier reclamación en torno a una copia será de UN MES a partir de la fecha de devolución. 9. REQUISITOS DE PROGRAMACIÓN La Dirección de la Semana establecerá el orden y la fecha de exhibición de cada película. Una vez efectuada la inscripción de un film, éste no podrá ser retirado ni presentado en España según determina el Artículo 4 de este Reglamento, antes de su proyección en Valladolid. La participación supone la plena aceptación del presente Reglamento. La interpretación del mismo será competencia de la Dirección de la Semana. En caso de duda, es decisiva la versión española del presente Reglamento.

REGULATIONS 61st VALLADOLID INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL 1. THE FESTIVAL The main objective of VALLADOLID INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL is to show and promote films of artistic quality which contribute to the knowledge of worldwide cinematography. 2. DATE AND CONTACT INFORMATION The 61st edition of Valladolid International Film Festival (Spain) will be held between 22nd and 29th October 2016. PROGRAMME The Festival consists of the following sections: a) OFFICIAL, offering a panorama of current international cinema. The feature-lengths and shorts in this section may participate either in or out of competition. b) MEETING POINT, a competitive parallel showcase of first and second fiction films worthy of special attention for their subject matter or style. Short films are also programmed. c) TIME OF HISTORY, a competitive section for documentaries. d) DOC. SPAIN, a competitive section for Spanish documentaries. e) SHORTS FROM CASTILE & LEON, a competitive section for shorts made or produced in the region, or made by directors who were born or live there. f) FEATURES FROM CASTILE & LEON, a non-competitive showcase of fiction feature-lengths or documentaries either made or produced in the region or by directors born there. g) SIDEBARS, devoted to the presentation and analysis of directors, genres, styles, a nation's cinema, cinema and wine, etc. h) SEMINCI JOVEN, a competitive section of films for a teenage public (12 to 18 yearolds).

i) MINIMINCI, a non-competitive showcase of films for 7 to 12 year-olds. 4. REQUIREMENTS All films entered for the OFFICIAL, MEETING POINT, TIME OF HISTORY and DOC. SPAIN sections must comply with the following conditions: a) They must be no more than twelve months old by October 2016 and must be Spanish premieres (no previous commercial, online, DVD, video or TV screening in Spain). b) They must not have been screened at any other film festival in Spain, neither in nor out of competition, nor have been presented in any kind of event. c) Formats acceptable for screening during the event depend on the installations of the venues where the film will be screened. Films participating in the Official Section should preferably be DCP, although, exceptionally, 35mm may be possible. Films participating in all other sections can be DCP, 35mm, Digibeta or HDCAM (standard). Either the producers or the person submitting the film should provide the technical team of the Festival ([email protected]) with the appropriate KDMs for each screening venue. The Festival will not cover the costs of generating these keys. Films will be screened in their original language version with Spanish or English subtitles. In the second case, a transcript of the subtitles/dialogue list and a DVD of the film must be supplied beforehand in order to permit preparation of electronic subtitles in Spanish. d) Films submitted may be feature-lengths or shorts. Films over 60 minutes will be considered feature-lengths. Short films must not exceed a running time of 30 minutes. 5. AWARDS AND JURIES An International Jury will decide the winners of the following awards from those feature-lengths and shorts selected for participation in competition in the OFFICIAL SECTION. None of these awards may be declared void: Feature-lengths * GOLDEN SPIKE and SILVER SPIKE with cash awards of 60.000 € and 20.000 €, respectively, for the Spanish distributors of these films. * 'PILAR MIRÓ' PRIZE TO THE BEST NEW DIRECTOR, competing with a first or second feature-length for the cinema. The filmmaker receives a cash award of 10.000 €. * BEST DIRECTOR Award. * BEST ACTRESS and BEST ACTOR Awards. * BEST DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY Award. * 'MIGUEL DELIBES' AWARD for BEST SCRIPT. Shorts * GOLDEN SPIKE and SILVER SPIKE with cash awards of 6.000 € and 3.000 €, respectively, for the director of each film.

* 'EFA SHORT FILM NOMINEE VALLADOLID 2016' Award. The director of the best European short will receive 2.000 €, and the film is automatically nominated as one of the finalists for the European Film Academy Short Film Award. Only one joint prize is permitted within the Awards to feature-lengths and one within the shorts category. Cash prizes, in this case, will be split equally. The 'EFA Short Film Nominee' prize cannot be awarded jointly. A Jury of three professionals will award a prize for the BEST FEATURE and one for the BEST FOREIGN SHORT in the MEETING POINT section. The director of the feature will receive 15.000 € and the director of the short 3.000 €. The subsection 'A Night of Spanish Shorts' will have a separate cash award of 3.000 € for the director of the winning film, also awarded by the Jury. SEMINCI JOVEN: A Prize of 6.000 € is awarded to the director of the winning film, according to the votes of the young spectators. A Jury of three professionals will award a prize of 20.000 € to the filmmaker of the BEST DOCUMENTARY in the TIME OF HISTORY section. The Jury will also award a SECOND PRIZE of 10,000 €, also for the filmmaker. All prizes must be conferred. Another Jury of three Spanish professionals will award a prize of 6.000 € to the filmmaker of the BEST DOCUMENTARY in the DOC. SPAIN section. 6. PRIZE WINNERS Award-winning films must feature the festival logo specifying the award won in Valladolid on all posterior prints, DVDs or Blu-rays of the film and on all publicity material. 7. SUBMISSION GUIDELINES Valladolid International Film Festival does not charge entry fees and films should be submitted as follows: Films being submitted for preview by the Selection Committee An entry form must be filled in for each submission. This is available on the Festival web page: www.seminci.es For preview purposes, films can be sent via a secure link to: [email protected] or a DVD screener with Spanish, English or French subtitles can be sent by courier to the Festival Office before June 30th, 2016. Remember to attach or include a completed entry form. Due to the large volume of DVDs received, the Festival is unable to return screeners. If your submission is successful you will be informed by the beginning of September. Films already officially invited by the Selection Committee a) The invitation sent for each film selected by the Festival must remain strictly confidential between the Festival management and the participant until the Festival makes an official announcement to this regard.

b) A fully completed entry form together with a DVD and a transcript of the subtitles/dialogue list of the film should be sent to the Festival Office. c) Prints should be forwarded by courier to: VALLADOLID INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL Teatro Calderón. Calle Leopoldo Cano, s/n. 47003 VALLADOLID (SPAIN). The Festival must be informed of transport details immediately afterwards. All prints should ideally arrive before October 1st, 2016. d) Press material and publicity for each film must also reach the Festival Office by October 1st. A press-book, stills and a three-minute trailer should be sent electronically for insertion on the Festival web page. 10 posters should be sent by post to the festival office. 8. TRANSPORT OF FILMS Unless negotiated otherwise, all transportation costs incurred in sending the print to and from Spain must be borne by the entity or individual(s) registering it for participation. The Festival insurance policy covers fire, theft, damage and destruction of the print for the period spanning its arrival until its return. The Festival will only accept claims on any print within a period of ONE MONTH after the date it was returned. 9. AGREEMENT The Festival Direction will determine the order and date of the screening of all films. Once a film has been registered for participation, it cannot be withdrawn or screened elsewhere in Spain, as specified in Art. 4, prior to its screening at Valladolid. Participation in the Festival implies the unconditional acceptance of all the aforementioned regulations. The interpretation of the regulations will be the exclusive responsibility of the Direction of the Valladolid International Film Festival. In any event of doubt, the Spanish version of these regulations will be deemed binding.
