History, outline and targets In 2020, women's cricket in England was restructured, creating eight new 'regional hub' teams, with the intention of playing both 50-over and 20-over cricket. Sunrisers Cricket were one of the sides created under this structure, representing the London and East region, Middlesex, Essex, Northamptonshire, Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, Norfolk, Bedfordshire and Huntingdonshire, as well as Marylebone Cricket Club. With our close links with Sunrisers, we have formed the Centre of Excellence. This programme has a number of minimum standards which gets audited regularly to ensure we remain compliant whilst our primary purpose, as directed, is to produce cricketers for the Sunrisers Emerging Player Programmes Players will be sent to the Sunrisers Pathway sessions at various times through the programme if they are deemed ready*. This could be bi monthly sessions, ad-hock or not at all. (more details will follow on this in due course)
