Beekeeping

Panaz HQ is fortunate enough to be surrounded by beautiful countryside, as such we recently introduced bee hives to support the local ecosystem. Our bees enhance biodiversity and help to pollinate a wide range of plants that are

010

important to a healthy environment and a sustainable society. We only remove honey from our bees when it is a genuine surplus. By doing this, we ensure the bees always have more than enough nutritious food to sustain the hive, whilst also providing the bees with the room they need to continue expanding their colony Occasionally we will feed struggling colonies with sugar if they have been unable to produce sufficient honey for themselves. This sometimes happens when weather conditions have been poor or when we rescue a swarm later in the season and they struggle to establish a self-sustaining colony before their food becomes scarce. Our team of volunteers at Panaz have become integral to the upkeep of the hives, whilst also embracing the opportunity to learn more about sustainability and biodiversity. As the bees are dormant throughout most of winter, this summer practice has also become an activity to promote wellbeing - something we view as very important for our employees and our business.

EV Charging & Electric Vehicles

016

017 We are driven by the challenge of creating new and better solutions to tackle climate change. Our new EV charging points at our head office offers our staff and our customers free EV charging. To support this initiative we are in the process of changing all our company vehicles to electric or hybrid with the objective of our company car policy becoming net zero by 2025.

019 Digital print technology allows us to not only tailor designs and colours to your requirements but also allows us to manufacture at point of order, therefore eliminating wastage. This is more efficient and has less of an impact on the environment. Panaz were the first to introduce dry printing methods in the textile industry, meaning no harmful chemicals or water waste. No solvents are used during our printing process and any possible contaminants, for example waste oil during routine maintenance, are collected from us by B & M Salvage Fuels, a company registered for the safe disposal of such products. All our printing inks are water soluble and our pattern books and pattern cards are made using recycled card, making them in turn recyclable.

Non-toxic Antimicrobial Protection KINDER TO THE ENVIRONMENT

As a leading supplier to the Healthcare sector, we understand how important infection control is. Working with laboratories in the UK we developed a solution that features antimicrobial properties that kill viruses and bacterium, including C.difficile and COVID. Most antimicrobial solutions contain harmful chemicals and heavy metals (such as silver) and also deplete by leeching into the environment. Instead, Panaz developed a water based, non-depleting and nonleeching solution with no harmful chemicals and no impact on the environment. Panaz’ Shieldplus antimicrobial solution is applied at point of manufacture ensuring full coverage and protection.
