November 27, 2016 - Second Sunday of Advent

Message from Msgr. Schwanger My Dear Family of Our Lady of Lourdes, This Sunday is the first Sunday of Advent, the season of preparation and of hope. We have published the Advent Calendar for Our Lady of Lourdes in one page so you can put it on your refrigerator or bulletin board and take full advantage of this beautiful season. If you have received the calendar from us in your email please forward it to your family and friends and invite them to join us as well. For the first Sunday of Advent we are blessing the parish Advent Wreath together with your Advent Wreath that you have brought from home. If you do not have an Advent Wreath for home you can get one at our Holy Boutique. Our Angel Tree returns and will be set up in the outside vestibule. The Angel Tree has ornaments on it with the names of people who could use and would love a little help and affection at Christmas. Each ornament has a suggested gift on it and our St. Vincent de Paul Society will be collecting and distributing our gifts.

Our annual Mass of Consecration to Jesus through Mary will on the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, Thursday, December 8th at 7:00 p.m. The traditional Gritería in honor of the Immaculate Conception will be celebrated the evening prior to the consecration. The third Sunday of Advent follows with the blessing of our expectant mothers, their children in the womb, and their families. Advent is a beautiful time to celebrate God’s gift of life and to say yes with Mary to our place in His divine plan. Friday, December 16th, our choirs will offer their annual concert at 8 pm in the main church. Each year that concert grows larger and more beautiful! Finally, on the 4th Sunday of Advent we will bless our Infant Jesus for the parish crèche and invite you to bring the baby Jesus from your crèche at home to share in the blessing. Advent, well lived, helps us to enter into the joy of Christmas when we gather to celebrate our Savior’s birth. Come and join us!

Mensaje de Mons. Schwanger Mi Querida Familia de Nuestra Señora de Lourdes, Este domingo es el primer domingo de Adviento, la estación de preparación y de esperanza. Hemos publicado el Calendario de Adviento para Nuestra Señora de Lourdes en una página para que pueda ponerlo en su refrigerador o tablón de anuncios y aprovechar al máximo esta hermosa temporada. Si usted ha recibido el calendario de nosotros en su correo electrónico por favor envíelo a su familia y amigos e invítelos a unirse a nosotros también. Para el primer domingo de Adviento estamos bendiciendo la Corona de Adviento de la parroquia junto a la Corona de Adviento de ustedes que han traído de casa. Si usted no tiene una Corona de Adviento para su casa puede conseguirla en nuestra Tienda. Nuestro Árbol de Ángeles regresa y se instalará en el vestíbulo exterior. El Árbol de Ángeles tiene ornamentos en él con los nombres de las personas que podrían utilizar y les encantaría un poco de ayuda y afecto en la Navidad. Cada ornamento tiene un regalo sugerido en él y nuestra Sociedad de San Vicente de Paúl estará recolectando y distribuyendo nuestros regalos.

Nuestra Misa anual de Consagración a Jesús a través de María será en la Solemnidad de la Inmaculada Concepción, el jueves 8 de diciembre a las 7:00 pm. La tradicional Gritería en honor a la Inmaculada Concepción se celebrará la noche anterior a la Consagración. El tercer domingo de Adviento sigue con la bendición de nuestras madres embarazadas, sus hijos en el vientre y sus familias. El Adviento es un tiempo hermoso para celebrar el regalo de la vida de parte de Dios y para decirle sí con María a nuestro lugar en Su plan divino. El viernes 16 de diciembre, nuestros coros ofrecerán su concierto anual a las 8 pm en la iglesia principal. ¡Cada año este concierto crece más grande y más hermoso! Por último, en el cuarto domingo de Adviento bendeciremos a nuestro Niño Jesús del nacimiento de la parroquia e invitamos a traer al niño Jesús de su nacimiento a casa para compartir la bendición. El Adviento, bien vivido, nos ayuda a entrar en el gozo de la Navidad cuando nos reunimos para celebrar el nacimiento de nuestro Salvador. ¡Ven y únete a nosotros!
