Veterinary proffesion is a noble proffesion and I was also interested in teaching, so this made me to take up the degrees in Veterinary Science and join the university. 2. Sir If you have come across any special case? 1. Sir what made you stay engaged and passionate about your work? Since my specialization is AGB, the major challenge is to develop and conserve the indigenous breeds of livestock and I am working on that,at present situation infertility in Buffalo due to nutritional deficiency has to be highlighted. 3. Sir how do you feel when one of your student fails? 4. Sir what piece of advice do you wish to give us? There are 2 things: a) I will analyze myself whether I taught him/her properly. b) I will try to identify the problem of the student who has failed and try to address him/her. Since all students are unique, some are likely to fail and I take the opportunity to address that problem and see that they pass in the exam. Self discipline is the must for every student do not wait someone to impose discipline on you and keep the regular study and engage in co-curricular activities. Those will build your carrer and personality. Interviewed by Pani Preeti

My keen interest in breeding and population genetics during 2nd year of my UG made my mind to pursue AGB only. The application of statistics and mathematical models to AGB has attracted me lot. Because of this I was successful in clearing JRF exam. 2. Sir is it good to start entrepreneurship after B.V.Sc and A.H? 1. Sir, Why did you choose AGB department only for Masters program? I feel after UG, 2 to 3 years of experience in relevant field is needed for a successful entrepreneur. Acquiring firm knowledge in day to day public experience is must, facing the risk and learning to overcome that risk. 3. Sir how to earn money while studying B.V.Sc and A.H? Although schemes like Earn while your Learn are available in different universities. I advice to take up exams which provide scholarship, so that student may be economically stable. Once you go as employer you may not be able to fully concentrate on studies. During 4th or final year you may visit local hospital and get some remuneration. Several students have passed the Civil service exam by choosing Animal Husbandry as optional. Our students concentrate more towards clinical contents, but UPSC require more knowledge of production subjects like LPM, AGB, LPT, VPH etc. Therefore students should acquire in-depth knowledge of these subjects. 4. Sir how much benefit is there for Animal Husbandry as optional subject for UPSC? 5. Sir your advice for us ? Be obedient, sincere, studious, try to acquire more and more knowledge of the subjects. Respect your profession. Interviewed by Pani Preeti

In the age of busy lives, constant pressure and complicated relationships, we are lost somewhere. The concept of love is thought to be showered on others than to ourselves. We do not realize that self-love plays a major role in maintaining mental and physical health. So, how do we define self-love? Self-love means having high regard for our own well-being and happiness. In other words, taking good care of ourselves and not sacrificing things to please others. Being an individual, one can derive motivation through self-love to run ahead in life. Self-love includes embracing ourselves like the way we are and admiring every aspect of our lives. We are certainly not happy when we need to tackle the problems we face in life. And it is extremely important to not stress much and remember to be as gentle as possible. Let our soul breathe peacefully and be handled with utmost care. By the time we’ve realized how the act of comparison can completely put us down, we would’ve gone too far. But, there is always hope just like retrieving the lost hair volume with continuous hard work and abundant patience. It’s true that being positive all the time is an illusion. But, we have some people who help us to sail our boat while them being in a different boat. The positive aura that they radiate helps us to rebuild with great perseverance and passion. Hold on to them with respect and love and try to reciprocate the same vibes towards them. It is hard to transform the imperfections or accept the reality, but the gradual process with positive approach would definitely strengthen the overall personality. Let the inner fuel burn and engine run to its capacity to keep the vehicle moving without resistance. Stay calm, slow down and it’s better to take enough time. Experience the journey and that would be the best teacher ever. The sense of insecurity needs to be converted into tons of confidence. We’ve also got to realize that only when we love ourselves, can we expect others to love us. So, dear friends, let’s love, all our “perfect” imperfections! Articles Self-love is the best love Manvitha 3rd Year

