ABSTRACT: This study investigates the effect of game location (home versus away) in high-level volleyball team performance as measured by game-related statistics. Archival data from 65,949 technical-tactical game actions during the Men's Senior World League (2005) were analysed. The observation tool devised was a combination of field format with category systems. The data were obtained through the official FIVB software known as the Volleyball Information System and analysed through Student's independent t-test and chi-squared test. The results suggest the presence of a home advantage in volleyball, since home teams won 57.5% of the games.
