HOW TO REDUCE WATER WASTE? BY ALICE AND GIULIA

According to some statistical data in the three years 2015-2018 the daily consumption of water per head was 220 litres.

What can we do to help save water? We can: Invest in the purchase of household appliances, equipment and low-consumption systems. Maintain efficiency of the water system by eliminating losses. Avoid to let water run and use regulators that reduce the flow of water by mixing it with air. Do dishwasher and washing machine washes only when the load is full. Avoid to hand-wash dishes: much less water is consumed! Prefer the shower to the bath in the tub and limit the time in the shower, closing the tap when you soap. Irrigate flowers and plants in a rational way, in the morning or in the evening to avoid evaporation, using where possible recovery water such as rainwater.

CURIOSITY A modern dishwasher can consume 6 liters per cycle, but older machines consume 30 or 40 litres. A modern washing machine can consume around 40 or 50 liters per cycle.

The toilet box consumes about 10 liters every time we unload. If we brush our teeth without turning off the faucet, we consume about 5 - 6 liters of water per minute. When we have a 5-minute shower we use about 70-80 liters of water.
