XANTERRA PARKS & RESORTS The Canyon Village Lodging Redevelopment replaced 410 circa 1957 cabin-style lodging with equal units. Keeping the grand lodge tradition of the National Park Service, the project was consolidated into five larger buildings. The short construction season between harsh winters required interior spaces to be prefabricated offsite, transported to the park, and assembled in the spring and summer months. The interior features a rustic lodge aesthetic with beetle-kill pine wainscot, recycled glass and cast concrete counters, and exposed beam ceilings. Each lodge includes guest accommodations, plus lounge, and amenities spaces. Four of the five buildings are LEED Gold certified, and the fifth is LEED Silver.
