Our department is comprised of 67 sworn officers and 7 full time employees. The Town of Tewksbury has 30,417 residents and is located 24 miles north of Boston. We average 48,000 calls for service and 600 arrests per year. This past year we welcomed 6 new members to the department, Officers Michael Jones, Ali Bourassa, Matthew O’Brien, Jacob Saad, Stephen Johnson, and Charissa Edmonds.
Matthew O’Brien graduated from Boylston Academy at the end of December 2022 and has begun his extensive Field Training. Our two (2) student officers Stephen Johnson and Charissa Edmonds are in the Lynnfield Academy with anticipated graduation planned for June 2023. An additional 3 student officers are scheduled to attend the January 30th Academy in Lynnfield. We congratulated 5 members of the department on completing 20 years of service in 2022. Congrats to:

Safe Halloween – was held in October at TMHS. The TMHS National Honor Society students combined efforts with their Trunk or Treat.
TPD’s Therapy Dogs Officer Waffles and Dr. Brownie both turned 1 this year & have officially passed their Therapy Dog International Test.
