Our goal is to uncover those truly being courageous enough to the versatility of being all that they can be and are willing to bare their souls. People who are emotionally invested. We want to tell stories that inspire you but also provide the howto’s so that you can also own your vision, goals and dreams in your own unique way. Thankyou, for choosing Versatile. Hey you, I hope you have been doing good through out the year. In this issue, our theme is love, sex and relationships and I don’t know exactly where you fit, on the category of singles, taken or for some of us it’s a bit complicated which is still okay. I don’t know how many of us are familiar with Ciara’s prayer but that is what I want us to do right now. I need us to pray because I know how overwhelming 2021 has been for most of us but the good this is we know who to turn to so; Jesus, we need you. We don’t fully understand everything right now but we believe you have great plans for us. We need you to restore our faith in love, whether it’s self love or relationship love, give us strength. Thank you for never judging us. Lord you say, “love is patient, love is kind, it doesn’t envy”.We believe in this pure love and this is what we want. Lord we are ready in Jesus name, Amen!.

SELF CARE: 101 SEX AS SELF CARE By: Michelle Mukami.

H

oney, self-care is all about giving our mental emotional and physical health priority. They don’t call it self-care, self-love for nothing for as much as we are working out, checking on our diets, meditating and even getting rest, sex should fit in the line-up of self-care too. Self-care is mostly an individual thing, so if sex makes you feel good physically, emotionally or spiritually then it might as well quality as a form of self-care. I believe alot of us want to improve their sexlife or probably want more fun between the sheets and that really requires some self-love,selfcare. Rule no.1, put yourself first. Prioritizing your own needs is an important aspect in all relationships especially sexual ones. Facts are that learning to be a receiver of pleasure is just as important as learning to be the giver. Secondly, know what puts you in the mood/turns you on. Do you probably like sexting with your partner for mental preparedness before sex or do you maybe like when your partner flirts with you, things like this really matter. Meditate on sex. Meditating on sex entails drinking lots of water, taking long baths making sure that you focus on the key areas you okay with, taking lots of fruits and also getting rest so that your body is ready. Learn to say no if need be. If you aren’t okay with a certain request from your partner or maybe you are too exhausted for sex, learn to say no and not feel bad about it. Being honest about your boundaries is quite empowering. For my singles and long-distanced relationship guys, self pleasure is key. I know alot of people aren’t okay with this and thats totally understandable but masturbation helps discover new pathways to pleasure and learn how to prioritize yourself in bed. With this few tips, I wish you a happy and healthy self-care self-love time.

self sabotage S

ometimes we do things or don’t do them because we believe we are unworthy of the results. Self-sabotaging behaviour in essence is an unconscious behaviour that prevents us from meeting our desires and goals. The conscious mind is usually at odds with the unconscious mind when it comes to putting ourselves in positions that will make us successful in our endeavours. The term self-limiting behaviour has been coined to further explain this phenomenon. The question of how we self-sabotage can be posed and there are varying answers that I will tackle in this excerpt. Self-sabotaging shows up in behaviours such as procrastination, perfectionism, addiction (food or drugs), self-doubt, and negative thinking. We have all experienced procrastination at some point in our lives and this materialises when we wait until the last minute to finish tasks, letting deadlines pass, delaying goals, and deviation. Usually, people procrastinate due to fear of defeat or fear of favourable outcome. This ends in not showing up for the task at hand fully, for a chance to triumph. We may have come across one or two perfectionists in our lifetime and what this means is a person who

likes things to go flawlessly. This is not essentially a bad trait even so, it takes a person controlling every single aspect of a situation to ensure it meets their standards and it is time-consuming. What we see with perfectionists is they won’t deliver on a task until they are sure it has gone according to their faultless plan which leads to self-sabotaging by secondguessing everything. Moreover, perfection is difficult and almost impossible to achieve in this life. Addiction is a state where one cannot control a particular habit consequently; the habit has power over them. Examples of addiction are food addiction, drug addiction, fitness addiction, gaming addiction, or sex addiction. These addictions alter the normal functioning of a person such as going to work, interacting with others, and taking advantage of opportunities that life offers. The unconscious mind pushes people with addiction issues to pursue them regardless of any desires they have of bettering themselves. In the end, the individual remains in the same cycle and cannot

better their lives. Self-doubt is when we do not believe in our abilities. This creates negative thoughts whereby we essentially tell ourselves that we cannot accomplish set goals. Negative thoughts can include: that job is too good for me, I cannot do this task, I do not deserve to be happy, I am less than everyone else and my idea is not good enough. Self-doubting thoughts plague most people and stops them from achieving greatness. Individuals that indulge in these thoughts act in ways that ensure they have no chance at all to succeed. Ultimately, this leads to low self-confidence. In conclusion, self-sabotaging behaviour is an inner critic that stops us from clutching onto unchartered opportunities that may end up challenging us. What stands in our way and is an impediment to our dreams is self-sabotaging behaviour. Author: Elaine K Andanje

The holiday is here guys and

during this time we tend to attend a lot of events from family get-togethers’ to parties with your friends or colleagues and in all this you need to look stunning. Honey, your dressing should be on point for each occasion. In this article be pointing out on dressing you should consider during this holiday season. Starting us off is the sweater dress, a sweater dress happens to be all things from comfortable, fashionable and sexy. This is an outfit that is one-and-done,you can literally pair it with anything from jewellery, a blazer or even a pair of heels. Sometimes the best outfits are

14

the ones that we don’t overthink. For instance a classic leather jacket paired with some denim jeans or a skirt and a pair of boots, sneakers or even heels is a good combo. If you are the type for going with the holiday mood, pick a vibrant colour. A suit set is our next outfit on the list. Should your family event be a formal kind or go with the traditional routes of decent dressing, this is definitely the go to outfit. Its an easy outfit that pairs well with accessories, sneakers, boots or heels.

