Calma es una marca española dedicada al diseño y distribución de mueble de exterior que nació en 2004 en Alt Empordà (Girona). Esta localización, el Empordà, tierra conocida por la Tramuntana, el mar Mediterráneo y cuna de genios como Dalí, es precisamente, la fuente de inspiración de los diseños de Calma.
Calma is a spanish brand dedicated to the outdoor furniture design and distribution which was born in 2004 in Alt Empordà (Girona, Spain). This location, the Empordà region, known for the Tramuntana wind, the Mediterranean sea and cradle of genius such as Dalí, is precisely the source of inspiration of Calma’s designs.
Los productos de Calma, íntegramente diseñados y fabricados en España, no tienen un estilo estético definido, pero sí una filosofía de producto muy concreta: la voluntad de transmitir estos valores mediterráneos. El resultado son productos con marcado carácter propio, innovadores tanto en diseño como en la búsqueda y aportación de materiales de última generación, que combinan elegancia, funcionalidad y alta calidad.
Calma’s products don’t have a defined esthetic style, but they do have an specific product philosophy: the intention of transmitting these mediterranean values. As the result of this will, our products have a clear own character, are innovative in design and in the field of working with state of the art materials, and acombine elegance, functionality and high quality. Calma offers very versatile solutions with the aim of getting the most of all kind of outdoor spaces: chairs, tables, shades, deck chairs… All of them specially designed in order to bring comfort and elegance to porches, patios and terraces.
Calma ofrece soluciones muy versátiles con el objetivo de sacar el máximo partido a todo tipo de espacios exteriores: mesas, sillas, butacas, sombrillas, tumbonas,...Todos ellos diseñados especialmente para trasladar todo el confort y elegancia a porches, patios y terrazas.
CALMA shows at the major international trade fairs, such as Il Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan and Spoga+Gafa in Cologne.

Concept and description
Angle es una mesa para grandes espacios, escultural, arquitectónica, protagonista, pero a su vez, delicada y elegante. Un proyecto de aparente sencillez, bajo el cual se esconde un minucioso trabajo técnico. Angle es una mesa con encimera y bases en “sandwich” de porcelánico TPB con estructura de acero lacado y accesorios en acero inoxidable.
Angle is a table for large spaces, sculptural, architectural, but, at the same time, it is delicate and elegant. A project of apparent simplicity, but which has detailed technical work. Angle is a table with TPB porcelain sandwich, lacquered steel frame and stainless steel components.

Angle is an exercise of design where the new material has been the essence and the motivation. SerraydelaRocha highlight that “its geometry has been studied at the structural level to get maximum rigidity in the simplest way, achieving a visual effect of lightness”.

Colección de butaca y mesa de presencia robusta y elegante, de líneas firmes y rectas en su aspecto exterior, que contrastan con la pureza de su ergonomía interior, de líneas más suaves y amables. Fabricada con polietileno rotomoldeado texturizado o lacado y estructura de aluminio pintado al horno.
Collection composed of an armchair and a table of solid and elegant appearance with a external look of straight and steady lines contrasting with the purity of its internal ergonomics of smooth and soft lines. Cube is a rotational molded polyethylene collection, lacquered or textured with powder coating aluminum frame.

SerraydelaRocha afirman que Cube se concibió “partiendo de un cubo, entendiendo que esta forma geométrica pura es muchas veces la más práctica”. Optaron por esculpir la forma partiendo de un cubo exteriormente “como si de una escultura de barro se tratase, hasta conseguir la ergonomía ideal”.
SerraydelaRocha state that Cube “was conceived from a cube, understanding that this pure geometric shape is often the most practical”. They chose to carve the shape from a cube externally as if it were a clay sculpture, until they achieved the desired ergonomics.

Dorm es un sofá modular que aporta una novedosa solución técnica y conceptual: es prácticamente 100% de exterior. DORM tiene un núcleo interior de PE tapizado con tejido impermeable y desenfundable, que combina espumas de diversas densidades que garantizan un gran confort. Todo ello está unido por una estructura metálica polivalente que permite modular de distintas formas con la misma pieza.
Dorm is a modular sofa which provides an innovative technical and conceptual solution: it is 100% outdoor. It has an interior PE frame, waterproof and detachable upholstered fabric, which combines comfortable foams, and it is assembled with polyvalent stainless steel powder coating frame.

