Once upon a time there was a sweet kindergartener who eagerly awaited the first day of school. His parents, however, were more than a little nervous. Había una vez un estudiante amable de Kinder que esperaba el primer día de escuela con anhelo. Pero sus padres estaban un poco nerviosos.

After months of excitement and anticipation, the first day of school finally arrived! Después de meses de anticipación y de alegría… ¡El primer dia de escuela ha llegado!

Jimmy woke up early that morning. He put on his first day of school clothes. He ate a healthy breakfast. He carefully pulled the straps of his backpack over his shoulders. It was then that he realized he didn’t know ANYTHING about going to kindergarten!! How would he get there? What would his day be like? How would he get home? Jimmy was suddenly very afraid.

Esa mañana, su niño se levantó temprano. Se puso su ropa para el primer día de escuela. Comió un desayuno saludable. Se puso su mochila. ¡De repente se dio cuenta de que no sabía NADA acerca de cómo será ir a kinder! ¿Como llegara a la escuela? ¿Como sera su dia? ¿Como llegara a casa? ¡De repente le dio mucho miedo!

Luckily Jimmy’s family had done some research over the summer and were able to tell him this... Afortunadamente su familia buscó información en el verano y le pudieron decir lo siguiente...

Busing Information Bus information will be available on ParentVue around mid-August. La información acerca de la transportación por autobús será disponible en el sistema Parent Vue en agosto.

• ½ Day Kindergarteners – Get on the bus at your neighborhood stop – Drop off is at your driveway at the end of the morning session (adult must be present to receive child)

Car Drop-Off/Pick Up Safety is our #1 priority! • Use the circle drive for drop off and pick up • “Kiss and Go” on the curb side • Full procedures will be outlined in the beginning of the year folder (distributed at Meet and Greet) Los procedimientos para recoger y dejar a su hijo/a en carro se distribuirá al principio del año.

Jimmy felt relieved

and grateful that his parents knew so much. He tightened his backpack, put on a smile, and headed out the door. Kindergarten wouldn’t be such a scary place after all.

Su niño apreciará que sus papás sepan tanta información. Estara listo para ponerse la mochila, sonreir y salir a su primer día de escuela. Por fin, kinder no será un lugar que dara miedo.

Attention if you have older students!! First day for grades 1-5 is Wednesday, Aug. 24 This is an early release day

School Physicals • Must be completed before the first day of school. • Can be mailed to school or dropped off @ Canterbury School office before Friday, June 9th & after Tuesday, August 2nd. • All kindergarteners need Health Physicals, Dental Records, and Vision Exams.