Many people go to America, Some as tourists, some on business trips, some for higher studies. But a large chunk of them aspiring to earn more money and materialistic luxuries in life. Swami Vivekananda too went to America. But for none of these reasons. The purpose was greater one. Not for himself, but for the welfare of the whole human race, for upliftment of living conditions of his countrymen. To showcase the majesty and highness of Hindu tradition, culture and heritage to the whole world. And also to give the high spiritual prowess of India to west and inturn obtain monetary and material support from west to overcome the sufferings of millions of Indians like poverty, hunger etc. To awaken the people of India from the sleep of sluggishness caused by foreign rules, ignorance, exploitation by its own vested interest class of people, superstition, frequent natural calamities like draught, famine etc., Swami Vivekananda dedicated his entire life upon the instruction of his master H.H., Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. Swami Vivekananda was not his original name. His original name was Narendranath Datta. Born in a valiant Kshatriya Clar of Bengal on January, 12th, 1863, to parents Vishwanath Datta and Bhuvaneshwari Devi, Narendra was a very clever and genius boy. Since childhood itself he was blessed with divine aspiration for God. He was an intelligent student in school, very good sportsman, singer with a melodious voice and player of many musical instruments. In between he was attracted towards Brahmo Samaj and involved in its activities. However, his strong search and desire to find God and understand religious scriptures found an end in H.H., Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa who imparted Naren all his divine knowledge and capabilities.Sri Ramakrishna made Narendra as his successor. After the passing away of his master, Narendra travelled across the country to know the countrymen. Swami Vivekananda

He was very much at pain to see sufferings of our people from hunger, poverty, ignorance, exploitation, superstition etc. In his journey, at some places he got a royal welcome and hospitality and some times even needed to starve. In between sometimes, his health was also getting deteriorated. Inspite of all these, determined Narendra, walking in the path showed by his master - carried the message of his master throught his life and across the continents. Just sometime before his great historic Voyage to Parliament of Religions at Chicago, Maharaja of Khetri suggested Narendra an alternative name "Swami Vivekananda". Since then, it became his permanent name. He depleted his body to travel length and breadth of such a vast country of India, to understand the people and their living conditions, he wept for the their misery and worked ceaselessly for their welfare even sacrificing his own spiritual upliftment. He was a great messenger of God, a great messiah of poor and downtrodden people. Even Swami Vivekananda taught the same selfless service for the cause of suffering lot to his pupils. For this purpose he established Sri Ramakrishna Math. Swami Vivekananda showed glory of Hindu Dharma to the world. He made even western people to look at India in a high esteem. At the same time, he highlighted the plights faced by both Hindu religion and also India. He preached vehemently against untouchability and oppression of lower caste people. Like his master, he saw god in every human being, every creature and in everything on this earth. So, he preached people to be compassionate, respect each other, live with dignity, help other people in need. He also put forth strong efforts to reach the noble thoughts of Vedas, Upanishads and Vedanta to every individual. He inspired the youth to be confident, determined. He used to stress for "Muscles of Iron and Nerves of Steel". He dreamt "India should win whole world with its Spiritual Provess". His lion voice roared "Believe in yourself; Each of you have tremendous strength in you; Strength is life; Weakness is death". So, "Araise, awake, stop not till the goal is reached". India has one of the oldest civilizations, more than 5000 years old and that too continuous one. Lots of literature is available which provide the historical information regarding ancient India. Besides literary evidences, archaeological remains of different periods are also good source of history. Keeping and raising of animals is as old as our civilization. There are several theories of origin of Indian system of Medicine. According to Charaka Samhitha, the holy men met at caves and discussed the sufferings and ailments of living beings. They approached Lord Indra, God of Immortals, as he has learnt Ayurveda from twin Physician Gods, Ashvins. They learnt this knowledge from the Brahma, the creator himself. According to the Mythology, the first veterinarian was probably Lord Indra, who has treated a cow for dystocia. Later on, this knowledge was passed on to the mankind by the physician Gods Ashvins. Nakula composed a book named Asva Chikitsa in Sanskrit and considered as most ancient literature on equine medicine after Salihotra's Haya Ayurveda. Jivak Mouryan period was considered as golden period of veterinary science in Indian history. The first veterinary hospitals of the world were constructed during this period (by King Ashoka).