For the designers SerraydelaRocha, the process of gestation of ideas is hard to explain and often does not follow a established pattern. On Dorm collection, the concept they followed to design the sofa was just the perception of a sensation: lying down under a tree.

Gat es un modelo de sillón inclasificable, que juega con los volúmenes y el concepto de suspensión. Se trata de una pieza versátil, tanta para exterior como interior. Está fabricado en polietileno rotomoldeado de una sola pieza, texturizado o lacado y 100% reciclable. El acabado lacado le confiere una imagen más elegante y exclusiva.
Gat is an unclassifiable armchair that plays with volumes and the concept of suspension. It is a versatile piece for both outdoors and indoors. Gat is one piece, a rotomolded PE collection, lacquered or textured and 100% recyclable.

For SerraydelaRocha, Gat is “elegant, unbridled, silent, nocturnal”, and transmits emotions such as “passion, the night, celebration”, with an informal, entertaining or unconventional touch. Gat’s designers emphasize the taut line that the chair has, representative of the feline, which explains the name GAT.

Nua está disponible en 4 colores, con el set de cojines a juego para añadir confort y personalización. La corona superior posibilita la apertura circular de las varillas en 360º
Om, Red Dot “Best of the Best” 2015, is a collection of shades which brings a twist on the so characteristic umbrellas from the Mediterranean coast. Because of its innovative unfolding mechanism, the umbrella can be adapted to the needs of the moment, whether it is fully, half or hardly open. When the canopy is closed, a simple mechanism allows a 360° rotation of the canopy.

Es una original colección de sillas creadas a partir de una estructura de varilla de acero bicromatada y lacada, con asiento de plancha PE o PC plegado. A partir de una placa plana, y con un simple pliegue, se convierte en una pieza 3D, que se fija con 4 puntos de anclaje inamovibles.
Plis plas is an original chair collection created from a bichromated and lacquered steel bar frame with PE or PC folded board seat. From a flat board, and with a simple fold, it becomes a 3D piece, which is fixed with 4 anchoring points that are immovable.

La colección Sra es un conjunto de sillas para exterior que presenta un innovador sistema para sentarse: un tejido colocado sobre una estructura sin fijaciones, que es adaptable a otras estructuras. Este sistema permite, muy fácilmente, sustituir el asiento en caso de rotura, limpiarlo, cambiar su aspecto, hibernar, etc. sin necesidad de herramientas ni mecanismos complejos.
Sra (Mrs.) is a collection of chairs that presents an innovative seating system: a fabric placed on a non affixed structure which is adaptable to other structures.This system allows replacing easily the seat in case of breakage, cleaning, changing of appearance without needing complex tools or mechanisms.

Ten es una mesa de pino Larix con encimera de tablero tricapa y estructura de aluminio pintado al horno. Las líneas rectas y compactas de su estructura combinan con las formas sinuosas y curvilíneas de las vetas de la madera.

Trama es una colección con un distinguido acento mediterráneo. Está compuesta por una estructura inox 304 combinado con acabados en teca. Tiene un aspecto ligero por la transparencia de su volumen, que transmite frescura y relajación.
Trama is a collection with a distinguished Mediterranean accent. It has a light appearance due to the transparency of its volume, which transmits freshness and relaxation. Trama is a collection with Stanless Steel 304 frames combined with teak wood.

Trama es fruto de la inspiración que provocan las sombras de los listones de una persiana veneciana. Para los diseñadores SerraydelaRocha, la colección planteaba un desafío: “Debía ser moderna, a la vez que visualmente familiar y que no resultara extraña”.

Una es una colección completa de líneas equilibradas y sutiles, concebida para el exterior, aunque su polivalencia le permite identificarse con cualquier ambiente de interior. El asiento del sillón, de una sola pieza de polietileno, aporta aspectos de mejora e innovación medioambiental,al ser totalmente reciclable y reutilizable.
Una is a complete collection of balanced and subtle lines. Although it is designed for the outdoor habitat, it is polyvalent so can be identified with any interior spaces. Its seat, one-piece of polyethylene, is totally recyclable and reusable, so provides environmental improvement and innovation.
