Lebogang Sibiya Editor’s Note Launching Women's Club Magazine was the greatest opportunity I've ever experienced in the year 2019, wanting to do something of your own. However, I've come across challenges gathering content, working with people, finding right platforms to promote the publication, time management, finances and more. At times you would feel like things are not working out as you had hoped. I would stall before I publish and clients would consistently ask when are we publishing? It wasn't an easy journey and I do believe a lot of women have experienced the same situation and feel like giving up is an option. Always remind yourself why you started from the beginning. WOMAN, the year 2023 we are pushing consistently with no limitations. •Don't wish for it, work for it •It is not how good you are, it is how good you want to be •Giving up is not an option •If it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you •Don't dream your life, live your dream!! The quotes that always motivates me : Honestly, I've learned about "CONSISTENCY". No matter how hard the situation may be "KEEP PUSHING" you will never know who's watching. Thuthuka M. www.lpmediahouse.co.za COVER FEATURE @Thuthuka Mthembu @thuthuka.m_ @MthembuThuthuka 7

Acting has given her a platform to pursue her goals she wants to fulfil in the near future. The beautiful actress draws her inspiration from Meryl Streep and Zendaya. According to her Zendaya is young, yet successful and has achieved milestones at her young age. Thuthuka has business goals that will lead her to reach her destiny. However, she would prefer to keep that as a secret and surprise her fans to see her other personal interests apart from acting in the year 2023. Fame does not overwhelm thuthuka, she doesn't view fame as something that is big but she only views herself as someone who is deeply loved and appreciated. Thuthuka can be herself and the public loves her still. The advise she would love to give to young people who want to pusue their career in acting is to "KEEP TRYING". If you are lucky, the first door will open and if you are luckier, it wont. You will have a chance to try again and you will be better because of that, said the best and most loved actress COVER FEATURE Just keep trying! Acting is the only thing she has done so far as an employed indidvidual and her family has always supported her because they knew she has the talent naturally. www.lpmediahouse.co.za FASHION GET IN TOUCH [email protected] @082 088 8472 @l.o.r.d_original "I stand out from other designers because I pay full attention to my client's emotions of comfortability and the vision that the clients wants, I invest in quality and stitching", said Lungi. Lungile a poet, L.O.R.D and Sunday Sessions With Lungi founder, grew up in a township of Mamelodi, Khalambazo, from a young age she was an inquinsitive child who always wanted to experiment and try out new things. Lungile's upbringing was not all glory since she comes from an underpriviledged family , but that did not stop her martenal family to strive and show her full support ever since she begun her journey. One might wonder why she specifically chose the abbreviation L.O.R.D, it is actually in sync with Christ but it means Lungi's Outer Realm Designs. Lungi said that she was going through a phase when she came up with the name and felt like it was a sign from the Lord since she is a firm believer of God. L.O.R.D offers services in custom fashion designs, styling for special occasions, photoshoots and video shoots, the services are now expanded to kids collections called L.O.R.D Kids. Lungi collaborates with Doctors Without Borders in various projects with the aim of helping people and achieving the same goals. Designing is far beyond Aesthetics! Lungile Ditshego The challenges she faces is finding the right team to work with in carrying out the vision of the company. The society often compares fashion designers forgetting that there are different roles played by each such as tailoring, seamstress and designing. In the near future she sees L.O.R.D bagging collaborations with different organisations and working with media productions, designing their costumes. 9

POETRY ''What makes me stand out from other poets is my expression of my identity and individuality. Poetry is not just a craft that I practice, it's my lifestyle". Lungi hosts events on sundays called Sunday Sessions With Lungi, a platform for upcoming artists to showcase their talents be it poetry, music or storytelling. The Sunday Sessions are held at Mamelodi and the support she receives from the community is inefficient. Sometimes the upcoming artists are unproffesional, they drop her at a last minute and the turnout of people is low. Lungi is currently not sponsored by anyone, her family plays a huge role in assisting her with organising the event, she mentioned that LP Media House also supports her sessions. Lungi's inspiration comes from wanting do to better for the community and give upcoming artists exposure. www.lpmediahouse.co.za Sunday Sessions With Lungi "The Queen" GET IN TOUCH @ 082 088 8472 @sunday_sessions_with_lungi #Live Music and Poetry Performances #Showcasing Exceptional Talent #Serving Food for The Soul #Sharing Love and Light It's either now or never 10

Nonhlanhla Siwela, is a multitalented young black woman from Kwa-Zulu Natal, she is currently a second year student at University of Witwatersrand studying towards a Medical Degree. Nonhlanhla's dream is to become a Psychiatrist or a Gynaecologist. In psychology, she has a belief that Mental Health issues are the biggest things that needs to be tackled more especially in South Africa. Whereas in gynaecology, she sees a need to make women issues a priority. Growing up she always loved reading and did not limit herself as she embraced all aspects of herself and her skills. Nonhlanhla is a very creative young lady, she is an activist as well as a writer. She likes engaging in informative conversations for her to learn new things. Although she is studying towards a Medical Degree, she is also a speaker for women's rights as she does not want to limit herself in medicine. Nonhlanhla was motivated to be a writer as she was reading different kinds of books and that made her realize that she can venture out and learn more about human experiences. Back in High School she always loved English as she enjoyed how the lesson was being taught by her teachers and she became more curious to learn and read informative books that will help her grow as a writer and become versatile. Some of the challenges that Nonhlahla usually faces is not being able to expand her means as a writer, finding it difficult to balance her Medical Degree and being a writer at the same time as both responsibilities requires one to put their full focus on each one of them. She sometimes finds it difficult to market herself as financially she is not yet stable to do all of that by herself. Apart from being a writer, Nonhlanhla also has a clothing line that she recently launched with her poems written on them. She records some of her poetry and she has a spoken word album out. She would love take part in a creative project that is not only limited to poetry. She is also an activist, a catalyst of social impose and she tackles issues of Gender Based Violence. Nonhlanhla was inspired by many writers to write and publish her book called "The Rainbow is Black". The book talks about how South Africa needs to work together to find common grounds into seeing progress in our country. Her favourite book is called "The Colour Purple" by Alice Walker. She is currently working on a poetry book called "Reverse", it is divided into four (4) chapters; To feel, To heal, To learn and To love. She quotes to young women aspiring to be writers, "Keep Writing! Do not listen to the outside voices. Your words are a powerful weapon, not just to heal but to uplift other people". TIPS FOR WOMEN Weight loss is a journey, remember to be patient with yourself. The following is what helped me achieve my weight goal and actually be able to maintain it: Upon waking up on an empty stomach, take a glass of lemon, 1 spoon apple cider vinegar, half a teaspoon cayenne pepper, half a teaspoon cinnamon, a dash of honey for that sweet taste in boiled water. Never miss breakfast and make sure it’s high in protein Avoid too much sugar and salt Stay away from fizzy drinks and drink 2-3 litres of water per day instead. Prepare home cooked meals and invest time in meal prepping so that you don’t eat out when you are hungry because you don’t have food in the house. Use smaller plates. Avoid getting extremely hungry by snacking healthy in between meals. Increase your fibre intake, eat more fresh fruit and vegetables. Get enough sleep. Get active - exercise at least 3 times a week, take walks, jump rope, do aerobics and start running, this also helps for cardiovascular health. Find people who have the same weight goals so you can walk this journey together and hold each other accountable. Also remember, consistency and discipline is the key. Good luck!!
