from MR.

BROOKE At Wheaton Christian Grammar School, we firmly believe in the work that God is doing in the next generation of students. We consider it a privilege to partner with families and the local church as we unite to raise children to love the Lord and love others.  As your family considers WCGS, please know that we exist to educate, train, and nurture children for godliness and excellence so they are equipped to engage their world for Jesus Christ. It is a gift to fill our hallways and classrooms with Psalm 139 children, created in the image of God, to pursue academic excellence and spiritual growth. We believe God can transform each child and do far more than we could ever ask or imagine (Eph. 3:20). As you consider this type of investment into your child(ren), we want to be as helpful as possible. Our team is here and ready to assist your family to better understand the purpose of WCGS and the application process. We look forward to getting to know your family and are grateful for your interest in WCGS.

We are so glad you're here! Thank you for your interest in Wheaton Christian Grammar School! We are thrilled that you are visiting, and we want to provide you with the information you need to make the best decision for your family. WCGS began in 1942 in a small house in Wheaton, Illinois with only a handful of students. After growing to over 500 students and outgrowing three buildings, we can certainly say that the Lord has been faithful to Wheaton Christian Grammar School throughout its history, and we are continuing to do His work here in our school, now located in a beautiful, state-of-the-art facility in Winfield, Illinois.

Declaration of Faith WE BELIEVE STATEMENTS THE SCHOOL SUBSCRIBES TO THE FOLLOWING DECLARATION OF FAITH, AND ALL ITS EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS ARE TO BE IN HARMONY WITH IT.

We believe in the Scriptures of the Old and the New Testaments as verbally inspired by God and inerrant in the original writing, and that they are of supreme and final authority in faith and life. We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true man. We believe that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned, and thereby incurred, not only physical death, but also that spiritual death which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature, and, in the case of those who reach moral responsibility, become sinners in thought, word, and deed. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins, according to the Scriptures, as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice; and that all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood. We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into Heaven, and in His present life there for us, as High Priest and Advocate. We believe in “that blessed hope,” the personal, premillennial, and imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit, and thereby become children of God. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved and the everlasting punishment of the lost.

"We chose to send our children to WCGS to come alongside the efforts we make in the home and those of our church to nurture the faith of our kids and to help them know and love our Savior. We’ve found that and so much more. We’ve been blown away by the love the teachers and administration have shown our family, the community with other parents, and the quality of the education. We’ve been blessed by WCGS!" - Mike and Whitney McKevitt 4

Meet the Yang Family My husband and I are first-generation immigrants. We didn't grow up in Christian homes and had never heard the Gospel until we came to the states about 16 years ago. When we looked for schools for our children, we wanted the best of both worlds: We wanted a school with an excellent academic program; We also wanted a community that would encourage our kids to have a genuine relationship with their Creator and Savior. Wheaton Christian Grammar School has exceeded our expectations on both accounts. Both of my children transferred to WCGS as 1st graders. The preschool and the kindergarten program they went to was tiny, so when they visited WCGS for the first time, they were both excited and anxious. My older son was a little hesitant when we told him he would go to a new school as a first grader. He was unsure if he would like the "big" school, so we signed him up to shadow the 1st grade class for a day in January 2019. He came home with a big smile and told me that all his "new friends" welcomed him to join the school for the next school year. That smile sealed the deal. Both of my children are challenged academically and spiritually at Wheaton Christian Grammar School. All of their teachers know them as individuals and care about their unique gifts, talents, and areas to grow. Teachers challenge them with high expectations and encouragement, and both of my children are able to thrive academically and spiritually. One spiritual highlight was when my 2nd grader came to accept Jesus in his heart as his personal Lord and Savior earlier in October this year. Watching my son's face light up as his teacher shared this news with me after school, he proudly proclaimed, "I told everyone about this good news

today, and angels are having a PARTY in heaven!" A few days later, he received a lovely hand-written card from Mr. Painter congratulating him on his spiritual birthday. The genuine joy and the celebrations that he experienced were invaluable. In the past few years, we have all faced the temporary challenges of COVID-19. But at WCGS I felt my children's education never got interrupted. My children learned many valuable lessons beyond academics during the past three years. They became resilient, grateful, brave, and kind. Not to mention, this is such a welcoming place! Several administrators, staff, and faculty know our names and remember the details of our families. They care about our family and children and often earnestly pray for us whenever we share prayer requests. We have found Wheaton Christian Grammar School to be a place deeply rooted in Biblical Truth and built by a group of educators who genuinely care about the students and the parents. We LOVE WCGS, and my children love being here. This is a place where they feel a sense of belonging, and they are seen and challenged. As parents, we cannot ask for a better partnership with a school to shape and prepare our children for the future.

