Las bandas de sellado poseen excelente resistencia a una variedad de químicos, fluidos y aceites así como también en aplicaciones de alto voltaje. En aplicaciones con ácidos, álcalis diluidos y soluciones salinas, ya sea con alta temperatura o en frio, las bandas presentan efectos mínimos. Ácidos y álcalis concentrados pueden afectan las propiedades de las bandas especialmente ácidos oxidantes como el ácido sulfúrico. Líquidos polares, como alcoholes de cadena corta y acetonas pueden causar hinchamiento de la banda sin embargo pueden ser utilizadas con la correcta aplicación. En aplicaciones de líquidos apolares, lineales o hidrocarburos cíclicos, alifáticos o aceites minerales y gasolinas las bandas pueden ser utilizadas en áreas con menor superficie de exposición al fluido. La siguiente tabla muestra el listado de químicos con los que han sido testeadas las bandas y sus efectos durante 336 horas continuas de aplicación en sumergencia total a una temperatura de 49°C (120°F).
