4. CONTEXT 4.1. Main objective of the course: Personality Theories and Processes deals with the main theories of personality (or human behaviour), including their view of psychological processes, their different methods of research and practical applications, that is, ways of psychological assessment and treatment. This subject serves as a basis for the student to successfully study other subjects toward a Degree and a Master. It also provides basic knowledge and skills for the professional practice of psychology.

4.2 Previous knowledge: Basic knowledge of English, user information technology, use of the Internet and library are recommended.

9. EVALUATION SYSTEM 9.1. Aspects and/or criteria: - The course is divided into theory (teaching group) and practice (working groups). - The material on the exam on theory is taken from: (1) content given by the professors in class, (2) textbook and (3) material the professors may have placed on the course WebCT. - For the practical part, there will be two team projects consisting of an information and document search on a major author in psychology. The professors will place the instructions necessary for doing the project properly on the course WebCT. 9.2. Modalities and instruments: - The mark on the theoretical part shall be either by an open-ended questionnaire or by exam of 35 threechoice questions. - The mark on the practical part shall be based on evaluation of the written project reports. 9.3. Marking system: - The top mark in the course is 10 points, 7 for the theoretical part and 3 for the practical part. As there are two projects, each project is worth a maximum of 1.5 points. - For a passing mark in the course, a minimum of five points are required, of which three must be on the theoretical part. If this minimum is not achieved, the project scores will not be added on. - The projects are not compulsory.