WHAT WCGS MEANS TO ME By Forrest Schauer '22

GRAD GRAD GRAD

Throughout my years at WCGS, I saw God at work through my teachers, administrators, and peers. While the years went by fast, God used every moment to strengthen my faith, improve my critical thinking abilities, and shape me into a community builder. My time at WCGS was rooted in a meaningful relationship with Christ and a strong foundation for learning. I was taught to look for God in every class, and through these teachings I gained a greater appreciation of God’s everyday blessings. WCGS has made a profound impact on my life in countless ways. One specific way that WCGS impacted me was through rigorous academic classes. The teachers at WCGS challenge students to strive for excellence by While the empowering students to ask questions years went by and seek out knowledge. Every assignment, whether it was a debate in fast, God used science or a creative writing assignment every moment in English, tested my knowledge and to strengthen my faith, improve my helped me to grow with purpose. Each student is challenged in unique ways and critical thinking abilities, and shape develops a deeper understanding of me into a community builder. his/her own God-given talents and abilities through exploring different subjects. I have learned to be an effective communicator in the classroom and collaborate well with my peers. Through my personal involvement in jazz band, I gained a greater understanding of how God works to connect with us through music. WCGS also provides many co-curricular opportunities for students to learn more about their gifts outside of the classroom. Joining the robotics team at WCGS helped further develop my passion for science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) through hands-on learning. I was also fortunate to utilize my love of reading on the Battle of the Books team. The athletic programs at WCGS teach many important lessons outside of the classroom. The foundation for these amazing experiences at WCGS is the teachers, sponsors, and coaches. Every teacher knows you by name and comes alongside you when you are struggling. The teachers go out of their way to ensure every student can achieve success and will not hesitate to help a student individually. At WCGS, the teachers feel like your friends and partners in your journey of faith.

Not only was I able to see God’s work in the Bible, but also in the angles of an isosceles triangle, or the nucleus at the center of a cell.

Another characteristic that makes WCGS unique is the strong sense of community. The entire staff at WCGS is friendly and welcoming from the first day you step into the building. You are encouraged to build strong personal relationships with your peers and teachers, and they become partners in building your relationship with God. Everyone cares and looks out for each other. I feel I have formed strong friendships with my peers that I pray will last my whole life. In a Leadership and Spiritual Formation class, students were taught how to serve their community and lead others. We learned about the importance of legacy and leaving something behind at our school. This class prompted a group of eighth grade boys to form the Boys' Bible Club. We read the book of Proverbs and engaged in meaningful discussions. WCGS also taught me how to be a better servant of God and provide for my community. Ephesians 6:7 states, “Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people…” Throughout my years at WCGS, I had the opportunity to serve in numerous ways: Feed My Starving Children, Samaritan’s Purse, By The Hand, and visiting Windsor Park. The community at WCGS is as caring and compassionate as a second family.

Perhaps the most important aspect of WCGS is the strong faith everyone holds in the Lord. It is evident through their teachings that every teacher and administrator has a relationship with God and genuinely cares about helping you through your spiritual journey. A biblical worldview is integrated into every class, not just Bible class. Not only was I able to see God’s work in the Bible, but also in the angles of an isosceles triangle, or the nucleus at the center of a cell. I found it a blessing that we were able to openly discuss our faith and pray with one another. I have grown more comfortable praying publicly and had the opportunity to pray over everyone’s meal at the Eighth Grade Trip. Overall, my faith has been strengthened through my time at WCGS. Every day at WCGS, God was at work teaching me His principles, and it has always been in His plan that I attend this amazing school. I will never forget the lessons I learned at WCGS and the friends I made along the way.

AFFORDING WCGS 2023-2024

Wheaton Christian Grammar School believes in the importance of children receiving an exceptional, Christcentered education. Therefore, we provide assistance to help families with a demonstrated financial need.

Tuition Assistance Grants Tuition assistance grants are need-based financial aid that is administered and funded by WCGS. An independent organization, FACTS, processes applications for our applying families to assess their level of need. All personal and financial information is kept strictly confidential and secure. You will be charged a nonrefundable $35 fee per family by FACTS. FACTS calculates a number of factors in determining family need including income, expenses, assets, family size, and the number of children attending WCGS. Click here to access the FACTS application.

How is aid awarded? Once your FACTS application and all supporting documents are submitted, FACTS will process the application and provide WCGS with a report recommending an award amount. The Tuition Assistance Committee will take into consideration the FACTS recommendation and extenuating circumstances as provided by the family on the application. Once the committee determines the award amount, WCGS will send families an email advising them of their tuition assistance for the 2023-2024 school year. For new students, tuition assistance award letters are distributed only after the student has completed the admissions process and been accepted to WCGS. Tuition assistance awards are good for one school year only. All families (returning and new) who would like to be considered for tuition assistance must complete a tuition assistance application each school year.

If you have any questions about tuition assistance, please contact Vange Schock, Business Director, at [email protected].
