Dear Forest Highlands Members, I would like to welcome everyone to the 2023 Summer Season here at Forest Highlands! I wanted to personally thank everyone who participated in the survey process and gave the departments all the great responses and feedback last year. This helps the team with the planning process for the upcoming Season. This year all of the departments want to deliver Forest Highlands a sense of community through our programs and the services we offer. We have been busy this winter not only removing all of the snow we received and hosting winter programs but also planning the upcoming summer events. After entering names of one of the visitors, it is important to use the NOTES section. Under notes, indicate three messages below: 1. "Send in" - this will allow community access only. 2. "Escort" - Security will meet your visitor at your home and assist the home entry by unlocking the home and disarming the alarm system if set. An escort approach is used when you do not want to give a key to your visitor; Once your visitor leaves your home, Security returns and rearms the home alarm if such is needed. 3. "Key access" - this allows Security to provide your visitor a key. Security will disarm the alarm system if needed and will later rearm the home upon the visitor returning the key to the Security Gatehouse.

Welcome From your FOOD &

BEVERAGE TEAM 2023

Eddie Matney Director of Culinary Arts [email protected]

This will be my 28th season at Forest Highlands and I am amazed how much our Calendar has grown over the years. The Event Calendar is such a great resource for members and their families to help coordinate everyone’s busy schedules. Currently, I don’t know how we squeeze everything into one calendar with so many fun things happening every year. You will find most of your favorite events are back again this year and perhaps with some further enhancements. After many years of minor tweaking, the dining hours of operations will also be very similar to last year's. Due to the clubs continued growing popularity, I will remind everyone about the importance of early registration for events and dining room reservation. Please use this calendar as a reminder to mark those special dates so you don’t miss out on any of your favorite events.

NOTEWORTHY CHANGES

The Sports Park Food Pop-Up area will now feature the Food Truck with a Fish Fry theme on Friday Nights, a rotating theme on Saturdays and “Smokey in Pines” BBQ on Sundays. The Food Truck will be operating from 4-7pm every weekend Memorial Day – Labor Day.

Make sure you visit the Meadow and see the new expanded patio area. Members requested more outdoor seating and we delivered. You can request this area when making reservations and you will see the chefs cooking in this area during our weekly themed nights.

If you are hoping to have Chef Eddie host a party at your home, please call the Catering Department ASAP as his dates sell out quickly.

The calendar is one valuable resource to learn about Forest Highlands "Goings On" signing up for our TEXT message is even more crucial. Reminders, Dining Specials, Pop-up events are all sent out through our text messaging system so please TEXT “Dining” to 40691 to opt in. Chef Eddie and his team of culinarians have already come up with some exciting new Eddielicious food for this new year and you’ll also see many familiar Service Staff members back again for another great season. The entire F&B team is thrilled about this upcoming summer and look forward to welcoming back our wonderful Forest Highlands Community. Mark Thomas Food and Beverage Director [email protected]

RESERVATIONS

Please note a reservation reserves a time period in the dining room not a "table". To provide the proper flow of members in the dining room at any one time, the food & beverage team needs to be able to control the number of people arriving at a given time. The kitchen, bar, and service staff are only able to handle so many people at one time. As a walk-in diner, you may see an empty table in the dining room therefore you may not understand why you would be asked to wait before sitting. The reason is our need to control the flow of diners at any one time. Please be understanding and patient if we ask you to wait or better still, please remember to always make a reservation before coming to the dining room. 23

Dear Members, The Recreation Team is delighted to extend a warm welcome to everyone for the upcoming 2023 Summer Season! During my 7-year tenure in the Recreation Department at Forest Highlands, I have had the pleasure of meeting and interacting with numerous Members and families. I have witnessed the Department's remarkable growth, from operating out of the Canyon Boardroom during the 2015/2016 renovation to supervising several sub Departments, including Recreation Programs, Aquatics & Facilities, Fitness & Spa, and Concierge/ Residential Services. We now oversee 8 outdoor park facilities, 5 indoor facilities, 2 aquatics facilities, 10+ Concierge/Residential Services, and offer a plethora of year-round Recreation programs and events for all ages, every day of the year! I am fortunate to have a fantastic Team, and we have been diligently planning to provide the best possible Member experience. Our primary objective has always been to foster community unity through our events and create truly memorable experiences that will last a lifetime. You can access all the relevant details about our Recreation Programs & Events, Fitness & Spa, Aquatics & Facilities, and Concierge/Residential Services from various sources, including the Calendar of Events, the monthly publication Voice in the Pines, our weekly email blasts, and the Member website. Copies of the calendar can be obtained from the Family Recreation Center or the Administration Office. Our team is always available to address any queries you may have. You can reach us at 928-525-9792. We are eagerly anticipating long summer days full of fun activities, such as ice cream by the pool, fishing at the pond, enjoying family movies in the park, and lots of sunshine while laughing with your lifelong friends. DEPARTMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY UPDATE

The Forest Highlands Recreation Department is committed to reducing our environmental impact by gradually phasing out plastic cups, water bottles, and paper plates in our facilities and programs. We kindly request that parents send their children with reusable water bottles for all our programs. Additionally, we encourage all our Members to carry their preferred water bottles when visiting our fitness center, spa, and fitness classes. You can refill your water bottles at the drinking fountain located in the fitness center or downstairs by the fitness classroom/spa treatment rooms. Thank you for helping us create a more sustainable future.

WHERE CAN YOU FIND US? Our Recreation Facilities are conveniently situated in close proximity to the Meadow pool and adjacent to the Meadow Clubhouse. The Pinecone Kid's Center is conveniently located near the Kid's Playground. The Aspen Recreation Center is conveniently connected to the Meadow Pool. For Members looking for a quick bite, the Family Recreation Center houses a café and an arcade with numerous games, including pacman, pinball, shuffleboard, and much more!
