Fabrics Always treat dirt marks as quickly as possible. Vacuum, or clean with dry foam or a lukewarm solution of mild detergent and water.

Leather Wipe leather regularly with a damp cloth and a very mild soap solution. Avoid saturating the leather. Afterwards, wipe and polish with a dry cloth. Do not use cleaning agents containing solvents such as alcohol or benzine.

Types of wood / Tipos de madera / Houtsoorten
Properties of solid wood Wood is a natural product. Differences in colour and structure are normal and give each piece of furniture its individual character. The dimensions of wood also change depending on the temperature and humidity. Our tables are thus made in such a way that the wood can expand and contract. Nevertheless, hairline cracks and a slight warping of the tabletop cannot be ruled out altogether, particularly if the indoor climate is very dry in winter or very damp in autumn. The optimum humidity for solid wooden furniture is around 55 percent. Values below 45 percent can lead to cracks in the structure of the wood.

De optimale luchtvochtigheid voor meubels van massief hout bedraagt ca. 55 procent. Waarden beneden 45 procent kunnen tot barsten in de structuur van massief hout leiden.
Solid wood structure A tree must grow for between 80 and 140 years before it is suitable for processing. During this time, the wood of each tree develops its own unique character. The structure, colour, weight and how the wood reacts during processing not only affect the manufacturing process but also lend expression to the wood. Each table Girsberger makes is therefore a one-off.

Table surface Our wooden tables are treated with a special hard-wearing, non-fade, two-part protective varnish. This varnish is resistant to water, alcohol and many acids and solvents, and is also very resistant to ageing. The surface becomes fully resistant and hardened after around 6 weeks. Clean with a damp cloth, using soapy water if necessary. We do not recommend the use of furniture care products containing silicon.
Superficie del tablero Nuestras mesas de madera están tratadas con un barniz de protección de dos componentes especialmente consistente y resistente a la luz. Este barniz es resistente al agua, al alcohol y a numerosos ácidos y disolventes; además es muy resistente al envejecimiento. Oiled and waxed surfaces are also available on request. These surfaces require 30 days to become completely hardened, after which they are fully durable. Clean with a damp cloth, using soapy water to remove particularly difficult marks. To ensure that the surface retains its protective properties, oiled surfaces must be re-treated regularly with the care product supplied. We recommend the first treatment after three months, then repeating this when the surface begins to feel dry and no longer repels liquids.
Superficies tratadas con aceite y cera están disponibles bajo pedido. Estas superficies tardan 30 días en endurecerse por completo y sólo después de este periodo son totalmente resistentes. The oak is considered the queen of all trees. It can reach a height of 30 metres and live for up to a thousand years. Oak leaves can often be seen as a symbol on medals of honour, crests and coins. Oak wood is also used for a vast variety of purposes. Alongside furniture, oak is also ideal for indoor and outdoor structures subject to heavy wear, for boat building and for beer kegs and wine barrels. Oak grows slowly, is relatively hard and has a typical ring-porous structure with distinctive broad rays. Its fairly light colour may grow darker once the wood has been dried. Depending on the surface treatment used, oak can have a classic or a very contemporary appearance. Our knotty oak is wood of the very finest quality with knots and small cracks that are filled with a natural black hard wax. El roble es considerado la reina de todos los árboles. Maar ook het hout wordt op allerlei manieren gebruikt. Behalve voor meubels is eikenhout ook geschikt voor constructies wie veel te verduren krijgen in de bouw, voor boten en voor bier- en wijnvaten. Het langzaam groeiende eikenhout is vrij hard en heeft een kenmerkende poriënstructuur met markante brede houtstralen. De vrij lichte kleur kan na het drogen donkerder worden. Afhankelijk van de behandeling van het oppervlak maakt eikenhout een klassieke of juist uitgesproken moderne indruk. Ons noesteikenhout is eersteklas eiken met noesten en barstjes die met een natuurlijke, zwarte harde was gevuld worden.

Beech heartwood differs from standard beech owing to its more distinctive, vivid grain. The typical brown streaks in different tones result from the fact that the core of the tree trunk is also used.
Elm trees can grow up to 35 metres tall and live for 400 years. Elm wood is tough, hard and heavy. Thanks to these properties, it is often used to produce wheels and spokes. The wood has a wide range of shades: from reddish to pale, it usually has dark or greenish lines. Elm wood generally has a vivid appearance.
Ash trees can grow up to 40 metres tall and live for 300 years. Owing to its sturdiness and elasticity, the wood is often used to make gymnastics equipment or handles for tools. Ash sapwood and heartwood have a pale, whitish or whitish-brown colour.

