RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) If you missed the registration for RCIA classes for adults on Aug. 4, you may come by the Church office during the week from 9:00 am until 6:00 pm to complete your registration. Taller de Oración y Vida

Invitamos a la comunidad de San Jose a participar en el Taller de Oración y vida. ¿Qué son los talleres de oración y vida? Son un servicio eclesial que el Padre Ignacio Larrañaga inicio en 1984. El taller consista de quince sesiones. Cada una dura dos horas y la sesión es semanal. El taller es dirigido por un guía cuya misión consiste en poner en práctica el espíritu y los contenidos del manual. El taller es: a.) Una escuela de oración (se aprende y profundiza en el arte de orar) b.) Es una escuela de vida (el asistente va incrementando su fe en el día a día) c.) Es una escuela apostólica (ya que es un vivero de vocaciones Apostólicas). En conclusión, los T.O.V. son un eficaz programa de la nueva Evangelización. Informe e inscripciones con la Sra. Karime Santamaria al (512)998-3402, el cupo es limitado. • • • Clerical Endowment Fund (C. E. F.) Prayer Cards: Cards are available in the Parish Office for a donation of $2.00 or $5.00. Perpetual Certificates are also available. These enrollments make excellent gifts for many occasions. Proceeds from these donations are used to educate Seminarians for the Diocese. The Fund is also used to make low interest loans to parishes for their building programs. This has been a project of the Austin Diocesan Council of Catholic Women since 1948.

TODAY Sunday, Aug. 25th In the School Building Beginning after the 7:30 AM Mass and ending at 3:00 PM. The registration fee is $45.00 for one child and $75.00 for 2 or more children of one family. If you are in need of financial assistance this year, half of the fee is required at the time of registration and the rest must be paid by Dec. 30, 2013 If you will be registering your children for a Sacramental Class this upcoming year NOW is the time to get those baptismals ready. If you are registering your teenager for 2nd year Confirmation you will also need their 1st Communion certificate or a copy of the baptismal with notations on the back side. If your child was baptized here at San Jose you may request a copy from our main church office for just $5.00. If your child was baptized at another parish or in another country you need to contact the parish in which they were baptized for a copy. Copies may be faxed to 512-443-1212 at the attention to Religious Education before registration day. We will not be registering anyone for a Sacramental Class without a copy of his or her baptismal.

Los Siete Pilares de la Espiritualidad Católica del Libro por Matthew Kelly Redescubre el Catolicismo Los siete pilares de la espiritualidad católica que discutiremos en esta sección combinan en un conjunto de ejercicios espirituales, dos mil años de sabiduría espiritual. Pueden ser prácticas antiguas, pero no te confundas creyendo que no son relevantes en la vida del mundo de hoy. Estas prácticas son dinámicas y siempre frescas. Es una maravillosa práctica de la que la que todos podemos beneficiarnos. Tal vez tu objeción sea que te obligaron a rezar el rosario cuando eras niño. Si este es el caso, deja atrás esa experiencia y redescubre para ti esta oración maravillosa. No dejes que tu futuro sea robado por tu pasado. Empecé a rezar el rosario porque es una forma de oración que me parece muy tranquilizadora, tanto espiritual como mentalmente. Hoy, rezo el rosario porque pienso que es la manera más simple de reflexionar sobre la vida y enseñanzas de Jesucristo. Para ubicar esto en el contexto de nuestro viaje espiritual, pienso que como cristianos estamos llamados a

imitar a Jesús. Es imposible imitar a alguien que no conocemos y a Jesús llegamos a conocerlo en las Escrituras, en los sacramentos y por medio de tantas personas y lugares. El rosario es una forma más. Al rezar el rosario, podemos meditar muchos otros aspectos de la vida de Jesús en un tiempo relativamente corto. Como dijimos anteriormente, las acciones de nuestra vida son definidas por nuestros pensamientos más dominantes: si nuestras acciones van a ser similares a aquellas de Cristo, ayudaría mucho si meditáramos sobre su vida y enseñanzas con regularidad. Una mente tranquila es fruto de la sabiduría. La tranquilidad mental es resultado de la práctica paciente del auto control. Muy pocas prácticas te ayudan a adquirir esta paz mental, de corazón y de espíritu como lo hace el rosario y al aprender a dirigir tus pensamientos hacia Dios, aprendes a dirigir tu vida hacia Dios. En el rosario, tenemos veinte misterios que engendran veinte lecciones de vida, de amor, de búsqueda de la virtud y de la grandeza del plan de Dios para la humanidad. María es la mujer más famosa de la historia. Ella está a la cabeza de todas las mujeres importantes que han ganado fama por vivir vidas de virtud. Ella ha inspirado más arte y música que ninguna otra mujer en la historia, e incluso en la época actual, María fascina la imaginación de hombres y mujeres de toda creencia.
