Send box tops in a baggie or attach them to a collection sheet and give directly to your teacher. You no longer need to write your child’s name on the back.

COINS FOR CANCER Wright Elementary will be participating in the District 300 Relay for Life Event on Friday, April 8, 2016 at Hampshire High School at 6:00PM. We will be starting our Coins for Cancer drive on Monday, March 14, 2016. We will be raising money and walking to remember and to support those who have been touched by this disease. Our school wide goal is to raise $2,000. All proceeds will be donated to Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society. Please consider coming out for the event on April 8th. Wright’s Relay for Life Team *Wright’s Coins for Cancer goal is to raise $2,000. If we raise $2,000 there will be a school wide incentive!

Now is Not Too Early to Begin Scheduling Important Physical and Immunization Appointments for 2016-2017! All students must be up-to-date with physical examination and immunization requirements. All forms must be turned into the School Health Office prior to August 1st to ensure students can begin school on the first day of attendance. Students will not be able to attend school until all required health information is on file.

Important Health Requirements for 2016-2017 All students entering Early Childhood, Kindergarten, Sixth and Ninth grades are required to have a current physical examination completed on the approved Illinois Department of Public Heath Form. A sport physical does not meet the requirement. A current physical is one that was completed within one year of August 2016. The parent portion on the upper back side of the form must be completed and signed. All students must be up-to-date with the State of Illinois immunization requirements including the following: All students entering sixth and seventh grade must show proof of receiving one dose of meningococcal vaccine (meningitis). All students entering twelfth grade must show proof of receiving two doses of meningococcal vaccine (meningitis) unless the first dose was given after the age of 16, then only one dose is required. All students entering grades six through twelve must show proof of receiving one dose of Tdap. All students entering kindergarten, first, second, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth and eleventh grades must show proof of receiving two doses of varicella (chickenpox). Immunization dates can be viewed through the Parent Infinite Campus Portal. Physical examination forms are available in all School Health Offices and on the D300 Health Services website. D300 together with Greater Elgin Family Care Center offer physical and immunization clinics onsite at D300 schools throughout the year. Please visit the D300 Health Services website or contact any D300 School Health Office for dates and locations.

The Jr. Golden Eagles cheer organization offers non-tryout recreational and competitive cheerleading squads for K–8th grade children in D-300 and the surrounding communities. Our cheerleaders cheer for the Jr. Eagles football teams. Our competitive cheer squads compete in local competitions and represent our organization in the IRCA State Championships every season.