Cherry trees can grow up to 25 metres tall and live for 100 years. To reach this size, they are planted in mixed forests. This fine, rare wood is relatively hard, flexible and strong. Cherry is particularly popular for complex interior fittings but is also used in art, to build musical instruments and in inlays. The rays give the wood attractive mirrored patterns when it is radially cut. This reddishyellow to red-brown wood takes on an attractive pale gold colour with time. Cherry has an elegant, calm and balanced appearance.
The European walnut can live for up to 150 years. It is one of the most expensive native wood varieties and is used mainly for furniture, interior fittings, musical instruments and luxury car interiors. The wood has an expressive character owing to its large pores, which are dotted around the rings and are easily visible to the naked eye. European walnut is hard and supple. It is matte-brown to black-brown in colour and has irregular dark veins of varying widths running through it.
The American walnut is broader and taller than its European counterpart. Its wood is lighter and has a more uniform violet or purple-brown colour. The pores are more apparent and the rings are often wavy, but breaks in the grain are rare.
El cerezo puede alcanzar una altura de 25 metros y vivir hasta 100 años. Para poder llegar a esta altura, el cerezo se planta sobre todo en bosques mixtos. La madera noble y rara tiene una dureza moderada, es elástica y sólida. El cerezo es muy popular para construcciones interiores de alta calidad, pero se utiliza también en la artesanía, en la construcción de instrumentos de música y para marqueterías. La madera de tono rojizo amarillo a marrón rojizo toma con el tiempo un color ligeramente dorado y atractivo. La madera de cerezo tiene un aspecto elegante, tranquilo y equilibrado. Kersenbomen kunnen 25 meter hoog en 100 jaar oud worden. Om ervoor te zorgen dat ze deze hoogte bereiken, worden ze vooral in gemengde bossen aangeplant. Het edele en zeldzame hout is middelmatig hard, elastisch en stevig. Kersenhout is vooral geliefd in binnenhuisarchitectuur van hoog niveau, maar wordt ook toegepast voor kunsthandwerk, voor muziekinstrumenten en voor inlegwerk. Door de houtstralen ontstaan in het radiaal gezaagde hout mooie spiegelpatronen. Het roodachtig gele tot roodbruine hout wordt in de loop van de tijd goudachtig van kleur en ziet er dan nog aantrekkelijker uit. Kersenhout maakt een elegante, rustige en evenwichtige indruk.

Es una de las maderas locales más caras y se utiliza sobre todo para muebles, construcciones interiores, instrumentos de música así como el equipamiento interior de coches de lujo. La característica expresiva de la madera se debe a los poros grandes que se encuentran a lo largo del anillo anual y que se pueden ver a simple vista. La madera del nogal européo es dura y flexible. Presenta un color marrón mate a negro-marrón y tiene vetas irregulares y oscuras de distintas anchuras. De Europese notenboom kan 150 jaar oud worden. Het hout behoort tot de duurste inheemse houtsoorten en wordt vooral gebruikt voor meubels, interieurs, muziekinstrumenten en het interieur van luxeauto’s. Het expressieve houtkarakter ontstaat door de grote poriën die over de jaarring verstrooid gerangschikt zijn en met het blote oog goed zichtbaar zijn. Europees notenhout is hard en buigzaam. Het heeft een matbruine tot zwartbruine kleur en is onregelmatig doortrokken met donkere aders van uiteenlopende breedte.
El nogal americano es más ancho y también más alto que el nogal européo. Su madera es más ligera y presenta un color más uniforme, violeta o marrón púrpura. Los poros son más visibles y los anillos anuales son muchas veces más ondulados, sin embargo las irregularidades de las vetas son muy raras. De Amerikaanse notenboom is iets dikker en ook hoger dan de Europese. Het hout is lichter en heeft een uniformere, paarse kleur. De poriënstrepen zijn duidelijker en de jaarringen zijn vaak een beetje golvend, maar er komen zelden vezelafwijkingen voor.