There’s something romantic and elegant about an all white set. In order to spice up this monochromatic look, play around with textures pair with fur coats, fluffy scarfs or pieces with intricate beading. Shiny pieces is the last outfit idea you should consider. Add glamour to your holiday ensemble with silver or gold dress or even a suit. The choice is really up-to you when it comes to the style you want. Pick out the prettiest heels and pair it with some accessory and a clutch. This is a day to night outfit. You can wear this in a day event and still go partying in the night. Through this few tips, I hope you have fun times this holiday season.

An all white set, may it be a dress, a suit, or shorts.

“Breakups can shatter our worlds and we deserve to treat it with that gravity. “

LOVE, SEX AND RELATIONSHIP BREAKUP-BREAKTHROUGH. By:Michelle Mukami

16

H

oney, call a spade a spade: Breakups suck, doesn’t matter if you were the dumper or the dumpee, if its your signif-

icant other, a close family member, a friend or if the pain is fresh or still healing. Are you having trouble sleeping, or getting out of bed?. It could be the the depression or anxiety

feeling kicking in or maybe you are just re-living the moments in your head and feeling like you’ll never be whole again. Its hard to where to begin your healing journey after a breakup. Breakups can shatter our worlds and we deserve to treat it with that gravity. We need to understand that break-ups affect us phsycologically and neurobiologically as a first step towards getting comfortable with our inner pain and suffering. Statistics have it that women take a longer time to heal completely from a break-up. Women have tendancies

of getting attached too much but i think that’s just in our DNA. I need you to create a practical and personalized self care plan that you are going to into action from today onwards. You dont have to act all strong and kept after a loss of a relationship that was very significant and powerful in your life, its okay not to be okay. Step number one is to delete those cute photos in you gallery, the texts and voice notes you keep playing over and over and most importantly block the number. Grab a box of tissues, do some netflix and chill on those

movies that make you cry. Go have re-bound sex, run a bubble bath and drink wine or whiskey whaever works best for you_and lets break through this together.

I know a lot of you don’t know much about lingerie, so I am going to break

it down for you. Lingerie is a category of primarily women’s clothing including undergarments, sleepwear and light weighed robes. The choice of the word is often to imply that the garments are sexy alluring and fashionable. You may be finally dipping your toes in the world of sexy lingerie or perhaps just want the knowledge- either way there are many reasons you should know everything about lingerie. It gets you confident enough in choosing the right lingerie. Camisoles, is a woman’s loose fitting undergarment for the upper body. This are tanktops that can be worn underneath for extra coverage or to bed for a sexy night. Bra×Pantysets, its a set of matching bra and panties. A matching set of lingerie makes a woman feel sexy in her own body. Corsets, its tight and ment to slim your waist and accentuate your curves. Corsets are playful in that you can spice up your bedroom time and still elevate your ordinary outfit. Bodysuit, its a one-piece like garment usually light depending on how adventurous you are. The fascinating thing about bodysuits, is that you can pair with anything from jeans, shorts, denim. Gowns and Robes, I believe this is popular lingerie wear in women. Robes are open garments that tie from the front and can be worn while probably getting ready doing your makeup, at sleepovers or also at date nights. With this few tips ladies and gentlemen, I hope you grasped some lingerie love.

You can start with hands and then later on incorporate toys such as whips and belts as you and your partner become more experienced. It doesn’t have to be on the ass alone but also on other parts of the genitals as well. It adds sexual excitement to the experience. Pre-negotiated language: I’m not a big fan of it but there’s no harm in having a little fun if you’re comfortable with it. Words like ‘hoe’, ‘jerk’, ‘bitch’ etc. can be used and like every other move in bdsm should be pre-negotiated as one person’s turn on is another’s turn off. Tying up: Most people have fantasies about bondage. Scarfs are a good place to start coz unlike ropes they are soft and don’t do a lot of damage. Make sure a finger or two can be slipped between the scarf and the skin to allow for blood circulation. Pick a scarf that can take a little pulling and have fun.

Biting: it’s a great entry level way to play coz you can test different levels of pain. Pre-negotiate on where to bite and how hard you want to get bitten before the biting starts. Subbing/topping: Subbing is the role of a submissive person in bdsm while topping is the role of being the dominant person. You can simply start by having the subs arms tied behind your back while performing oral sex. It can be really hot entry level activity for peeps getting started. Blindfolding: You can try playing with pervetables while one person is blindfolded. These are everyday objects. You can run a feather over them, pinch them, spank them or tease them to the edge of orgasm. Exploring aspects of Bdsm can bring better communication skills to a relationship and brings you ultimately closer. It deepens trust as all good bdsm journeys begin with an honest conversation about what both people are interested in exploring. According to a study conducted by the International Society for Sexual medicine, BDSM practitioners are well-adjusted to certain measures than non-bdsm practitioners hence have a better mental space.
